God is the final authority here, and I thank Him for you,
and allowing me to share with you in this way.
Lord, please continue to use me to do Thy Will.
Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others.
Keep me strong that I may help the weak and unsaved.
Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others.
May the Holy Spirit always continue to guide me.
I ask for your continued prayers, and please pray for each other

Oh the lovely mountain, I see.
It's so clear, vivid to me.
In the distance, yet so near.
Can I reach the top or will I tumble and fall.
Never, for now I know I would stand tall.
For at last I would feel at home. It would be my final destiny.
My ultimate self-being.
Free like a bird.
I would feel like I could do anything.
Oh the path seems ever so steep.
Winding can I reach.
For me this means to finally feel like I've won,
For once in my life. Not for anyone else.
This is just for me.
To be able to see from that mountaintop ever so clear.
Not to look back, not to fear.
Just to see on and on, then I could stand tall.
Believe in me.
You can find your mountain too; these are the choices we make.
To realize I've made this journey of life,
Stood tall and conquered it all in someway.
This to me would be the ultimate moment.
You to can conquer this mountain and win.
Make your choices wisely
From the heart
Be you
Learn to love
Never lose yourself.
If you should
Turn to God, your family, friends even your enemies.
Go forth make your journey to that mountain, come join me.
For I know surely I'll make it someday to the top.
Follow your heart

Winter Morning Guest

One winter morning in 1931, I came down to breakfast, and found the table empty. It was cold outside. The worst blizzard on record had paralyzed the city. No cars were out. The snow had drifted up two stories high against our house, blackening the windows. "Daddy, what's happening?" I asked. I was six years old. Gently Dad told me our fuel and food supplies were exhausted. He'd just put the last piece of coal on the fire. Mother had eight ounces of milk left for my baby brother Tom. After that, nothing. "So what are we going to eat?" I asked. "We'll have our devotions first, John Edmund," he said, in a voice that told me I should not ask questions. My father was a pastor. As a Christian he'd been chased out of his Syrian homeland. He arrived as a teenager in the United States with no money and barely a word of English, nothing but his vocation to preach. He knew hardship of a kind few see today. Yet my parents consistently gave away at least 10 percent of their income, and no one but God ever knew when we were in financial need. That morning, Dad read the scriptures as usual, and afterwards we knelt for prayer. He prayed earnestly for the family, for our relatives and friends, for those he called the "missionaries of the cross" and those in the city who'd endured the blizzard without adequate shelter. Then he prayed something like this: "Lord, Thou knowest we have no more coal to burn. If it can please Thee, send us some fuel. If not, Thy will be done - we thank Thee for warm clothes and bed covers, which will keep us comfortable, even without the fire. Also, Thou knowest we have no food except milk for Baby Thomas. If it can please Thee..." For someone facing bitter cold and hunger, he was remarkably calm. Nothing deflected him from completing the family devotions, not even the clamor we now heard beyond the muffling wall of snow. Finally someone pounded on the door. The visitor had cleared the snow off the windowpane, and we saw his face peering in. "Your door's iced up," he yelled. "I can't open it." The devotions over, Dad jumped up. He pulled; the man pushed. When the door suddenly gave, an avalanche of snow fell into the entrance hall. I didn't recognize the man, and I don't think Dad did either because he said politely, "Can I help you?" The man explained he was a farmer who'd heard Dad preach in Allegan three years earlier. "I awakened at four o'clock this morning," he said, "and I couldn't get you out of my mind. The truck was stuck in the garage, so I harnessed the horses to the sleigh and came over." "Well, please come in," my father said. On any other occasion, he'd have added, "And have some breakfast with us." But, of course, today there was no breakfast. The man thanked him. And then, to our astonishment, he plucked a large box off the sleigh. More than sixty years later, I can see that box as clear as yesterday. It contained milk, eggs, butter, pork chops, grain, homemade bread and a host of other things. When the farmer had delivered the box, he went back out and got a cord of wood. Finally, after a very hearty breakfast, he insisted Dad take a ten dollar bill. Almost every day Dad reminded us that "God is the Provider." And my experience throughout adult life has confirmed it. "I have never seen the righteous forsaken nor their children begging bread." (Psalm 37:25) The Bible said it. But Dad and Mom showed me it was true.

