God is the final authority here, and I thank Him for you,
and allowing me to share with you in this way.
Lord, please continue to use me to do Thy Will.
Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others.
Keep me strong that I may help the weak and unsaved.
Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others.
May the Holy Spirit always continue to guide me.
I ask for your continued prayers, and please pray for each other

Let There Be Peace On Earth

Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on earth, the peace that was meant to be.
With God as our Father,  brothers all are we.
Let me walk with my brother, in perfect harmony.

Let peace begin with me, let this be the moment now.
With every step I take, let this be my solemn vow;
To take each moment and live each moment, in peace eternally.
Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.

************************

We are moved to pray to Christ because He is near and dear to us.

Look backward -- see Christ dying for you;
Look upward -- see Him pleading for you at the Father's right hand;
Look inward -- see Him living in you;
Look forward -- see Him coming for you.

************************

God's whisper means I must stop my ranting and move
close to Him, until my head is bent together with His.
And then, as I listen, I will find my answer.
Better still, I find myself closer to God!

************************

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint."
Today is your day to soar!....Isaiah 40:31,

************************

Live today in peace.
Peacefully accept what is,
and work diligently to make of it what you wish.
Act with peace toward others and you will be enjoy
more peace yourself. Have the courage and strength
to spend some time in silence and contemplation.
Let go of fear and guilt.
Replace them with kindness and forgiveness.
Rather than fretting over what is most impressive or most strategic,
put your energy into doing what is right.
Use your judgment not as a weapon for putting down others,
but as a tool for building your own character.

Look past the things that usually annoy you.
Marvel at the beauty of the world in which you live.
Stop rushing so frantically. It accomplishes nothing.
Make your efforts measured and determined.
The results will be undeniably magnificent.

Decide to live this day in peace.
See how powerful that can be.
In peace there is strength.
In peace there is effectiveness, purpose and determination.
Experience the power of peace today and understand
how very rich life can be.

************************

God knows when you're weary or sad and blue,
It's then when He'll come especially close to you.
He'll be there to support, to help, to lift,
He wants you to enjoy life, that's part of His gift.

So don't be discouraged and full of despair,
Reach out to God, you'll find He is there.
He'll surround you with love and give joy and peace,
His blessings are endless, they never cease.

If someone said something unkind or untrue,
About one of your friends or even about you,
Just take it to Jesus and explain how you feel,
You'll be amazed how quickly you'll heal.

Don't ask how He does it, I don't understand,
Just accept His healing and His favor so grand.
Accept Christ as your Savior, your leader and guide,
He'll never leave you, He'll stay by your side.

Your life may not be easy, it may be quite rough,
But the grace Christ gives you is more than enough.
He'll keep you from falling or pick you up when you do,
God's love and His mercy will help you get through.

So don't think you've failed because your life is hard,
Just keep looking to Jesus and keep up your guard.
You'll find strength and stamina to see each day through,
And when it's all over God promises Heaven for you.

When life seems more than you can bear--
and all you feel is dark despair.
When you find problems everywhere--
your pain and hurt seems so unfair.
Then seek the child within.

If you alone must face the black,
for all your friends have turned their back.
They don't have time for you to share,
and no one seems to really care.
Then seek the child within.

When life demands you toil all day,
and you must work your life away--
There is no time to rest or play and
hope seems lost and far away.
Then seek the child within.

Remember when you laughed and smiled?
Seek within and find that child.
The time of wonder and discover --
when tears were wiped away by Mother.

A time of jam and peanut butter,
a time for sharing with another.
Carousels and laughing clowns,
painted nose and painted frowns.
New games to play week after week,
first go hide, and then go seek!
And while seeking, look within,
let the child come out again!

The child within is full of hope--
and always finds a way to cope,
For if today brings only sorrow--
the sun will shine again tomorrow.

Just close your eyes and think
of when you were just a child again.
When hope and promise all came true.
The child within is still with you.

Be Blessed

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation
of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight,
O LORD, my strength, and my Redeemer.
(Psa 19:14 KJV)

Prayer:

LORD, help me to take greater responsibility
for my words and especially my thoughts and cause
them to be things that will be pleasing to You and edifying to me.
I may not always be able to keep a bad or negative thought
from coming, but I can keep it from staying --
I do not have to meditate on it!
I Thank You that You care about me and
want the best for me in everything that concerns my life,
even in my thoughts.
In Jesus' name. Amen.

Today Has Passed

Whatever it held of good or evil is now woven into the
inevitable pattern of life. I cannot recall one unkind word,
nor retrace one foolish step. The tapestry is woven.
I might look at the pattern and regret the threads of selfishness,
the ravelings of hate, but I cannot remove them,
for they are now a lasting part that holds together the
weavings of today. I may search for a thread of human kindness,
may look for a touch of love and beauty to give color to my drab
design, but if I did not weave them in my gleanings of today,
I cannot add them.
Today has passed.

