God is the final authority here, and I thank Him for you,
and allowing me to share with you in this way.
Lord, please continue to use me to do Thy Will.
Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others.
Keep me strong that I may help the weak and unsaved.
Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others.
May the Holy Spirit always continue to guide me.
I ask for your continued prayers, and please pray for each other

Oh, Give Me Courage...

Oh, give me courage, Lord, today to face what comes along;
Give me the faith and love I need to fill each day with song.
Oh give me courage, Lord, today to follow in Thy way;
Help me to do what I should do, and hear me when I pray.
Oh, give me courage, Lord, today and the strength to do Thy will;
Lead me and guide me, Precious Lord, for I need Thy presence still.
Oh, give me courage, Lord, today, come wash away my pain;
Thou art My Master, Lord, and King, and ever shall remain.

When this life is over I go to meet the Lord in Heaven above,
Where I will be welcomed with arms of love.
Loved ones are waiting there for me,
What a joyous reunion it will be.
I'll finally see Jesus and I will again thank Him for
The gift of salvation and so much more.
We should all give Him thanks and praise Him everyday.
For He is the truth, the life, and the way.
He came into the world not to condemn,
But to save us from our life of sin.
Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord,
Believe in your heart that God raised
Him from the dead and you will be saved.
And after this life is over here on earth you shall be raised.
Raised to meet the Lord in the air.
With open arms He will be waiting there.
The ruler of God's creation called Faithful and True,
Jesus our Savior who died for me and for you.
Scripture tells us in John 3:3,
Verily, verily I say unto thee a man cannot see
The kingdom of God except he be born again,
Give your life to Jesus and turn from your sin.

Names of Jesus - Alpha & Omega

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.  (Rev. 22:13)

In April of 1961, my family attended the first "California Angels" baseball game at the "Big A."  It was with much enthusiasm and hopeful anticipation that we participated in the very first game of this new Southern California team.  You see, my father had made the decision to purchase season tickets for this new team and support them until...well, forever (or so it has seemed at times!)  We were there in the beginning.

My family has been to hundreds of games over the past forty-one years.  In the early years the Angels were a new team, so we offered them a lot of grace when their seasons were not winning ones.  As they matured into a well established franchise, we began to be less charitable in our frustrations over their below average standings in the American league. We have seen more than our share of managerial changes, injuries, trades, promises, price increases and ultimately... disappointments!  Through all the seasons of growth, many fans (some in our own family) gave up on the Angels altogether.
Many turned their loyalties elsewhere and vowed to never support this poor excuse for a baseball team again! But not my father.

My dad was so loyal to his team that in 1991, on his death bed, among the desires he offered his family were  "never give up on the Angels."  To this day, my mother still has those same seats behind the Angels’ dugout.  My husband and I now own a portion of those tickets and have passed the legacy of Angels’ loyalty on to our children.  So you might have guessed that our family, armed with rally monkeys and thunder sticks, were at Game 7 to see the Angels win the World Series!  We were there to celebrate all that had been promised to us in the beginning...yes, we were there in the end!

In Revelation 22:13, Jesus says of Himself, I am the Alpha and the Omega, which are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet, a symbolic way of referring to God and His position as Lord over all history from beginning to end.  Jesus continues on in Revelation 22:13, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.  These titles also belong to God, as we see earlier in the same book of Revelation.: ‘I am the Alpha and the Omega,' says the Lord God, 'Who Is and Who Was As and Who Is to come, the Almighty' (Revelation 1:8)  Jesus Christ is God!

Sometimes in my Christian walk I need to be reminded of whose I am.  Yes, I have accepted Jesus Christ as My Savior, but have I really grasped who He is?  He is the God of the universe and He has already conquered the world! I can rest assured that as He was there in the beginning with God, He is with me along the way, and He will be there in the end, with the greatest victory party to welcome me home!

Like my family's journey with the Anaheim Angels, this path called the Christian life will not always be easy or as you had anticipated, but God is faithful! He has already claimed victory over the world, which include your problems.  In your process of spiritual growth you will have your share of pain, sorrow, injustice, discouragement and major disappointment.  The challenge to you today is to remain passionate about your commitment to Christ. You only need to look at the cross to see how passionate He is about you! In contrast with today's world, your spiritual life does not begin and end with self...it begins and ends with Christ!