When you hurt. It matters.
The sun doesn't feel as warm. The moon loses its luster.
The stars lack their usual radiance and seconds seem like an eternity.
When you hurt...
Nothing sounds as sweet.
Little ballerinas on music boxes don't twirl so daintily,
And funny movies, cause tears to emerge.
When you hurt.
Imagination and curiosity retreat.
No bell rings when an angel receives their Wings,
And fairy tales, have no "happily ever after."
When you hurt.
It doesn't help to hear that "I hurt too."
Because the possibility of another in so much pain, seems impossible.
When you hurt. It matters.
So much that, I'm not going away.
Even if you tell me to.
Even if you shut the door.
Even if "silence" is all you can offer.
Even if my outstretched hand is too scary for you to reach for.
When you hurt. It matters,
And I will be there. Because you did the same for me.
And, it mattered

When you are down to nothing, God is up to something! Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible!
Thank God for our physical and our spiritual nourishment!
I think everyone should read this!!
When Satan is knocking at your door, simply say, "Jesus, could you get that for me?"
Matthew 6:33 But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

We can say any words we want with our voice, but we cannot hide the true meaning and the true spirit behind the words. The true meaning is always understood. The voice is heard in the physical world, but the meaning is transmitted in the spiritual world. If our voice says one thing but the heart is saying something else, it's the something else that is heard. It is said that the truth will set you free. Reaching the truth means your voice and your words will be in alignment with the heart.

Great Spirit, let my tongue speak the truth today.

He's Everywhere

I know that He is everywhere. I see His touch each day.
I feel His love surround me, as I travel on my way.
Sometimes the road I travel becomes a hill for me to climb.
But if I keep Him in my heart, He'll help me every time.
My burden gets quite heavy at times throughout my life.
Down on my knees I ask for help, and He lifts from me the strife.
I'm thankful that I have Him. He's there for all who need someone that they can lean on. If you follow He shall lead.

You Are...

You are strong...when you take your grief and teach it to smile.
You are brave...when you overcome your fear and help others to do the same.
You are happy...when you see a flower and are thankful for the blessing.
You are loving...when your own pain does not blind you to the pain of others.
You are wise...when you know the limits of your wisdom.
You are true...when you admit there are times you fool yourself.
You are alive...when tomorrow's hope means more to you than yesterday's mistake.
You are growing...when you know what you are but not what you will become.
You are free...when you are in control of yourself and do not wish to control others.
You are honorable...when you find your honor is to honor others.
You are generous...when you can take as sweetly as you can give.
You are humble...when you do not know how humble you are.
You are thoughtful...when you see me just as I am and treat me just as you are.
You are merciful...when you forgive in others the faults you condemn in yourself.
You are beautiful...when you don't need a mirror to tell you.
You are rich... when you never need more than what you have.
You are you...when you are at peace with who you are not.

Helping Others:

Breaking the "I" Syndrome

When we are hurting in some way, helping others is the last thing we would normally think about. Yet, it is through our pain we can reach out most effectively to relate to what others are going through. There are many ways this can be done, and each of
us is uniquely qualified in some area.
Think about when you are going through a difficulty in your life. Whom do you feel closest to, the friend who has experienced a like circumstance to yours or the one who has never had that problem? The person who shares in some measure what we are experiencing at the moment, of course. No one can say and be truthful, "I know exactly what you are going through" because we are different emotionally. One person falls apart under a burden while it runs off someone else's back, so to speak.
For instance, I have experienced blindness and epilepsy during my lifetime, so I am able to empathize especially with those who have gone through these two events.
But I cannot downgrade how they are feeling about themselves because my epilepsy is under control and theirs is not. Everyone reacts differently to what they are going through so my job is to listen first of all, then perhaps relate how I have been helped if the opportunity arises. However, they may not be ready to hear that part yet, so I must be sensitive to where they are at in their journey with epilepsy.
You may have gone through a painful divorce, or lost a loved one through cancer. You can choose to keep to yourself about this, or you can be watchful for others who are having a hard time dealing with these circumstances. It may be painful to relate what you went through, but that is where the empathy connects...at the pain. John Donne, the poet wrote once: "No man is an island unto himself." We have all experienced life in different ways. Won't you reach out and help someone in your sphere of influence.
A blessing is waiting for you there.

