THE STORY OF LIFE Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there, to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson, or to help you figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be (possibly your roommate, neighbor, worker, long-lost friend, lover, or even a complete stranger), but when you lock eyes with them, you know at that very moment they will affect your life in some profound way. And sometimes things happen to you that may seem horrible, painful, and unfair at first, but in reflection you find that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, willpower, or heart. Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness, and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, whatever they may be, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere. It would be safe and comfortable, but dull and utterly pointless. The people you meet who affect your life, and the success and downfalls you experience, help to create who you are and who you become. Even the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones. If someone hurts you, betrays you, or breaks your heart, forgive them, for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious when you open your heart. If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because in a way, they are teaching you to love and how to open your heart and eyes to things. Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from those moments everything that you possibly can for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people that you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Let yourself fall in love, break free, and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, it will be hard for others to believe in you. You can make of your life anything you wish. Create your own life and then go out and live it with absolutely no regrets. *Most importantly!!!, if you LOVE someone tell him or her, for you never know what tomorrow may have in store. And learn a lesson in life each day that you live. That's the story of life...

Don't Look Back As you travel through life there are always those times when decisions just have to be made when the choices are hard, and solutions seem scarce, and the rain seems to soak your parade! There are some situations where all you can do is to simply let go and move on, gather courage together and choose a direction that carries you toward a new dawn. So pack up your troubles, and take a step forward. The process of change can be tough but think about all the excitement ahead if you can be stalwart enough! There could be adventures you never imagined just waiting around the next bend and wishes and dreams just about to come true in ways you can't yet comprehend! Perhaps you'll find friendships that spring from new interests as you challenge your status quo, and learn there are so many options in life, and so many ways you can grow. Perhaps you'll go places you never expected and see things that you've never seen, or travel to fabulous, faraway worlds, and wonderful spots in between! Perhaps you'll find warmth and affection and caring a "somebody special" who's there, to help you stayed centered and listen with interest to stories and feelings you share. Perhaps you'll find comfort in knowing your friends are supportive of all that you do and believe that whatever decisions you make, they'll be the right choices for you! So keep putting one foot in front of the other and taking your life day by day.

Keep Believing in Yourself There may be days when you get up in the morning and things aren't the way you had hoped they would be. That's when you have to tell yourself that things will get better. There are times when people disappoint you and let you down. But those are the times when you must remind yourself to trust your own judgments and opinions, to keep your life focused on believing in yourself. There will be challenges to face and changes to make in your life, and it is up to you to accept them. Constantly keep yourself headed in the right direction for you. It may not be easy at times, but in those times of struggle you will find a stronger sense of who you are. So when the days come that are filled with frustration and unexpected responsibilities, remember to believe in yourself and all you want your life to be. You know the analogy of the tandem bicycle. We all want to be in the driver's seat, in control, deciding the direction, choosing the way we ride through life. Well, here's a news flash: You're not in the front seat! If you've accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, you not only received eternal life, you gave up the view from the front seat of this tandem bike and slid to the back. Where are we going, Lord? — You'll see. When will we get there? — Just wait. What do I need to do back here, Lord? — Just pedal! But I can't see what's ahead! — I can. Is this a hill we're heading up? — Don't worry, we'll come down the other side. But Lord... — Trust Me. If the Lord weren't so wonderfully gracious and wonderfully holy, I think He would say, "Hush, for crying out loud, and stop your yapping!" (At least, that's what I'd say!) But He doesn't. He listens. He loves. He cares so deeply. He knows we don't understand. He knows we can't see the end result of the situations ahead of us. He does feel our pain. All too well, He knows. If you wonder how He knows, the Garden of Gethsemane gives us the full picture of his own heart cry.
Is there any other way? the Son cried out. No, came the Father's reply. Then, from the Son, Not my will, but Thy will be done. ************************

Hello God, It's Me Tonight I didn't think that I could make it on my own, So I decided to make a call, and then picked up the phone. I looked at all the numbers, but my eyes would only see So vivid in my mind was to call ... 4-6-3 When you look at those numbers, it is then that you will see The letters that spell GOD, are the numbers … 4-6-3 It was then I knew without a doubt just whom I was going to call It mattered not a bit to Him if my problems were large or small. Looking over at the clock I saw it was quite late, Would He really mind my call? Maybe I could wait. Then I began to understand. We could call Him any time. There's never a busy signal, and it doesn't cost a dime. He's always right there waiting with open arms for me. The time matters not to Him, so, please call … 4-6-3 He'll talk to you, He'll talk to me, He'll pick us up, He'll set us free. So when you find you need some comfort in your soul, Don't look elsewhere for it, just call … there is no toll. Put Him in your life right now. Don't wait another day. He's waiting for that call right now. All you have to do is pray. I know I call Him often and He's there to understand. He's always there when I say … “Hello God, it’s me again."