Heavenly Father, Most Gracious and Loving God, I pray to You that You abundantly bless me and my family. I know that You recognize, Heavenly Father, that a family is more than just a mother, father, sister, brother, husband, and wife, but all who believe and trust in You. Father I send up a prayer request for a blessing for not only the person who sent this to me, but for me and all that I have forwarded this message to, and that the power of joined prayer by those who believe and trust in You, is more powerful than anything. I thank You in advance for Your blessings Father, for I know how wonderful and mighty You are and how if we just obey You and walk in Your word and have the faith of a mustard seed, that You will pour out blessings. I thank You now Lord for the recent blessings I received and for the blessings yet to come because I know You are not done with me yet.
In Jesus Name, I pray, Amen.

Accustom yourself to the wonderful thought that God loves you with a tenderness, a generosity, and an intimacy which surpasses all your dreams. Give yourself up with joy to a loving confidence in God and have courage to believe firmly that God's action towards you is a masterpiece of partiality and love. Rest tranquilly in this abiding conviction.

The Beautiful Color Of Love

What color is God, asked the child with skin so fair
Is He white like me, does He have light hair?
Is God dark like me, asked the child with skin of golden hue,
Has He hair that's dark and curly, are His eyes black or blue?
I think God is red like me, the Indian boy is heard to say
He wears a crown of feathers, and turns our nights to day
Each one of us knows that God is there in ALL the colors above
But be sure of this, the one color He is, is the beautiful color of love
So when your soul goes to Heaven, when your life comes to its end
He will be waiting, and His hand to you will He extend.
There will be no colors in Heaven, everyone will be the same.
You will only be judged by your earthly deeds, not your color or your name
So when your time comes, and you see God in His Heaven above,
Then you will see the only color that counts, the beautiful color of LOVE.

As a teacher of origami (the ancient Japanese art of paper folding) at the LaFarge Lifelong Learning Institute in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Art Beaudry was asked to represent the school at an exhibit at a large mall in Milwaukee. He decided to take along a couple hundred folded paper cranes to pass out to people who stopped at his booth.

Before that day, however, something strange happened -- a voice told him to find a piece of gold foil paper and make a gold origami crane. The strange voice was so insistent that Art actually found himself rummaging through his collection of origami papers at home until he found one flat, shiny piece of gold foil.
"Why am I doing this?" he asked himself. Art had never worked with the shiny gold paper. It didn't fold as easily or neatly as the crisp multicolored papers. But that little voice kept nudging. Art harrumphed and tired to ignore the voice.
"Why gold foil anyway? Paper is much easier to work with." He grumbled.
The voice continued, "Do it! And you must give it away tomorrow to a special person."
By now Art was getting a little cranky.....

"What special person?" he asked the voice.
"You'll know which one," the voice said.
That evening Art very carefully folded and shaped the unforgiving gold foil until it became as graceful and delicate as a real crane about to take flight.
He packed the exquisite bird in the box along with about 200 colorful paper cranes he'd made over the previous few weeks.
The next day at the mall, dozens upon dozens of people stopped by Art's booth to ask questions about origami. He demonstrated the art. He folded, unfolded and refolded. He explained the intricate details, the need for sharp creases.

Then there was a woman standing in front of Art.
The special person.
Art had never seen her before, and she hadn't said a word as she watched him carefully fold a bright pink piece of paper into a crane with pointed, graceful wings.
Art glanced up at her face, and before he knew what he was doing, his hands were down in the big box that contained the supply of paper cranes.
There it was, the delicate gold-foil bird he'd labored over the night before.
He retrieved it and carefully placed it in the woman's hand.
"I don't know why, but there's a very loud voice inside me telling me I'm supposed to give you this golden crane. The crane is the ancient symbol of peace." Art said simply.
The woman didn't say a word as she slowly cupped her small hand around the fragile bird as if it were alive.
When Art looked up at her face, he saw tears filling her eyes, ready to spill out.
Finally the woman took a deep breath and said,
"My husband died three weeks ago.
This is the first time I've been out. Today...."
She wiped her eyes with her free hand, still gently cradling the golden crane with the other.
She spoke very quietly, "Today is our golden wedding anniversary."
Then the woman said in a clear voice. "Thank you for this beautiful gift.
Now I know that my husband is at peace.
Don't you see? That voice you heard.
It's the voice of God and this beautiful crane is a gift from Him.
It's the most wonderful 50th wedding anniversary present I could have received.
Thank you for listening to your heart."