But if tomorrow comes, it will offer me a clean and
empty loom, and fresh strands of hope and faith.
Perhaps then I can weave a lovelier pattern,
with less of the gray of care and the purple of pain,
and more of the gold of truth, and the blue of trust,
and the shimmering white of faith and purity.

Perchance I can throw open my mental blinds
so that there may be reflected upon my loom more
of the sunshine of cheer and the hope of optimism.
Perchance I can focus upon the beautiful instead of the ugly.
I will not be mortgaged to the past. Today is no more.

One Step At A Time

One step at a time is the best way to go
When going through life and traveling in the direction of your dreams
The bests way to get ahead is the simplest way,
Take one step at a time.
Don't look over your shoulder; if you do, you'll feel the weight,
Of all your yesterdays upon you, and don't worry about what lies ahead.
By the time you get to the bend in the road or the crest of the hill,
You're going to be better and stronger than you ever were before.
Just go one step at a time, one day at a time, and you'll find a rich,
thankful life you never thought you could afford.

Overcoming Burdens of Life

Did you know that an eagle knows when the storm
is approaching long before it breaks?
The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come.
When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will
pick it up and lift it above the storm.
While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring above it.
The eagle does not escape the storm.
It simply uses the storm to lift it higher.
It rises on the winds that bring the storm.
When the storms of life come upon us --
and all of us will experience them --
we can rise above them by setting our minds
and our belief toward God.
The storms do not have to overcome us.
We can allow God's power to lift us above them.
God enables us to ride the winds of the storm that bring
sickness, tragedy, failure and disappointment in our lives.
We can soar above the storm.
Remember, it is not the burdens of life that weigh us down,
it is how we handle them.

************************

The falling rain dissolves into mist
And the thunder begins to die;
As the sporadic lightning fades,
An arch of colors pours from the sky.

Rainbows appear after mighty storms
When things look their worst;
Just when the skies are darkest gray,
Out of heaven does the rainbow burst.

God first sent the rainbow to Noah
As a sign that His word is true;
The rainbow's eternal message
Still speaks to me and you.

The rainbow is a sign of God's promise
That He will guide us through any storm;
That He will ease all our troubles
No matter what their form.

When you feel battered by life's storms
And you are filled with doubt and dismay,
Just remember God's rainbow is coming
For its Blessing ... you only have to pray.

************************

Listen to the birds, oh how they sing, and they are so beautiful...
God must have had us in mind when He made the birds...
He knew we would need a few things that could make us happy.
Just to sit and listen to the birds is peaceful...

God did not promise us blue skies each day...
Sometimes we do have hardships to go through..
God did not promise sunny days without a few showers...
Sometimes it has to rain for flowers to grow..
God did not promise us joy without sorrow....
Sometimes the sorrows we face make us stronger for our tomorrow's.
God did promise us.....Strength for each of our tomorrow's..
God did promise us...Grace for all of our trials...
God did promise us...Rest for the weary...
God gives us the rest we need...
Not just sometimes.....But Always.......And Everytime...
God did promise us........ Undying love...
He is the one person who loves us no matter what.
God did promise us...Stability in our lives.
He is our anchor....... He is our stability.
If you are worried about your tomorrow.....Don't be...
Let God do the worrying for you....... God is here for us..

For I am persuaded, that neither death,
nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers,
nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God,
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord”

(Romans 8:38-39).

God loves me in spite of me.
His love for me is so complete that nothing will
ever be able to separate me from that love.
It is comforting to know that even in the midst of
my own holding pattern that God still
loves me with an everlasting love.
What a mighty God we serve.
So my friend, thanks for your prayers and words
of encouragement but allow me this one
more time to remind you that you too are loved with an
everlasting love.
Take a moment and wrap your arms around yourself
and feel the love of God all over you.
He loves you and I love you too.
Be Blessed.

Look for Things

Look for things to be thankful for:
a dear old face at an open door,
The table set for the family meal,
a husband's love that is true as steel.
A cushioned chair that you fixed yourself,
your favorite books on a nearby shelf,
A green-hued twilight that sort of glows,
the clean, fresh smell of a briar rose.
An old windjammer that you recall
beating its way through an April squall,
Its old sides crusted with salty spray,
limping in at the close of day.
The lovely odor of lemon peel;
a humble man with flaming zeal.
For a worthy cause that he thinks is right;
the feeling of warmth on a winter night.
Look for things to be thankful for:
a braided rug on your bedroom floor,
A dormer window with curtains drawn,
a bluebird singing across the lawn.
So much to be thankful for these days,
so much to enjoy and love and praise.

Prayers Can't be Answered Unless They Are Prayed

Life without purpose is barren indeed --
There can't be a harvest unless you plant a seed,
There can't be attainment unless there's a goal,
And man is but a robot unless there is a soul ...