You Sent Me

You sent me a brother or sister to pray
When trouble o'er took me as I journeyed life's way.
You sent me encouragement to keep pressing on
Through the darkness of night, to look forward to dawn.
Then you sent me to someone who was deep in despair
To give what was given, your love and your care.

Glorious Morning

My morning began with the song of the robin telling me spring is here
A look out my window, I see my friend, his message clear
Then came my friend red bird joining in with the chorus, with his sweet melodic word.
How glorious the morning song makes me know,
God is in His Heaven and He will right the wrong.
Spring is the renewal of all, a new beginning to embrace and answer Mother Earth's call. Time to plant the seeds of life for God's creatures and flowers alike.

Forever Near

As we walk along our path of life, we meet people everyday,
Most are simply met by chance, but some are sent our way.
These become the special friends whose bond we can't explain,
The ones who understand us and share our joy and pain.
Their love contains no boundaries, so even when apart,
Their presence still embraces us with a warmth felt in the heart.
This love becomes a passageway where even the miles disappear,
And the special friends life sends our way remain forever near.

Coincidence Or Miracle

I was asked the other day if I believed in coincidences. I said, “No I don’t believe that there are any coincidences in this life. I do believe that there are miracles in this life, however. I see more proof of them everyday.”
Just look at the world around us. Is it a coincidence that the sun rose so beautifully today, that it filled countless hearts and souls with wonder, love, peace, and joy? It seemed more like a miracle to me. Is it a coincidence that life developed so intelligently and perfectly on this world?
Is it coincidences that birds know to fly south each winter, that the seasons change and flowers bloom each spring, and that thousands upon thousands of different plants and animals live, grow, and thrive here? It seems to me more like a hundred million miracles created by a glorious, joyous mind and a loving hand.
Look at your own lives as well. Is it a coincidence that you accidentally walked into the wrong room and met the person who changed your life and blessed you with love?
Is it a coincidence that you followed a silent urge to turn off the road before you had to and later learned you avoided a deadly accident because of it? Is it a coincidence that you were on the verge of despair and then heard a song, or read a line, or got a call that lifted your spirits and strengthened your soul once again? Are they all coincidences or are they all little miracles created by God and His angels to guide you, protect you, and help you to ever greater love, joy, and goodness in your life?
Embrace the miracles in your life then. Embrace the miracle of life. Rejoice in these miracles and use them to choose and share even more love and joy with others.
Celebrate in the knowledge that you are loved, cared for, and watched over by God and always remember that.....Life is full of miracles not coincidences.

"Could You?"

Could you describe the sky to a person without sight,
the gift of shades and shadows you receive each day and night?

Could you depict the freedom of walking down the street
to a person who has never had the use of their two feet?

Could you express the comfort of sleeping in a bed
to someone who does not have a place to lay their head?

Could you explain the pleasure of a satisfying meal
to a child who has never known the fullness that you feel?

Could you, in all honesty, with good and truthful measure,
say that you are thankful and consider life a treasure?

Could you?

And So I Choose.....

I Choose Love...
No occasion justifies hatred. No injustice warrants bitterness.
Today I will love God and what God loves.

I Choose Joy....
I will invite my God to be the God of circumstance.
I will refuse temptation to be cynical, the tool of the lazy thinker.
I will refuse to see people as anything less than human beings, created by God.
I will refuse to see any problem as anything less than an opportunity to see God.