May the years ahead give you a peaceful ride with the wind...
May the sun light your way as gentle waters carry you to places of undiscovered joys.
From sunrise to sunset...may your day be a journey of the imagination and spirit.
May love and joy rush through your day like a cool mountain stream.
May the path be smooth beneath your feet.
May your heart be as free as the wind!
For the strength of your spirit, the gentleness of your heart, the courage of your dreams, you are greatly admired.

Most of us encounter some kind of roadblock sometime in life's journey. Sometimes it's a short stop, but for others it may be a lingering and persistent delay. Either way, we must learn to cope, armed with the knowledge that God knows what we face and can give us that extra measure of Grace to deal with it

Whether it be a family problem, financial concern or health difficulty, a strong faith in Jesus Christ gives us the impetus to get on with our life in spite of what we face. We often assume that God will surely give us sudden solutions. In Col. 1:11 (niv) we read,

"Being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience." Endurance -- patience? Yes, these are two terms we need in our Christian vocabulary. May God grant us His endurance while we run today's base paths. He will never leave us or forsake us. Lean on Him today.

All Through This Day

All through this day
May the sunlight beam upon you
Bringing to you all the happiness
You have given to others
When tears roll from your face
May God soon turn them to laughter
As He will always be the strength
You can turn to in your hour of need
May you always feel a soft breeze
Upon your face
Or share a cozy afternoon
With those you love
So you'll never take for granted
Any of the Lord's beauty
May your heart always be of love & kindness
By being the giver God wants you to be
So that there will never be a moment
Where hate shall enter
And happiness will always surround you
When you smile today
Know it's because God walks with you
And if by chance sadness to you comes
Place your cares within Him
So that sunlight will once again shine
All through this day
May the Lord watch over you
And may all your tomorrow's
Be brighter then yesterday

It isn't the size of your house as such that matters so much at all. It's the gentle hand and its loving touch, that make it great or small.
The friends who come and the hour they go, who out of your house depart, will judge it not by the style you show, but rather by the size of your heart.
It isn't the size of your head so much,
It isn't the wealth you found, that will make you happy, it's how you touch the lives that are all around.
For making money is not hard.
To live life well is an art.
How people love you, how they regard you is all in the size of your heart.

Desiderata II

In whatever religion you have been taught, however you have been brought up, and however you have understood your teachers, it is not enough that this message be believed. It is a message to be lived! The essence of universal religion is the peace and truth with love for, and kindness to, all the creatures of the earth. Now it is time to express this essence in your own life. A beginning must be made, and the place to begin is with yourself.
You would reform the world? Begin with yourself, brother! The message of the unreformed reformer seldom inspires reformation. The heart of all religion is Love. And righteousness, which is love in action, is the fulfillment of religion. Love not only family and friends! -- for love denied, seek peace within yourself and seek too, within the divine breath of life.
Persist in these things! Do not let up a single moment! Through your faith and through your deeds you shape your life and help shape the lives of others, as well. What a responsibility! The Spirit finds in you its agent, and also its partner, and to the degree that you are aware of this and act on it, your life is enriched. A revelation will occur to you, a revelation higher than your most exalted dreams.
The new age is coming, and in it there will be a realization of the Oneness of all. Differences between the various religions will disappear. The good, which is in each of them, will be fused and will become the common goal of all mankind. Know that you have the power to choose!

Choose Love, not hate;
Choose gentleness, not violence;
Choose holiness, not evil!

Dare to believe that the reign of Love and Peace is coming soon! Ready yourself for it! Ready yourself for it with deeds of righteousness as the door opener. And beyond the door is Love.
May power Divine enter every aspect of your life endowing it with the rewards of material accomplishments, the treasures of purposeful existence, and the Eternal light of spiritual achievement.