If we send no ships out, no ships will come in,
And unless there is a contest, nobody can win ...
For games can't be won unless they are played
And prayers can't be answered unless they are prayed ...

So whatever is wrong with your life today,
You will find a solution if you kneel down and pray
Not just for pleasure, enjoyment and health,
Not just for honors and prestige and wealth ...

But pray for a purpose to make life worth living,
And pray for the joy on unselfish giving,
For great is your gladness and rich your reward
When you make your life's purpose the choice of the Lord.

A Very Present Help

He's helping me now this moment,
Though I may not see it or hear
Perhaps by a friend far distant,
Perhaps by a stranger near,
Perhaps by a spoken message,
Perhaps by the printed word;
In ways that I know and know not
I have the help of the Lord.

He's keeping me now -- this moment,
However I need it, most
Perhaps by a single angel,
Perhaps by a mighty host,
Perhaps by the chain that frets me,
Or the walls that shut me in;
In ways that I know and know not,
He keeps me from harm and sin.

He's guiding me now -- this moment,
In pathways easy or hard,
Perhaps by a door wide open,
Perhaps by a door fast barred,
Perhaps by a joy withholden,
Perhaps by a gladness given;
In ways that I know and know not,
He's leading me up to heaven.

He's using me now -- this moment,
And whether I go or stand,
Perhaps by a plan accomplished,
Perhaps when He stays my hand,
Perhaps by a word in season,
Perhaps by a silent prayer;
In ways that I know and know not,
His labor of love I share.

************************

If you're tempted to despair,
and you think that no one cares,
There's one thing that should be clear:
"I will keep My promise to you. I am here."
As these doubts and fears assail, and you think that you will fail,
Look to Jesus and you'll hear: "I'll not leave you. I am here."
"I am with you in your trials. I'll support you in your woe.
Any place that I may send you, you can trust Me. I will go."
"Through the valley, cross the mountains where the raging waters flow.
I will never, never leave you but will surely always go."
"So take heart and don't be fearful, dare to love and trust in Me.
And your mission will be joyful as My Spirit sets you free!"

In the Storms of Life

A mother's love is like an island
In life's ocean vast and wide
A peaceful, quiet shelter
From the restless, rising tide.
A mother's love is like a fortress,
and we seek protection there.
When the waves of tribulation
Seem to drown us in despair.
A mother's love is a sanctuary
Where our souls can find sweet rest
From the struggle and the tension
Of life's fast and futile quest.
A mother's love is like a tower
Rising far above the crowd,
And her smile is like the sunshine
Breaking through a threatening cloud.
A mother's love is like a beacon
Burning bright with faith and prayer,
And through the changing scenes of life
We find a haven there.
For a mother's love is fashioned
After God's unfailing love
It is endless and unfailing
Like the love of Him above.

The Mountain

The mountain I see before me with its cliffs and jagged face
makes me contemplate my oneness and bow my head in grace.
So majestic is its demeanor so intimidating is its height
and to climb it all alone will take all my strength and might.

My feet slip as I ascend so uncertain are my steps
I look down at the earth below and my heart fills with regret.
Taking on this task alone was much more than I could bear
but I'm halfway up the mountain and there's no one who can hear.

I reach a place of smoothness and I rest for just a while
as the sun sets right before me my face adorns a smile.
Such beauty amidst my strife makes me feel a warmth inside
and I find the strength to push my feet up the mountainside.

For a while the going's easy and then I come upon
a cliff too steep for climbing and I wonder what went wrong?
I contemplate my position as I gaze in such despair
thinking that I must give up my strength no longer there.

My tears form a waterfall down the mountainside
as I grasp the jagged edge clinging onto my own pride.
To ask for help is something I feel too proud to do
until my footing slips and I feel my life unglue.

"Dear God", I cry to the heavens, "I cannot climb this mountainside."
And then I heard a voice which gave me faith instead of pride.
"You were never alone, My Child as you climbed this mountainside.
I was always here beside you never leaving your dear side."

"But I don't deserve Your help, I thought I could do it alone.
I thought I could handle anything, even this mountain made of stone."
When will you realize, that there's nothing you can do
that will make Me leave your side; for I'll always help you through."

I felt my grip grow firm, I felt my legs grow strong
and suddenly I knew that I was very strong.
I'm not alone on this mountain, I'm not alone on the sea
For God's hand is always there reaching out to me.

As I gazed upon the earth atop the mountainside
I felt so very loved as God stood by my side.

I Am With You

I just wanted to tell you......
I am with you...I will help you...
Isaiah 41:10

So don't worry, Because I am with you...
Don't be afraid, Because I am your God....
Whenever you need Me...Just call on My Name....
You've got a friend....Never forget......I am here.......
Isaiah 43:2

When you pass through the waters
I will be with you.
I am always just a prayer away.....I love you...
Go to that job interview...I am with you...
Go see that friend who hurt you...I am with you...
Go take that test...I am with you...
Go look at that house...I am with you...
No matter what your need is...I am with you...I love you...
I am with you always...You've got a friend...