I Choose Peace...
I will live forgiven. I will forgive so that I may live.

I Choose Patience...
I will overlook the inconveniences of the world, rather than complaining that the wait is too long.
I will thank God for a moment to pray, and instead of clenching my fist at new assignments, I will face them with joy and courage.

I Choose Kindness...
I will be kind to the poor, for they are alone. Kind to the rich, for they are afraid.
And kind to the unkind, for such is how God has treated me.

I Choose Goodness...
I will go without a dollar before I take a dishonest one.
I will see the good in others when it is hard to find.
I will confess before I will accuse. I choose goodness.

I Choose Faithfulness...
Today I will keep my promises.
My debtors will not regret their trust.
My associates will not question my word.
My wife will not question my love, and my children
Will never fear that their father will not come home.

I Choose Gentleness...
Nothing is won by force, I choose to be gentle.
If I raise my voice, may it be only in praise.
If I clench my fist, may it be only in prayer.
If I make a demand, may it be only of myself.

I Choose Self-Control... I am a spiritual being.
After this body is dead, my spirit will soar. I refuse to let what will, rot the eternal.
Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness,
Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control...
To these I commit my day.
If I succeed. I will give thanks. I will seek God's face.
And then when this day is done, I will place my head on my pillow and rest.

I'd Rather See A Sermon

I'd rather see a sermon than hear one any day;
I'd rather one should walk with me than merely tell the way.
The eye's a better pupil and more willing than the ear,
Fine counsel is confusing, but examples always clear.
And the best of all the preachers are the men who live their creeds,
For to see good put in action is what everybody needs.
I soon can learn to do it, if you'll let me see it done;
I can watch your hands in action, but your tongue too fast may run.
And the lecture you deliver may be very wise and true,
But I'd rather get my lessons by observing what you do.
For I might misunderstand you and the high advice you give,
But there's no misunderstanding how you act and how you live.
When I see a deed of kindness, I am eager to be kind.
When a weaker brother stumbles and a strong man stays behind
Just to see if he can help him, then the wish grows strong in me
To become as big and thoughtful as I know that friend to be.
And all travelers can witness that the best of guides today
Is not the one who tells them, but the one who shows the way.
One good man teaches many, men believe what they behold;
One deed of kindness noticed is worth forty that are told.
Who stands with men of honor learns to hold his honor dear,
For right living speaks a language which to every one is clear.
Though an able speaker charms me with his eloquence, I say,
I'd rather see a sermon than to hear one, any day.

Why

Why command the waves to halt, in their endless march to the shore
Instead find serenity in the constant soothing rhythm of their parting
Why tell the moon to break its journey across the darkened sky
Instead be fascinated by the shadows cast by the moon's silvery light
Why ask the brook to cease its tumbling rush for the distant sea
Instead surrender to the joyful sounds created by the bubbling chatter
Why call upon the river to relinquish its will to ramble over the land
Instead marvel at the power and grandeur in the river's might breadth
Why direct the winds to save its breath and pause to rest its unbounded whirling
Instead know the soft caress and gentle kiss of the cooling breeze upon your skin
Why implore the rain to dry its tears and end the shower of sorrow it releases
Instead rejoice in the profusion of wild flowers nourished by the weeping clouds passing by
Why question the sun for rising with the dawn setting with the twilight or playing peek-a-boo with the clouds
Instead feel the warmth of golden rays knowing it will ascend once more laughing with the chase
Why study the stars to know their source and map their nightly scheme
Instead make a wish upon the brightest star and take delight in their promenade
Why wonder at all you see before you and the things you cannot understand scattered throughout this vast and far reaching land
Instead be grateful and thankful for the splendor of all your eyes behold, knowing it was made possible....by His hand

The Lamplight

In this world of haste and hurry where there seems no time for Thee,
Lord, look upon Thy people and draw all close, I plead.
We're prone to wander aimlessly when there is none to guide,
But when we know our Savior, Christ, there's purpose in our lives.
In this world where doubt and worry seem to have the upper hand,
Lord, look upon the masses in Thy created lands.
Midst suffering and heartache, oh, be the lamplight still,
That hearts might be inspired, Lord, to do Thy holy will.