Rough Roads Lead To Realizations

And if I did not make mistakes and give too brief a thought to heavy questions
And too much time to little matter; or if I always knew which road to travel
Where every step would lead me into daylight and each face that turned to watch me pass was broken by a smile;
Or if whenever I should choose to lay my heart bare upon the sun-warmed grass,
It always was returned with tender touches and carried by a song;
And if my heaviest burden were only to be a breeze upon my back, and blossom in my hair, and my brow was never crossed with lines of pain;
If all this endless summer were my lot and winter's fury never beat me back,
Then I never would have seen the stormy nights through which I've struggled, fought and won; I never would have known the joy of needed comfort given, or the essence of a friend.

I read recently how a group took a vacation trip through the Rocky Mountains which they had never seen before. They were filled with awe as they marveled at the wonder of the many miles of majestic mountains. However, every time they stopped to enjoy the view, one particular person would slip away by herself. So on one occasion the others decided they would follow her to see what she was up to. They watched her as she walked into the gully. She bent down and reached under a sizable rock, and then turned the rock upside down. She brushed her hands and turned around to walk back up the trail. When she looked up, the entire group was watching her.
"Margaret, what are you doing?" they asked.
"I'm turning over a rock," she replied.
"Why?" they asked. "Do you do that every time?"
She answered, "Yes."
"Why do you do that?"
She replied: "Because I will never pass this way again, and it's my intent to have made a difference while I was here. So I turn some rocks over so that this place is different because I passed here."

A little amusing perhaps...but seriously, I want to make a difference for time and eternity as I pass through the journey of life! I don't think any of us want to have lived in vain. And the best and ultimate way I know to make a difference is to make myself available for God to use every day of my life.
We are not all called to be homemakers, doctors, bakers, dressmakers, preachers, communicators, or whatever, but we are all called to be faithful and when we make ourselves available to God every day, be assured, He will use us to make a big difference in the lives of the people He brings across our path.

As Stephen Grellet so eloquently put it: "I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good thing therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again."

Suggested prayer:
"Dear God, at this the beginning of another New Year, I commit and trust my life to You and am available for Your service. Please use me this year to be as Christ to every life I touch and in so doing make a difference in the world in which I live. Thank You for hearing and answering my prayer.
Gratefully, in Jesus' name, Amen."

Hi God, It is just me again. You know I have this group of friends that I need you to take care of and watch over. They are not from my town, and most are not even in the same state. In fact there are some that live in a different country. They are scattered all over the world. I met them on the internet. We send emails to each other, we chat, and some I have even spoken to on the phone, but most of them, we will never meet face to face, however there are a few that I have been lucky enough
to share a real hug with. It does not matter if we have met or not these people are my friends.

There is so much going on in the world, and it scares me, you see I care about these friends that I have met, and God that is why I am asking You to please watch over them and protect them. I would never have imagined that I could care and even love someone that I have only met online. The truth is loving and truly caring about a person begins in the heart, and it stays inside of the heart.

I ask You God to give my friends happiness and peace, please take care of them, and guide them. Through the internet I have been so lucky to have found friends from all over the world. I have learned that although some of us have different beliefs and we live differently, we are so much alike, all hoping for the same things in life, true happiness.

Please God, Bless each one of these friends that have touched my life in one way or another. Forgive those God that have hurt others, help them learn the true meaning of Love and Friendship. I know that each person that I have met through the internet has been placed in my path for a reason, so I ask You once again God, protect them, guide them, keep them safe, love them and Bless them throughout their lives....

In spite of whatever may happen to you in your day, it's going to be okay. You've made it through difficult times before, right?
Right......and you always land on your feet.
Maybe not dancing; maybe not always sure about what to do next, but you always manage to figure things out. Especially when you're able to keep your sense of humor and not lose your smile. If you really think about it, you'll realize that you are a very strong individual. Someone who may not have all the answers, but who -- at least --is willing to hope and try and believe.
You can see your way through just about anything; it all depends on how you look at it. And when I look at you, I see someone who really is...pretty amazing.