************************

Deliver us from evil,
Lord and keep us from being lead into temptation.
To the extent that we forgive the trespasses of others,
We ask You to forgive us.
You give to us our daily bread as we seek
the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth.
And when Your will is done,
Your Kingdom comes in wisdom and in truth.
For Your name is Holy, and You are our Father in heaven!

************************

Open My Eyes

God, open my eyes so I may see
And feel Your presence close to me.
Give me strength for my stumbling feet
As I battle the crowd on life's busy street.
And widen the vision of my unseeing eyes
So in passing faces I'll recognize
Not just a stranger, unloved and unknown
But a friend with a heart that is much like my own.
Give me perception to make me aware
That scattered profusely on life's thoroughfare
Are the best gifts of God that we daily pass by
As we look at the world with an unseeing eye

************************

My Daily Wish

My daily wish is that we may see good in those who pass our way;
Find in each a worthy trait that we shall gladly cultivate;
See in each one passing by the
better things that beautify. A softly spoken word of cheer,
a kindly face, a smile sincere.
I pray each day that we may view the things that
warm one's heart anew;
The kindly deed that can't be bought that only
from good are wrought,
A burden lightened here and there,
a brother lifted from despair,
The aged ones freed from distress;
the lame, the sick, brought happiness.
Grant that before each sun has set,
we'll witness deeds we can't forget;
A soothing hand to one in pain,
a sacrifice for love - not gain;
A word to ease the troubled mind
of one whom fate has dealt unkind.
So, friend, my wish is that we may see
good in all who pass our way.

************************

We have two ends; one for sitting and one for thinking.
My success depends on which one I use more.
Lord, grant me the determination and the necessary energy
that I need to accomplish my goals for today and for my future.

************************

May today there be peace within you. May you
trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.

Lord Change Me

Dear Lord
Change not Thy will in my life, or trial and sorrows to be;
Renew my faith and make me strong,
Change not Thy will,
Change me.

Though teardrops fall when trouble comes,
Like the storms on a rolling sea;
Let Thy beacon guide my ship to port
Change not the storm,
Change Me.

When Thy Holy Word I do not understand
And Thy glory I cannot see;
Teach my eyes; give me sight and wisdom,
Change not Thy Word,
Change Me.

If the fruit Thou hast given me to eat,
Taste bitter and sour,
I Plead;
Let not my will but Thine Be Done,
Change not the fruit,
Change Me.

If sometimes I murmur and grumble, Dear Lord,
About the cross I carry for Thee;
Keep it firm on my shoulders, but hold my hand,
Change not The Cross,
Change Me.

If you change Thy ways to please me, Dear Lord,
I would soon grow cold and turn from Thee;
That You may hear my prayers, Dear Lord,
Change not Thy ways,
Change Me.

There is a valley that I must cross,
Someday Thy Face to see;
Lest I forget what power is Thine,
Change not the valley,
Change Me.

In Time Of Need

I pray to You my God to ask You for the courage
to calm my fears and accept Your will.
To keep my mind and spirit pure even while the flesh is weak.

I ask You to strengthen my body and wash my illness,
In order that I may continue to enjoy loved ones
close to me in this world.

I fear my passing from this earth, O God, even while
knowing that as mortals we all must.
I know that You have a plan and a purpose for my life;
That You and You alone hold in Your hands,
The fate of all mankind before me and all those yet to come.

I ask that You walk close behind me through these times!
I ask this in Your name in a time of need....... Amen

I Am Learning, Lord

My life has taken many falls and tumbles 'long the way.
The many trials have left me in a sure state of dismay.
For with each trial, I tried alone to tend, and soothe, and mend,
Instead of giving them to God - and on Him just depend ...

I Am Learning, Lord.

It seems that I was determined to carry all the load.
I longed for smoother pathways. Yet, I walked a rocky road.
Little did I understand, God waited patiently
To pave a new beginning with a better life for me.

But, I Am Learning, Lord.

It took a real disaster to bring me to my knees;
To finally call upon the Lord and say, "God help me, please."
He can, with no delaying, with strong arms that could hold -
The weight of all my burdens; He gladly took the load.

And, I Am Learning, Lord.

What a needless cross I carried, all because I could not see -
What a friend I have in Jesus, and the love He has for me.
Peace I find when troubles hover, though' the outcome is unknown.
For if yet the road is rocky, I won't walk it all alone.
For, I Am Learning, Lord.

************************

I asked the Lord to Bless you as I prayed for you today.
To guide you and protect you as you go along your way ......
His love is always with you,
His promises are true,
And when we give Him all our cares,
You know He will see us through.