Jesus truly is the joy of life!
May your heart be filled to overflowing with His perfect love.

Jesus............

Through His incarnation we came face to face with mercy.....
Through His life we came to know the heart of God.....
Through His resurrection we came to experience the joy of salvation.

May the blessings of the Savior rest upon you, refreshing your heart, renewing your hope, revealing again His grace and His love.

There is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live, and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

Sometimes the best sermons are the ones left unspoken. What silent message would God have you share with someone today? "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in Heaven."  Matthew 5:16

A man may go to Heaven without health, without wealth, without fame, without a great name, without learning, without earnings, without culture, without beauty,
without friends and without ten thousand other things.
But he can never go to Heaven without Christ.

In the Beginning ....... GOD

The Heavens declare the glory of GOD. This world is His for He made it.
He bound the seas, made mountains rise, and the desert stayed where He laid it.
He hung the sun without wire and hook. The moon was His lantern by night.
Such gifts signify good reason why I should make His commands my delight.

As I watch My children on earth, I look upon them with love, the love of their Father. I want to share with them My love and bring them to dwell with Me in My house of eternal joy. All it takes for this to happen is an acceptance of My love by My children.
Once they accept My love, then they will come to know what true life is.

A Tree

A tree is life.....the fullness of the earth
Bearing fruit in its season after its kind as God once commanded long, long ago.
A tree is power, stately might and majesty reaching high to Heaven while letting a little child play in its branches.
And a tree is shelter, shade in the heat, a home for the birds
Under which the longing heart may speak with the Creator. Safe and alone.
O Lord, You are my Shelter......My Power.....My Life
May ever Your love grow tall.....and perfect......Deep within my soul.

Morning Talk With Jesus

Dear Lord, Please give me another fine day,
With warm sunshine to brighten all my way;
Fill my heart with joy, paint smiles on my lips
And lighten my burden in all my steps.

Let me see the little things I pass by
Your handiwork under the azure sky,
To inspire me to do even little things,
For all big deeds have humble beginnings.

Let me hear all Your sageful messages,
In whispers of breeze and swaying of trees,
In soft murmurs of distant waterfalls
And sweet music of the birds' mating calls.

Let my heart soften to all hapless ones
Empathy my approach to everyone
And let my strong hands ready to extend
The strength You gave me, to them I shall lend.

Let me live Your commandments all the time
And radiate soothing kindness to mankind,
That my footstep may glitter on the way,
To guide lonely souls who have gone astray.

Whisper Jesus

Today I got a burden, and I felt that I should pray
For God's spirit seemed to tell me, that you were having a bad day.
I don't know what the problem is, but I sure do know the cure
And if you'll only let Him, God will keep you safe and secure.
In life there's always problems cropping up to spoil our day
But my friend you know the answer all you have to do is pray.
If you still feel you're defeated and you want to run and hide
Just reach out and I'll be there standing right there by your side.
So remember, Whisper Jesus, for He's just a prayer away,
He's so close that you can touch Him, all you have to do is pray.

Honor all your relations

"Why Jesus?"