Lord Guide Me

Help me, Lord, that I should know
The way You would have me to go.
Lead me on life's stormy sea
Through all the trials that be.
Give me strength that I may not fail
When I am weak and my ship has no sail.
Guide me through the stormy blast.
Give me courage while life shall last.
Lord, my life belongs to Thee.
Give me faith to stand for Thee.
Lead me when trails are rough and steep
And through waters that are turbid and deep.
Lord, always stay near my side
When trouble comes be Thou my guide.
Lord, I know Your ways are true
In things You speak and deeds You do.
Keep me, Lord, while life does last.
Let my feet not stray from Your path.
Give me a light to lead me home
That in this world of darkness I may cease to roam.
Thank You, Lord, for the guidance given
And the narrow road that leads to Heaven.

Dust if you must. But wouldn't it be better to paint a picture, or write a letter, bake a cake, or plant a seed. Ponder the difference between want and need.
Dust if you must. But there is not much time, with rivers to swim and mountains to climb! Music to hear, and books to read, friends to cherish and life to lead.
Dust if you must. But the world's out there with the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair, a flutter of snow, a shower of rain. This day will not come around again.
Dust if you must. But bear in mind, old age will come and it's not kind. And when you go, and go you must, you, yourself, will make more dust.
Remember, a house becomes a home when you can write "I love you" on the furniture.

Space Walk

I float
Alone with You
My God.
My spirit
Aloft by Your power
Dances light and free
Far above life's cluttered world
Of pain and heaviness.
I move about
Peacefully
Gracefully
Safe in the sustaining suit
Of Your righteousness.
And as I explore
This realm of softest stillness
I need not fear drifting astray
As long as my heart
Hovers tethered close to Yours.
O Lord
Let me yield control
Save that which binds my thoughts to You
So held within Your greater order
I may play
Rest
Amid this vast and heavenly expanse
Of Your Love.

Time heals

The timepiece of life never stops.
Neither does it pause for those who celebrate,
speed up for those who are impatient,
nor slow down for those who fear tomorrow.
Time ticks a regular rhythm that steadily brings new
moments, new days, and new seasons.
As time pushes forward, we take new steps, face new challenges,
and create new opportunities.
And as life goes on, we are forced to move past our episodes
of disappointment, sorrow, or despair.
More than anything else, time heals not just broken bones
but broken hearts as well

Psalm 23

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures;
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil for Thou art with me:
Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
Thou anointest my head with oil;
My cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

The Brick

A young and successful executive was traveling down a neighborhood street, going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar. He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something. As his car passed, no children appeared.
Instead, a brick smashed into the Jag's side door! He slammed on the brakes and drove the Jag back to the spot where the brick had been thrown. The angry driver then jumped out of the car, grabbed the only kid he saw and pushed him up against a parked car shouting,
"What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing? That's a new car and that brick you threw is going to cost a lot of money.
What were you thinking?"
The young boy was apologetic. "Please, mister, please, I'm sorry. I didn't know what else to do," He pleaded. "I threw the brick because no one would stop."
With tears dripping down his face and off his chin, the youth pointed to a spot just around a parked car. "It's my brother," he said. "He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him up."

Now sobbing, the boy asked the stunned executive, "Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He's hurt and he's too heavy for me." Moved beyond words, the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. He hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy back into the wheelchair, then took out his handkerchief and dabbed at the fresh scrapes and cuts. A quick look told him everything was going to be okay.
"Thank you and may God bless you," the grateful child told the stranger.
Too shook up for words, the man simply watched the boy push his wheelchair bound brother down the sidewalk toward their home.
It was a long, slow walk back to the Jaguar. The damage was very noticeable, but the driver never bothered to repair the dented side door. He kept the dent there to remind him of this message: "Don't go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention!"

God whispers in our souls and speaks to our hearts. Sometimes when we don't have time to listen, He has to throw a brick at us. It's our choice. God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.