When You Know God You Can Enjoy the ride

Why would you want to take a shortcut when the journey
itself is so exquisitely enjoyable? Why would you waste
your energy in a vain attempt to cheat life, when it is
God who gives you so very much? Why would you want
to break His rules, when the rules are decidedly in
your favor and for your own good?

Hebrews 12:10 Our fathers disciplined us for a little
while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for
our good, that we may share in His Holiness.

Stop scheming, stop conniving to gain advantage, stop
worrying and just enjoy. Fulfillment comes not from
having a leg up on others, but rather from forming a
solid and lasting connection with God.

Learn to enjoy the wonderful reality that life
is difficult and filled with the necessity of effort.
You are perfectly suited for it,
so what's the problem?
Learn to seek God in difficult challenges.
It is The Holy Spirit telling your inner man to do so.

Romans 8:37 but despite all this, overwhelming victory
is ours through Christ who loved us enough to die for us.

What is fulfillment if not being who you are?
And you are a problem solver, an achiever,
a decisive thinker, fully capable of taking action
to make a positive difference.
When you do what God said, you're in your
prime when doing so.
James 1:3 for when the way is rough, your patience has
a chance to grow.

Life is an effort. Life is a challenge. Life is yours
and it is great. Enjoy every moment of the ride.

He gives strength to the weary and increases the
power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men
stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their
strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not
grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
(Isa 40:29-31 niv)

Prayer:

LORD, renew my strength in You today!
There are times when the struggles of life make me weary,
even to the point that I feel I cannot go another day.
I know Your love is unconditional and unfailing,
even during those times.
I will trust You to give me renewed strength
and make a way for me when I can see no way.
That is Your promise and Your promises never fail.
In Jesus' Name. Amen.

All things have been delivered to Me by My Father,
and no one knows the Son except the Father.
Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son,
and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me,
for I am gentle and lowly in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.
For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
(Matt 11:27-30)

The lies of the world and the doubts of your own heart have
tested your faith. Now find rest for your soul in Jesus. Put
world and that He succeeded in your case, "casting down

obedience of Christ"

(2 Cor 10:5).

What Blessed relief comes when we finally fall on our
knees and humble ourselves before God.
We suddenly realize what a heavy weight pride has been.
It is exhausting to insist on thinking so highly of oneself
with such mounting evidence to the contrary!"

Come, Lord Jesus

Lord Jesus, come into my life--take away the struggle and strife.
Lord, may Your love and peace abide in hearts and lives far and wide.
Lord Jesus, come into each home, that we be strong and never roam.
May the Word of God light our way, and give us guidance everyday.
Lord Jesus, come to our nation, for You, Lord, are our salvation!
Be honored, Christ, across our land! And lead us Savior by Your hand.
Lord Jesus, come to earth again! And show Your glory to all men.
Come with angels and with power; Come, Lord Jesus, this very hour!

An Indian Prayer

My grandfather is the fire....
My grandmother is the wind
The Earth is my mother........
The Great Spirit is my father.
The World stopped at my birth and laid itself at my feet
and I shall swallow the Earth whole when I die,
and the Earth and I will be one.
Hail The Great Spirit, my Father
without Him no one could exist
because there would be no will to live.
Hail The Earth, my mother
without which no food could be grown and
so cause the will to live to starve.
Hail the wind, my grandmother for she brings loving,
life giving rain, nourishing us as she nourishes our crops
Hail the fire, my grandfather for the light, the warmth,
the comfort he brings without which we be animals, not men
Hail my parents and grandparents without which not
I nor you nor anyone else could have existed
Life gives life which gives unto itself a promise of new life
Hail the Great Spirit, The Earth, the wind,
the fire praise my parents loudly for they are your parents, too
Oh, Great Spirit, giver of my life
please accept this humble offering of prayer
this offering of praise this honest reverence of my love for you.

May the Lord of light let the glow in your eye twinkle in the
day and burn at night so that others might see your
"window to the soul" shine as a glowing coal and
guide them in their journey into night.

May His gentle rain refresh both body and soul,
give you an angel's hand to hold
so that when begins the mighty wind,
thunder's booming din, you will hold fast to your faith
and know His blessed Grace will keep you free from fear and sin.

May the path He planned lead you to a beauteous land,
a quiet haven beside a stream where you may dream
and rest awhile to reflect on God's creations....and smile -
for He led you to a space, in this time and place,
and created a sunset your heart to beguile.

May your heart not be troubled,
and may God's blessings given freely,
pass from you daily to a stranger or a friend,
so that kindness never end
and you realize your worth since the day of your birth -
touch a stranger's hand and heart...for you play a part, i
n this vast universe of God where upon His earth you trod.
Reach for the light, that shines so very bright to enable you to attain,
our God on Heaven's throne where you'll never be alone,
He'll greet you with "My child, welcome Home."