JESUS was born, that I might be born twice.
HE became poor, that I might possess wealth.
HE became homeless, that I might have mansions.
HE was stripped, that I always should have clothes.
HE was forsaken, that I always should have friends.
HE was bound, that I might have perfect liberty.
HE was sad, that I might have full joy.
HE descended, that I should be lifted up.
HE became a servant, that I might be a son forever.
HE was hungry, that I should always have food.
HE was made sin, that I should share HIS righteousness.
HE died, that I should never taste Eternal death.
HE will come down, that I might go up.
All of this......that...........
HE might display in me the riches of HIS grace and be the companion of God in the Heavenlies

I will live through the next 12 hours and not try to tackle all of life's problems at once.
I will improve my mind, I will learn something useful.
I will learn something that requires effort, thought and concentration.
I will be agreeable. I will look my best, speak in a well- modulated voice, be courteous and considerate.
I will not find fault with friend, relative or colleague.
I will not try to change or improve anyone but myself.
I will have a program. I might not follow it exactly, but I will have it.
I will save myself from two enemies, hurry and indecision.
I will do a good turn and keep it a secret. If anyone finds out, it won't count.
I will do two things I don't want to do, just for the exercise.
I will believe in myself. I will give my best to the world and feel confident that the world will give its best to me.

************************

Just close your eyes and open your heart,
And feel your worries and cares depart.
Just yield yourself to the Father above,
And let Him hold you secure in His love.
For life on earth grows more involved,
With endless problems that can't be solved.
But God only ask us to do our best,
Then He will take over and finish the rest.
So when you are tired, discouraged, and blue,
There is always one door that is open to you.
And that is the door to The House of Prayer,
And you'll find God waiting to meet you there.
And The House of Prayer is no further away,
Than the quiet spot where you kneel and pray.
For the heart is a temple when God is there,
As we place ourselves in His Loving Care.
And He hears every Prayer and answers each one,
When we Pray in His Name, Thy Will Be Done.
The burdens that seemed too heavy to bear,
Are lifted away on the Wings Of A Prayer.

Drop a pebble in the water,
And its ripples reach out far;
And the sunbeam dancing on them
May reflect them to a star.
Give a smile to someone passing,
Thereby making his morning glad;
It may greet you in the evening
When your own heart may be sad.
Do a deed of simple kindness;
Though its end you may not see,
It may reach, like widening ripples,
Down along eternity.

Your faith is never so lost in a storm it cannot sail high on the seas.
Your prayers are never so long forgotten you cannot get down on your knees.

Tears Are A Language

There is not a person among us who does not speak this language.
We may be from different parts of the world and share different cultures, yet we all speak this same language.
The language that I am referring to is the
"Language Of Tears."
Tears oftentimes say more than words can ever express.
In fact, there are times when we find that we cannot speak, but, Oh Thank God, our tears do flow.
We have encountered times when we were so low in our spirits and could not express the pain or heartache that we felt deep down in our soul, but with uplifted faces toward Heaven, we simply let our tears speak rivers of words that only God Our Heavenly Father could interpret, for He is the maker of these "sparkling gems."
Tears! Tears! Tears!
What becomes of our tears?
Are they simply poured out in vain?
To what purpose are all our tears?
Psalm 126:5 says, "They that sow in tears will reap with songs of joy."
All the tears that drop from our eyes and roll down our cheeks are precious seeds that God catches and bottles up for a forthcoming harvest.
Just as rain prepares the ground to receive the seed, our tears prepare the ground, and, at the same time, are the seeds planted for a mighty harvest.
Oh Christian! God sees and counts all those tears! They are precious in His sight!
They speak words unutterable to us but understandable to God!
They are precious seeds for our harvest.
If we do not grow weary, we shall reap in due season if we faint not.
We shall reap!
Our answers to prayer will come!
They that sow in tears shall reap in joy!
We shall reap in joy!
God will make us to hear joy and gladness once again. (Psalm 51:8)
Look at the woman who travails in childbirth. She has sorrow for a time but when the baby is born, she remembers no more the anguish for the joy. (John 16:21)
God promises to turn our mourning into joy. (Jeremiah 31:13)
It's not always going to be this way things are going to change.