Letting go seems so hard...but as Peter reminds us, casting all your care upon Him, because He cares for you...or as the Psalmist sings, Cast your burden upon the Lord, and He will sustain you, He will not allow the righteous to be moved. Release to the Lord the problems of the past, the powerless years of defeat and failure. God promised...Behold, I will do a new thing. Imagine, a new road prepared in the undeveloped wilderness, and that's exactly what God promised. Picture, a fresh water river running through the desert, and that's precisely what God said He would do! God wants to restore those years that the cankerworms have eaten...bind up the brokenhearted...and give life to dead dreams...power to the weak...productivity to the procrastinator...creativity to the casual...and healing to the wounded eagle. Don't resist God's new direction in your life, or the new thing that He's doing, you may not understand it, but remember God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. Write this down somewhere so that you can see it often, The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and He delights in His way. Obedience means joy and uninterrupted fellowship with God. Our world limits joy to those who have worldly means to live the good life. Christ limits joy to those who have the obedience to give away all they have to enjoy Him. Which kind of joy do you seek? Our desire should be not to cling to worldly riches but to store up our riches in Heaven. Our Lord will provide all we need daily, He supplies what money and wealth cannot buy. Our goal is to fully and completely depend upon Him for everything. That is true faith, giving it all up and depending upon Him to supply all our needs.
Beyond Our Asking More than hearts can imagine or minds comprehend, God's bountiful gifts are ours without end. We ask for a cupful when the vast sea is ours, We pick a small rosebud from a garden of flowers, We reach for a sunbeam but the sun still abides, We draw one short breath but there's air on all sides. Whatever we ask for falls short of God's giving For His Greatness exceeds every facet of living, And always God's ready and eager and willing To pour out His mercy completely fulfilling All of man's needs for peace, joy and rest For God gives His children Whatever Is Best. Just give Him a chance to open His treasures And He'll fill your life with unfathomable pleasures, Pleasures that never grow worn-out and faded And leave us depleted, disillusioned and jaded. For God has a "storehouse" just filled to the brim With all that man needs if we'll only ask Him.

God also bound Himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that He would never change His mind. So God has given us both His promise and His oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to Him for refuge can take new courage, for we can hold on to His promise with confidence. This confidence is like a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain of Heaven into God's inner sanctuary. (Heb 6:17-19 nlt)
Prayer: LORD, I am thankful that in those times when circumstances appear out of control and there is no other person who can be trusted or any situation upon which I can depend, You are an unchanging anchor for my soul. I know I can trust You and depend upon Your unfailing love and the absolute truth of Your word and promises. I am grateful that I can now have the assurance to confidently face any challenge, because I trust steadfastly in You. In Jesus' name. Amen.

The one relationship that has top priority over all others is our kinship with God, because it not only greatly affects the quality of our life now, but it determines our eternal destiny. We tend to put that in the background because we think we are invincible and will be here forever. I hate to break this to you, but someday "I'll be a moving on" and so will you. Are you ready for the trip? In John 3:36 (nlt), Jesus said, "all who believe in God's Son have eternal life. Those who don't obey the Son will never experience eternal life, but the wrath of God remains upon them." That's the blunt truth. If you haven't, put your faith in Christ, and don't delay another minute.
Oh Boy, I have somewhere to shift the blame....the family tree God hung me in. In Psalm 51:5, David said, "In sin did my mother conceive me" In other words, " I was born this way !" We might say, "I get my temper from my dad" or " I retaliate because of the way I was treated at home, at work or school." But David doesn't leave it there. He has recognized there are NO excuses. NO other places to put the blame. In verse 4 he says, "Against you and you alone have I sinned." The antidote was not just turning over a new leaf... it required a heart transplant. "Create in me a clean heart" Psalm 51:10 A teacher once said to me. "There could be an ounce of truth in every bit of criticism, find it and work on it." Personally I know it would be a more successful operation if I let God do the work. "Search me O God, and know my heart: try me and know my thoughts: and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."