Old Is Wonderful

Let Us Take Note
that it is the old apple trees that are decked
with the loveliest blossoms,
that it is the ancient redwoods that rise to majestic heights,
that it is the old violins that produce the richest tones,
that it is the oldest wine that tastes the sweetest,
that it is the ancient coins, old stamps and
antique furniture that many eagerly seek,
that it is when the day is old and far spent
that it displays the beauteous colors of sunset,
that it is when the year is old and has run its course
that mother nature transforms the world into a fairyland of snow,
that old friends are the dearest and that it is the old people
who have been loved by God for a long, long time.
Thank God for the blessings of old age, its faith, its love, its hope,
its patience, its wisdom, its experience, its maturity.
When all is said and done,
Old Is Wonderful!

There Is A Reason

Our Father knows what's best for us, So why should we complain--
We always want the sunshine, but He knows there must be rain--
We love the sound of laughter and the merriment of cheer,
But our hearts would lose their tenderness if we never shed a tear...
Our Father tests us often with suffering and with sorrow,
He tests us, not to punish us, but to help us meet tomorrow...
For growing trees are strengthened when they withstand the storm,
And the sharp cut of the chisel gives the marble grace and form...
God never hurts us needlessly, and He never wastes our pain,
For every loss He sends to us is followed by rich gain...
And when we count the blessings that God has so freely sent,
We will find no cause for murmuring and no time to lament
For Our Father loves His children, and to Him all things are plain,
So He never sends us pleasures when the soul's deep need is pain...
So whenever we are troubled, and when everything goes wrong,
It is just God working in us to make our spirit strong.

O Jesus, Eternal God,
I thank You for Your countless graces and blessings.
Let every beat of my heart be a new hymn of thanksgiving to You,
O God. Let every drop of my blood circulate for You, Lord.
My soul is one hymn in adoration of Your mercy.
I love You, God, for Yourself alone.
Amen.

The promise to those who trust and practice of good is, so
shall thou dwell in the land and verily thou shall be fed.
God said that there is not a sparrow falls to the ground
without Him knowing it, and if God can feed them daily
without fail, then certainly He can take care of you. In fact,
Jesus said, for your Heavenly Father knows that you have
need of all these things. But seek you first the kingdom of
God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be
added unto you. (Matthew 6:32-33)

I find it comforting to know that our God never sleeps nor
slumbers and always watches over those things that pertain to us,
simply because we belong to Him.
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture and He will
take care of all our needs, when you need them.
Make it one of life's habits to delight in Him
and He will give to you the desires of your heart.

No Charge

Oh my! How truly wonderful it  is
To have lived just one of His days,
The gifts that He gives to cherish
In so many beautiful ways.
The splendor we see in the hues of the birds.
The grace in their up-drafting flight.
The sparkle of dew in the morning sun
And the diamond-like stars at night.
The rainbow colors of the trees in Fall.
The sunset's luster of rose.
The waltz  of the flowers in three quarter time
Whenever a soft wind blows.
Peaks of the high-rise mountains above,
Completely covered with snow.
Waters rushing to get to the sea
In the streams in the valley below.
These things cause a  light in our hearts
And when the hour  of rest has begun,
Peace and joy envelopes our soul,
Giving thanks to Him through His Son.

When trouble comes, we often say, "Why did this have to be?"
But blessings come in many ways that sometimes we can't see.
Everything that happens is part of God's eternal plan.
Today what seems a mystery in time we'll understand.
Remember prayers are with you to give you strength today.
Call on those of us who love you to share with you along the way.

Only You

It is rewarding to find someone you like,
but it is essential to like yourself.
It is quickening to recognize that someone is
a good and decent human being,
but it is indispensable to view yourself as acceptable.
It is a delight to discover people who are worthy of
respect and admiration and love,
but it is vital to believe yourself deserving of these things.
For you cannot live in someone else.
You cannot find yourself in someone else.
You cannot be given a life by someone else.
Of all the people you will know in a lifetime,
you are the only one you will never leave or lose.
To the question of your life, you are the only answer.
To the problems of your life, you are the only solution."

Circle Of Life

I sat here thinking what life is about.
In my heart I know what counts.
You have to want it, ask and seek.
Love God, family, people who are weak.
Don't give up the battle let sin win.
God gave us the power to believe in Him.
He said if you believe in what I say.
All things are possible along the way.
I have been in circles here and there.
Without the Lord I lived in despair.
I failed in lots of ways I know.
Did not listen to what I was told.
He whip me like an unruly child.
To let me know I left Him a while.
I know I did not pray to Him.
So He left me alone to just sin.
Did not take long for me to know.
The road was empty and I was alone.
Things got real bad as they could be.
I fell on my knees, oh God, help me.
I was lost, now I am found.
God I pray please stay around.
I will be good, forgive me please.
Your touch is all I really need.
I am here to stay in Your Grace.
Whatever my Lord wants me to take.
You won't give more than I can bear.
So Lord I leave it to You up there.