"The"
The is an expression that makes plain what is shifty and unknown.
It is certainty, definiteness, and preeminence.
Simple, but impossible to fully define or understand.
It is seen and spoken everywhere more than any other utterance
And yet seldom noticed for the beauty it is.
"The"
That force of communication which stands as the difference
Between an answer and the Answer
A truth and the Truth
A work and the Work
A love and the Love
For that which joins this humblest of words and lets it go before
It's given special greatness, special consideration.
So then what shall I say of the one great Certainty above all reality
The definiteness of all definiteness
Preeminence of all preeminence
Mysterious and omnipresent
But often ignored by those who seem more important?
What shall I think of that Strength which reigns
As the Way
The Truth
The Life
The Love?
For all who let Him guide before
He grants for them their true meaning and purpose
As not merely children of any name
But The children Of The One
The Eternal
The Almighty
The.

God isn't alarmed when we hit rock bottom.
He made the rock.
There are times in our lives when we feel there is no way up or out.
Illness. Poverty. Confusion. Loneliness. Desperation.
They take us to a place called "rock bottom."
In these times you may feel weak and vulnerable, and it is easy to lose faith in your ability to go on.
It is exactly in these times that you must turn to the infinite power within yourself.
You must know that the answer is exactly where you are.
The strength you need, the answer you want, the solution that will turn the situation around, is you.
If you can put aside the anger, fear, weakness and desperation for just a minute, you will remember the "other times" you were at the bottom and how in a moment, miraculously, you were lifted up.
There is no spot where God is not.

Let Go

This world holds nothing so dear that Christ cannot give us more:
His love, His peace, His joy....far more than heart could implore.
Our lives lose much He has for us as we cling to our earthly ties:
In Him are pleasures forevermore, let go....for Christ satisfies!

You Must
When faith grows dim in the darkest night,
You must believe that God makes things right.
When belief is strong and joy surrounds,
You must believe God's goodness abounds.
When prayers go up to heaven above,
You must believe God responds with love.
When it may seem He doesn't hear,
You must believe God's always near.
You must believe God has a plan which
We're a part but don't understand.
You must believe your prayers are heard.
You must believe and accept God's Word.

On Forgiveness

I have felt the hot sunshine and been dampened by the evening rain and chilled by the winters cold and always felt much pain. And I have climbed the highest mountain I could ever find, searching for contentment and my peace of mind. And for all life's tragedies that I have been through, my heart has turned cold, but my heart and spirit has always been true. For I alone cannot control what others may say or do. I only pray to the Great Spirit for my strength and to also guide other's paths, toward goodness and to see them through

A Frail Old Angel Cry

Last night I had a dream it had a tale to tell.
I dreamed I saw an angel; poor thing, he wasn't feeling well.
His body bruised and battered,
His wings were ripped and torn.
He could hardly walk,
He looked so tired and worn.
I walked right up to him to ask;
Angel? How can this be?
He turned around and paused a bit,
Then he spoke these words to me:
"I'm your Guardian Angel,
A great task as you can see.
You've run amok most all your life:
Look what it's done to me.
These bruises are from shielding you
In times both dire and ill.
Those alcoholic bouts and drugs you've used
I've often paid the bill
You see my wings are ripped and torn;
How often they have flown you
From evils unaware.
Each mark is its own story
of deadly wounds destroyed.
You made me wish--more than once-
That I was unemployed.
If only you could make it
Standing on your own; Oh, don't you fret or worry--
but please try to remember--
I'm getting old and frail.
I could not believe all I had heard,
Let alone how much he cared.
I wept upon his shoulder,
Then left him in despair.
The next day I sat and pondered:
Should I really try?
And in the distance I thought I heard;
A frail old angel cry.