Take my hand and walk with me, across the sands of time;
Hand in hand and heart to heart, together, friend of mine.
We will share the solitude, and walk in quiet peace;
For my heart hears what your heart says, it listens when yours speaks.
We have shared our hearts and souls as one, in perfect harmony;
The laughter and the tears we have known, are the sweetest melody.
For years have brought us to this place, across the sands of time;
And we will walk here till the end, together, friend of mine

Family Gatherings

Our old farmhouse stands quiet and alone
The love that once lived here all left and gone
The old dining room table faded color with marks of age
Where all my family gatherings always took place
The old window still has a broken pane
Wallpaper all torn and faded but still the room looks almost
the same
I can almost hear the sounds of my family's chatter
And off in a distance, the sounds of childhood laughter
And at mealtime, we all sat at this table and knew our place
And before each meal we always said grace
Here at this old table, we would talk for hours when your day's work was done
And then leave for our evening prayers with the setting sun
And in the early dew filled mornings at this table once again we would meet
Our parents were always there first for their family to greet
And so many times we were too tired and had no place to go
or see
Our family would have a gathering at the old dining room table with chat, coffee, milk and tea
Seems we were all so close a way back in those days
But our youth never lasted - we all went our separate ways
Time sure can pull a family miles apart
But your roots you can never forget
Family gatherings retain in your heart.

A handsome young man applied
for a job as a farmhand. When the old farmer asked for his
qualifications, he replied with an air of confidence I can sleep when the wind blows. The statement puzzled the farmer.
But he liked the pleasant looking young man nevertheless and hired him.
A few days later, the old farmer and his wife were rudely awakened in the night by a violent storm. They quickly began to check things out to see if all was secure. They found that the shutters of the farmhouse had been securely fastened. A good supply of logs had been set next to the fireplace. The farm tools had been placed neatly in the storage shed, safe from the elements. The tractor had been moved into the garage. The barn was properly locked.
Even the animals were calm. The young man slept soundly.
All was well. The farmer then understood the meaning of the young man's words, I can sleep when the wind blows.
Because the farmhand did his work loyally and faithfully when the skies were clear, he was prepared for the storm when it broke loose. So when the wind blew, he was fearless. He slept in peace.
How does this apply to our
lives?
In time, it isn't the things you do, but the things you leave undone, which give you a heartache at the setting of the sun.

May today there be peace within.
May you trust your highest power that you are exactly where you are meant to be....
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you....
May you be content knowing you are a child of God....
Let this presence settle into our bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of you....

An Indian Prayer

Oh, Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the winds.
And whose breath gives life to all the world.
Hear me! I am small and weak.
I need your strength and wisdom.
Let me walk in beauty, and make my eyes
Ever hold the red and purple sunset.
Make my hands respect the things You have made.
My ears sharp to hear Your voice.
Make me wise so that I may understand
The things You might teach me.
Let me learn the lessons You have hidden
In every leaf and rock.
I seek strength, not to be greater than my brother.
But to fight my greatest enemy, myself.
Make me always ready to come to You
With clear hands and straight eyes.
So when life fades, as the fading sunset.
My spirit may come to You without shame.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life...... John 3:16
It's simple, efficient and oh what Heavenly results!

Prayer: Father, thank You for making this so simple and efficient by sending Your son to die for my sins, and as I believe in Him I have eternal life.
In the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!

Is it any wonder that the world is filled with pain
when we set aside the beauty for our own material gain?
Is it any wonder that lovers' hearts grow dim
when we do not hold in honor the love we find within?
Is it any wonder that the homeless are weak and frail
when we put them out of house and home to seek another trail?
Is it any wonder that nature falls to ruin and rubble
because we take with no return allowing it to crumble?
Is it any wonder that children are led astray
because we did not take the time to show the proper way?
Is it any wonder that evil is strong and bold
when we do not see goodness and let our hearts grow cold?
Is it any wonder racism flourishes, my friend,
when we do not see people, but just the color of skin?
Is it any wonder that friendships die and fade
when we forget the reasons in which they were first made?
Is it any wonder our world is scarred and polluted
when we allow our industries to strip it as they're suited?
Is it any wonder there is such depression and sorrow
when we do not seem to care what will happen tomorrow?
Is it any wonder we do not see the values of our brothers
when we hold our own selves above the needs of others?
Is it any wonder our world is like it is
when we sit and grumble with actions we don't give?
Is it any wonder we wait in fear of Judgment Day
when we do the things we do, then forget to pray?