Quiet Moments

All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful, the Lord God made them all.
Each little flower that opens, each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors, He made their tiny wings.
The purple-headed mountain, the river running by,
The sunset, and the morning, that brightens up the sky;
The cold wind in the winter, the pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden, He made them everyone.
He gave us eyes to see them, and lips that we might tell,
How great is God Almighty, who has made all things well.

Pray when things are good,
Pray when you're misunderstood.
Pray when you're happy and glad,
And definitely pray when you're sad.

Pray constantly with confidence,
Pray for wisdom and good sense.
Pray for guidance and direction,
Pray for needed course correction.

Pray to praise God for what He's done,
For providing forgiveness through His Son.
Pray and thank God everyday,
That He showed you salvation's way.

Pray knowing God will answer you,
That's His promise and it's true.
He'll give you what He knows is best,
And in that knowledge you can rest.

Pray knowing God is still in charge,
He can solve your problems small or large.
Pray knowing that God is your friend,
He loves you and His love won't end.

Pray when the sun is shining bright,
Pray in the middle of the night.
You'll find that God is always there,
He'll hear and answer anywhere.

God Knows Best

Lord, stay close by when showers fall upon the plans we make,
Help us to always understand, it's You who gives and takes,
For Your ways are not our ways, and our thoughts are not Yours,
Our plans are sometimes foolish, but Yours is always sure,
Lord, lift us up when showers fall, on plans we thought profound,
Help us to somehow realize, our plans aren't always sound,
To finite minds, we must confess, they seem to meet the test,
But help us, Lord to understand, it's You who knows what's best.

Grandma's Glasses

Two small boys were discussing eye glasses.
"Wouldn't you hate to wear glasses?" one asked.
"No," answered the other,
"Not if I could have the kind my grandma wears!
My mother says she can always see when folks are tired or
discouraged or sad.
She sees when somebody is in need and
she can always recognize when you have something
on your mind that you need to talk over.
But the best of all she can always see
something GOOD in everybody!"
The little fellow continued:
"I asked my grandma one day how it was that
she could see that way.
She said it was because of the way she's learned
to look at things since she's gotten older.
So I'm sure it must be those glasses of hers.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if all of us could see
each other through Grandma's glasses?"

God Is Never Too Far Away

No one ever sought for the Father and found He was not there
And no burden is to heavy to be lightened by prayer
No problem is too intricate and no sorrow that we face
Is to deep and devastating to be softened by His grace

No trials and tribulations are beyond what we can bear
If we share them with our Father as we talk to Him in prayer-
And men of every color every race and every creed
Have but to seek the Father in their deepest hour of need-

God ask for no credentials, He accepts us with our flaws,
He is kind and understanding and He welcomes us because
We are His erring children and He loves us everyone,
And freely and completely forgives all that we have done,

Asking only if we're ready to follow where He leads-
Content in that His wisdom, He will answer all our needs.

Faith In Doubt

Our faith in God is easy when the Waters 'round are stilled,
When the voyage undertaken finds our dreams and hopes fulfilled.

But holding on to God is hard, when wrestling with our doubt,
And when the storms are fiercest, and our boat is tossed about.

It's then our faith is shaken, when the Master's sound asleep,
Not knowing we are sinking, and the waters 'round are deep.

We wonder then how He, who's Lord of all the land and sea,
Could seem to be so unaware of our catastrophe.

It's when our faith seems weakest, God will calm the sea and soul,
And when we are most broken that He'll touch, and make us whole.

Success

To laugh often and much;
to win the respect of intelligent people
and the affection of children;
to earn the appreciation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate beauty;
to find the best in others;
to leave the world a bit better,
whether by a healthy child,
a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.

This is to have succeeded.

Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 - 1882)

You Have A Friend

No one in this whole wide world is without a friend you know.
A friend who watches over you wherever you may go.

You think you are all alone, you cry and wonder why.
Just stop! You have a friend who watches from on high.

He knows each care and burden, each little pain and woe.
He knows everything about you, He is your friend, you know.

************************

Prov. 18:24 says,
A man that hath friends, must show himself friendly...
In other words, if you want to have friends,
you must be friendly to others.
If we want people to like us in spite of our faults,
the converse must be true -- we must be willing to overlook theirs.
Oh, you say you don't have any faults? That's your first one!
To have friends, you must be one.
It may require effort, but it is worth it.
The most important communication,
however, is between you and God.
He is your very best friend.

************************

The Lord has assigned to each his task.
I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.
So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything,
but only God, who makes things grow.
The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose,
and each will be rewarded according to his own labor.
For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field,
God's building.