Love vs Obligation

A house is a house is a house, until love comes through the door, that is. And love intuitively goes around sprinkling that special brand of angel dust that transforms a house into a very special home for very special people: your family.
Money, of course, can build a charming house, but only love can furnish it with a feeling of home.
Duty can pack an adequate sack lunch, but love may decide to tuck a little love note inside.
Money can provide a television set, but love controls it and cares enough to say no and take the guff that comes with it.
Obligation sends the children to bed on time, but love tucks the covers in around their necks and passes out kisses and hugs (even to teenagers!).
Obligation can cook a meal, but love embellishes the table with a potted ivy trailing around slender candles.
Duty writes many letters, but love tucks a joke or a picture or a fresh stick of gum inside.
Compulsion keeps a sparkling house. But love and prayer stand a better chance of producing a happy family.
Duty gets offended quickly if it isn't appreciated. But love learns to laugh a lot and to work for the sheer joy of doing it.
Obligation can pour a glass of milk, but quite often love will add a little chocolate.

Glass Reflections

"When you get what you want in your struggle for self,
And the world makes you king for a day,
Just go to the mirror and look at yourself,
And see what that guy has to say.
For it is not your friends, parents, husband or wife,
Whose judgment you must pass,
The person whose verdict counts most in your life,
Is the one staring back from the glass.
You may be like Jack Horner and chisel a plum,
While enjoying a slice of Life's pie,
But the image in the glass says you're only a bum,
If you can't look it straight in the eye.
You are the person to please, never mind all the rest,
For you shall be there clear to the end,
And you've passed your most dangerous, difficult test,
If the guy in the glass is your friend.
You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years,
And get pats on the back as you pass,
But your final reward will be heartache and tears,
If you've cheated the guy in the glass."

The old people say, "Learn from your mistakes." So I try to accept everything for what it is and to make the best of each situation one day at a time."

Dr. A.C. Ross (Ehanamani), Lakota

The Creator did not design us to beat ourselves up when we make mistakes. Mistakes are our friends. It is from mistakes that we learn.
The more mistakes we learn from, the faster we gain wisdom.
The faster we gain wisdom, the more we love.
The more we love, the fewer our mistakes.
Therefore, mistakes help us to learn love.
God is love.
Mistakes are sacred and help us learn about God's will for ourselves.

Great Spirit, help me, today, to learn from my mistakes.

The Lord Keeps You Safe

You Lord, are the light that keeps me safe. I am not afraid of anyone. You protect me, and I have no fears. I ask only one thing Lord, let me live in Your house everyday of my life to see how wonderful You are, and to pray in Your temple.

In times of trouble, You will protect me. You will hide me in Your tent and keep me safe on top of a mighty rock. Be brave and strong and trust the Lord

Psalm 27: 4,5,14

A moth, fluttering and flying
Dazzled by the light of a candle
Hits the flame and dies
And I, drawn to the light of Christ
Drawn to the light of love
Throw myself into the flame
And die, yes, die to self
Then from the flame of Christ
I rise to live a new life

Letting Go

Things often happen in your life that you find hard to accept.
Thoughts come back to trouble you time and time again.
When something happens in your life that you find difficult to accept, you must decide if there is anything you can do to change things.
If there is, you must do what you can to make things right again.
But if you have done all you can, and you know it in your heart that there is nothing more you can do about it now, then you should let go of whatever is troubling you.
After going over all the 'what ifs' and 'whys' you may learn a valuable lesson.
And you will find that even though it was painful, you grew through the experience.
Just learning to let things go, rather than worrying about what might have been, might eventually be worth even more than whatever you had to let go of.

When I think of how many people in this world have it worse than I do. I realize just how lucky most of us really are.

Lord, Let Me Be

Let me be a lamp unto the feet of my brother
That I may help him through the hard times
When rain falls down upon him
Let him know I will lift him up
When his load is too heavy to bear
When his steps are weary
And no comfort can be found

Let me be as a breeze unto the back of my brother
That I may help him through turbulent times
When the world rises up against him
When the waves get too high
And the harbor seems so far away
Let him know I am a safe shore
And will help him to find firmer ground

Let me be an answer to the prayer in my brother's heart
That I may have served some purpose here
Not only to those whom I love
But also to my brothers I have never met
Let me walk each day in the knowledge
That no man ever walks alone, and
Live life to the fullest until the trumpet's last sound.

Lord, Let Me Be....