Never Alone

I'm never alone in the morning as I rise at the break of the day,
For Jesus who watched through the darkness says, "Lo, I am with you always".
I'm never alone at my table though loved ones no longer I see:
For dearer than all who have vanished is Jesus who breaks bread with me.
I'm never alone through the daylight, though nothing but trials I see.
Though the furnace be seven times heated the "form of the fourth" walks with me.
I'm never alone at the twilight, when darkness around me doth creep,
And specters press hard round my pillow. He watches and cares while I sleep.
I'm walking and talking with Jesus each day as I travel along.
I'm never alone, Hallelujah! The joy of the Lord is my song.

He's Always Near

How wonderful it is to know that God is always near,
That even just a whispered thought He will most surely hear.
No matter what you're doing nor what the time of day,
He never is to busy to listen as you pray,
No need to kneel at bedside, no need to close your eyes,
You need not even fold your hands, He's always at your side.
Remember just a thought, my friend, of Our Father up above
Will bring you such contentment and will fill your heart with love.

When this life is over I go to meet the Lord in Heaven above,
Where I will be welcomed with arms of love.
Loved ones are waiting there for me,
What a joyous reunion it will be.
I'll finally see Jesus and I will again thank Him for
The gift of salvation and so much more,
We should all give Him thanks and praise Him everyday.
For He is the truth the life and the way.
He came into the world not to condemn,
But to save us from our life of sin.
Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord,
Believe in your heart that God raised
Him from the dead and you will be saved.
And after this life is over here on earth you shall be raised,
Raised to meet the Lord in the air.
With open arms He will be waiting there.
The ruler of God's creation called Faithful and true,
Jesus our Savior who died for me and for you.
Scripture tells us in John chapter three verse three,
Verily, verily I say unto thee a man cannot see,
The kingdom of God except he be born again,
Give your life to Jesus and turn from your sin.

When I was young and free and my imagination had no limits, I dreamed of changing the world.
As I grew older and wiser, I discovered the world would not change, so I shortened my  sights somewhat and decided to change only my country. But it too, seemed immovable.
As I grew into my twilight years, in one last desperate attempt. I settled for changing  only my family, those closest to me, but alas, they would have none of it.
And now as I lie on my death bed, I suddenly realize; if only I had changed myself first, then by example I would have changed my family.
From their inspiration and encouragement, I would then have been able to better my country and, who knows, I may have even changed the world.

For Just A While

For just awhile, I believed in us and our future life together.
I thought we would survive no matter what the weather.
We had it all, it seemed to me. A home, two children, our love.
But, it happened not to be enough, when push came to shove.
Our son was killed tragically, and our minds and hearts were undone
We couldn't get over that hurdle. Our race was never won.
We grieved, and somehow in the loss we lost ourselves as well
What had been happiness and joy turned into a living hell.
Then you died too, and left me here, to finish on my own
I have done my best, my dear to stay on the path alone.

Messages

So many messages rattle in my mind telling me what is good
What is bad, What is safe, What is dangerous.
Some speak truth and others echo lies learned over and over long ago to corrupt my heart and lead me to destruction.
O God You are the Word
The one True Living Word.
Sing Your message of love deep within me
That ever Your call may be sounded
Heard
Obeyed
As the loudest
The Right.

The Wooden Bowl

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year old grandson.
The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered.
The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and failing
sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor.
When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth. The son and
daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess. "We must do something about
Grandfather," said the son. "I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food
on the floor." So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner.
There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner. Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl.
When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometime he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone. Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when
he dropped a fork or spilled food.

The four-year-old watched it all in silence.

One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor.
He asked the child sweetly, "What are you making?"
Just as sweetly, the boy responded, "Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food when I grow up." The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.

The words so struck the parents that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks.
Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done.
That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table.
For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the
tablecloth soiled.

Remind Me

Oh Great Spirit, when I am lonely and perhaps feel despair.....let not my ailing heart forget that You hear my every prayer. Remind me that no matter what I fail to do.....that there is hope for me as long as I have faith in You. May my eyes not be blinded by some mistake I commit but help me to regret my wrongs and make up for it, and inspire me to put away my fears.....not standing alone, and never be sorry for myself with
failure tears.....give me the contentment and wisdom I need before another dawn....and Bless.....me O Great Spirit in the morning with courage to carry on......

