Our house, our calling
Our house is called to be love from within the body of the Holy Catholic Church; to live in the way of the desert, in the place God has appointed for us to meet Him and be with Him forever. The place where we find ourselves returned to the dust of the earth, and suffering until this life passes, yet, lifted up to a new heaven and seeing the world anew establish a community that is a gift to us from God, the Holy Trinity.
Returning to the source of our being, in smallness and hiddenness, we existed only in the fabric of life, woven into the very fibres of Love Itself.
Here, in the tranquility of the Divine Presence, we learnt to say: “Father, Abba!” and to live in the heart of the Lord, that each day calls to us saying:
“ Come! Enter into my peace, beloved of my Father”.
Accepting the invitation, we sought the door by which to enter in.
Enveloped by the heart of St. John, we live Tydewi – that is, in the House of St. David of Wales, and guided by the wisdom of St. Benedict, we shall be raised up on eagles wings and borne on the breath of the Spirit in the mystical life of contemplation that we embrace.
With hearts open to the love of God that will transform our lowly bodies into his own Sacred Heart as they become more and more, little hidden Hosts, living the life of the Risen Lord Jesus, yet, bearing within ourselves His own suffering and crucifixion until we arrive at that perfect state of union in Heaven.
We seek through our religious and ascetic life to sanctify our souls
and thereby call down God’s grace in the Church and on our world.
Distancing ourselves from the world opens the door to reality.
We re-enter the world through the humanity of Jesus, in the social realities of tragedy, pain, suffering, love, hopes and joys of mankind.