At times I have been as needy as an orphan, My pastures have been wind-blasted and as black as asphalt, The waters I have walked beside have churned white and threatening. My soul has been on the critical list. I've walked in places I should not let me go. Death has scared me witless, and mere shadows have unnerved me. And who's to blame? The Shepherd or the sheep? The sheep, of course. So help me follow You to green pastures, quiet waters, and righteous paths. Then I'll walk with steady legs through death's valley. Neither shadows nor real evil will move me. God Knows Best Our Father knows what's best for us, So why should we complain ... We always want the sunshine, But He knows there must be rain. We love the sound of laughter And the merriment of cheer; But our hearts would lose their tenderness If we never shed a tear. Our Father tests us often With suffering and with sorrow; He tests us, not to punish us, But to help us meet "tomorrow." For growing trees are strengthened When they withstand the storm; And the sharp cut of the chisel Gives the marble grace and form. God never hurts us needlessly, And He never wastes our pain; For every loss He sends to us Is followed by rich gain. And when we count the blessings That God has so freely sent; We will find no cause for murmuring And no time to lament. For Our Father loves His children, And to Him all things are plain; So He never sends us "pleasure" When the "soul's deep need is pain." So whenever we are troubled, And when everything goes wrong, It is just God working in us To make "our spirits strong."
Someone Cares
Somebody cares and always will! The world forgets, but God loves you still. You cannot go beyond His Love. No matter what your guilty of. For God forgives until the end, He is your faithful, loyal friend. And though you try to hide your face, There is no shelter any place. That can escape His watchful eye, For on the earth and in the sky, He's Ever Present and Always There! To take you in His tender care. Life's Risk To weep is to risk appearing sentimental. To reach out for another is to risk involvement. To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self. To place your ideas, your dreams, before a crowd is to risk their loss. To love is to risk not being loved in return. To live is to risk dying. To hope is to risk failure. But risk must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing. If you risk nothing and do, nothing you dull your spirit. You may avoid suffering and sorrow, but you cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love, and live. Chained by your attitude, you are a slave. You have forfeited your freedom. Only if you risk, are you free.
"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." I'm not talking about listening to every whine of the constant complainer. You can tell the difference between a professional complainer and someone who is going through a real trial. Today, maybe you can be God's friend to someone who just needs a compassionate ear and in that way "fulfill the law of Christ." Gal. 6:2 (niv)
A Bend In The Road
When we feel we have nothing left to give and we are sure that the song has ended, When our day seems over and the shadows fall and the darkness of night has descended, Where can we go to find the strength to valiantly keep on trying? Where can we find the hand that will dry the tears that the heart is crying? There’s but one place to go and that is to God, and dropping all pretense and pride, We can pour out our problems without restraint and gain strength with Him at our side. And together we stand at life’s crossroads and view what we think is the end, But God has a much bigger vision, and He tells us it’s only a bend, For the road goes on and is smoother, and the pause in the song is a rest, And the part that’s unsung and unfinished is the sweetest and richest and best. We Can't, But God Can We do not always know, And we cannot always fathom Why our spirits sink so low... We flounder in our dark distress, We are wavering and unstable, But when we're most inadequate The Lord God's always able... For though we are incapable, God's powerful and great, And there's no darkness of the mind That God can't penetrate... And all that is required of us Whenever things go wrong Is to trust in God implicitly With a faith that's deep and strong. And while He may not instantly Unravel all the strands Of the tangled thoughts that trouble us He completely understands... And in His time, if we have faith, He will gradually restore The brightness to our spirit That we've been longing for... So remember, there's no cloud too dark For God's light to penetrate If we keep on believing And have faith enough to wait!
Remind Me God Dear God, When I am lonely and, Perhaps I feel despair. Let not my ailing heart forget, That You hear every prayer.. Remind me that no matter what, I do or fail to do, There still is hope for as long As I have faith in You.. Let not my eyes be blinded by Some folly I commit. But help me to regret my wrong, And to make up for it.. Inspire me to put my fears, Upon a hidden shelf, And in the future never to Be sorry for myself. A Special Place There is a special place in life, that needs my humble skill, A certain job I'm meant to do, which no one else can fulfill. The time will be demanding, and the pay is not too good. In God's Hands Put Your Problems In God's Hands. Although it sometimes seems to us our prayers have not been heard, God always knows our every need without a single word. And He will not forsake us even though the way is steep, For He is always near to us, a tender watch to keep... In this illness, God has reaffirmed a powerful truth in my heart. “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord”
(Romans 8:38-39) God loves me in spite of me. His love for me is so complete that nothing will ever be able to separate me from that love. It is comforting to know that even in the midst of my own holding pattern that God still loves me with an everlasting love. What a mighty God we serve. So my friend, thanks for your prayers and words of encouragement, but allow me this one more time to remind you that you too are loved with an everlasting love.