The Unlocked Door

In Glasgow, Scotland, a young lady, like a lot of teens today, got tired of home and the restraints of her parents. The daughter rejected her family's religious lifestyle and said, "I don't want your God. I give up. I'm leaving!"
She left home, deciding to become a woman of the world. Before long, however, she was dejected and unable to find a job, so she took to the streets to sell her body as a prostitute.
The years passed by, her father died, her mother grew older, and the daughter became more and more entrenched in her way of life.
No contact was made between mother and daughter during these years. The mother, having heard of her daughter's whereabouts, made her way to the skid-row section of the city in search of her daughter. She stopped at each of the rescue missions with a simple request.
"Would you allow me to put up this picture?"
It was a picture of the smiling, gray-haired mother with a handwritten message at the bottom:
"I love you still...come home!"
Some more months went by, and nothing happened. Then one day the daughter wandered into a rescue mission for a needed meal. She sat absent-mindedly listening to the service, all the while letting her eyes wander over to the bulletin board.
There she saw the picture and thought, Could that be my mother? She couldn't wait until the service was over. She stood and went to look. It was her mother, and there were those words,
"I love you still...come home!"
As she stood in front of the picture, she wept. It was too good to be true.
By this time it was night, but she was so touched by the message that she started walking home. By the time she arrived it was early in the morning.
She was afraid and made her way timidly, not really knowing what to do.
As she knocked, the door flew open on its own. She thought someone must have broken into the house.
Concerned for her mother's safety, the young woman ran to the bedroom and found her still sleeping. She shook her mother awake and said,
"It's me! It's me! I'm home!"
The mother couldn't believe her eyes. She wiped her tears and they fell into each other's arms. The daughter said, "I was so worried! The door was open and I thought someone had broken in!"

The mother replied gently,
"No dear. From the day you left, that door has never been locked."

He Lights Our Way

When we can't see the road ahead or know which path to take,
Our God is faithful and sincere to light our journey's way.
Our steps are lightened by His love and seasoned by His grace.
Each new day belongs to Him, to Him belongs the praise.
Without God's touch upon our lives, our future would be dim...
But we have faith to see us through; we've placed our trust in Him.

Jill Lemming

Then God said: "Let there be light," and there was light. Genesis 1:3

Old Age And Memories

When shades of night begin to fall,
And shadows lengthen on the wall,
My thoughts roll back to days of yore;
Like waves that gently lap the shore.
The youth I lost, so long ago.
Just where it went, I do not know.
Too soon, a young man took his place.
Then, age replaced that smiling face.
The child I raised, from very birth,
Has gone to find his place on earth.
He, too, will find that time flies by.
'Tis but a twinkle of God's eye.
I live my memories, o'er and o'er,
And wonder if I could have done more.
Not one of those days were perfect spent.
And yet, the next was duly sent.
I tried and tried, with all my might,
But never did get one just right.
I've lived for many thousand days;
A testament to God's patient ways.
And now, my memories, good and bad,
Remind me of the chance I had
To live my life the way I should;
To shun the bad, embrace the good.
And yet, I trod the time worn road.
I walked alone, with heavy load;
Too proud to think that God would care,
My many burdens to gladly share.
And then, one day, I was wholly spent.
So, down from Heaven, His Son He sent.
Not only did He lift my earthly load,
But put me back on the narrow road.
So now, my mind is full at ease,
No longer tossed like heavy seas.
Whatever life, now, has in store,
I have a haven on yonder shore.
It's not a prize that I have won,
But the gift, from God, of His precious Son.

Time Heals

The timepiece of life never stops. Neither does it pause for those who celebrate, speed up for those who are impatient, nor slow down for those who fear tomorrow.
Time ticks a regular rhythm that steadily brings new moments, new days, and new seasons. As time pushes forward, we take new steps, face new challenges, and create new opportunities.
And as life goes on, we are forced to move past our episodes of disappointment, sorrow, or despair. More than anything else, time heals not just broken bones but broken hearts as well.