Prayer:

LORD, help me to always remember that I have a place
and a part in Your plan and a responsibility to fulfill.
I do not want to overemphasize my part ofthe plan and
thus fall prey to the "hero syndrome", but rather,
understand that it takes everyone "doing their part".
I want to fulfill well the responsibility
You have given me even though
I may not always fully comprehend the significance of what
You have given me to do.
I trust You and I know that Your plans for me are
always for my good and the good of others.
In Jesus' name. Amen.

The principles of God's Kingdom and the principles of the world
are vastly different.  Are you devoted to the world's way or
to God's way that comes only out of a love relationship with
Him?  How high are you on the ladder of forgiving others?

************************

Not Yet

"My Lord, is this Your will?"
It's then I hear You answer me,
"My Precious Child... be still."

Sometimes I feel frustrated,
Cause I think I know what's best.
It's then I hear You say to me,
"My busy Child... just rest"

"I know the plans I have for you,
The wondrous things you'll see;
If you can just be patient, Child,
And put your trust in Me.

I've plans to draw you closer.
I've plans to help you grow.
There's much I do you cannot see
And much you do not know.

But know this, Child ..... I LOVE YOU.
You are Precious unto Me.
Before I formed you in the womb,
I planned your destiny.

I've something very special
I hope for you to learn.
The gifts I wish to give to you
Are gifts you cannot earn.

They come without a price tag,
But not without a cost;
At Calvary, I gave Myself,
So You would not be lost.

Rest, Child, and do not weary
Of doing what is good.
I promise I'll come back for you
Just like I said I would.

Your name is written on My palm,
I never could forget;
Therefore, do not be discouraged when
My answer is... "Not Yet"

A lady had recently been baptized, and one of her coworkers
asked her what it was like to be a Christian.
She was caught off guard and didn't know
how to answer, but when she looked up she saw a Jack-o'-lantern
on the desk, she answered: "It's like being a pumpkin."

The worker asked her to explain.
She said, "Well, God picks you from the patch
and brings you in and washes off all the dirt on the outside
that you got from being around all the other pumpkins.
Then He cuts off the top and takes all the yucky out from inside.
He removes all those seeds of doubt, hate, and greed.
Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts
His light inside of you to shine for all to see.

Our choice is to stay outside & rot on the vine -
or come inside and be something new and bright!

The Lord's Face

The Lord's Face is the most lovely to gaze upon.
It is the face of unending rightness.
As it shines upon you, it burns away the fog of confusion...
It moves away the clouds of doubt,
that causes you to question His love...

It dispels the darkness that causes your heart to fear.
His is not a brooding face, but a face as calm as a sea of glass
His is not a hollow face, but a face strong in character,
compassion and grace. Grace for you to grow in...
Grace for you to rest in...Grace for you to joy in...
Grace upon you....Grace Within you....Grace around you.....
Flooding you with Holy Light.

When I Come Home To Heaven

When I come home to heaven
How joyful it will be!
For on that day at last
My risen Lord I'll see.
No greater happiness than
To see Him face to face,
To see the love in His eyes
And feel His warm embrace.

I've done nothing to deserve
That perfect home above.
It was given freely through
The grace of Jesus' love.

Then why should earthly cares
Weigh down upon me so?
They'll be a distant memory
When home at last I go.

Prayer: Lord, I thank you that my sins have been forgiven
and You will not remember them again.
Seeing that You will not remember them,
I also should not remember them.
Help me therefore to keep the past in the past where it belongs,
and take hold of the new life You have given today.
I will never again have to feel ashamed or reluctant to
come to You because of guilt of the past.
Help me to walk fully in the new covenant of forgiveness
and freedom that has been established by Your very blood.
Thank You for making this possible by Your sacrifice.
In Jesus' name. Amen.

And we know that all things work together for good to
them that love God, to them who are the called according
to His purpose. Romans 8:28

Dear Lord, we have thanked You a thousand times for the
beautiful roses in our lives, but very rarely do we ever
thank You for the thorns. Today O God, we come to thank
You for allowing all the pressure, problems and yes even
the pain into our lives, for we realize that without the
difficulties every now and again, we would not have
developed into the people that You wanted us to be. We
thank You that things haven't always gone our way and
that many times we have had to wait for the goodness of
God to be manifested in the midst of a bad situation.

We thank You for the trials, tests and setbacks that have
produced character in us. We thank You for the people
who have hurt us and spoken against us, because through
them we have learned how to forgive and how to reach out
to others with compassion and love. Lord, going through
the dark times in life is never fun and is always scary,
but You have kept your word all these years, that You
would never leave us nor forsake us. So, like David
said, yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow
of death, I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me,
Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.

We have been comforted by Your presence and power, even
though we have dealt with the pain of losing loved ones,
friends, possessions or jobs. Lord, we are saying today
that we are thankful for the thorns that come with the
roses in our lives, the good times and the bad times,
for now we really know that all things work together for
them that love God, for them who are called
according to His purpose.

in Jesus' name, Amen
