A song of ascents. Of David.
How good and pleasant it
is when brothers live together in unity!
It is like precious oil poured on the head,
running down on the beard, running down on Aaron's beard,
down upon the collar of his robes.
It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion.
For there the LORD bestows His blessing, even life forevermore.

Prayer:
LORD, I will make every effort to live in peace with those who
are my brothers and sisters in You.
Even though others make it difficult to do so at times,
help me to always respond to them in love and
forgive them when they cause hurt,
even if it was intentional.
Peace and unity with others are essential qualities of life,
and I know they must begin with me.
Help me to love unconditionally, as You love me.
In Jesus' name. Amen

Lord Jesus, I know that the seasons come and go in majestic sequence.
The earth rotates on its axis in a predetermined rhythm.
No prayers of mine could change any of this. I know that Your
ways are not my ways; Your timing is not my timing. But Lord,
how do I, so earthbound, come to terms with the pace of eternity?

I seek God only by opening my eyes each morning and
going outside, looking up to Father Sky and down to
Mother Earth. There you will see and feel God.
We all have a Higher Power within us, in our hearts.
He or She is a loved one that lives there.
You only need close your eyes and speak to them and wait.
Your answer will come.
Only in Faith is there an answer to your question...

Earth teach me stillness
as the grasses are stilled with light.
Earth teach me suffering
as old stones suffer with memory
Earth teach me humility
as blossoms are humble with beginning
Earth teach me caring
as the mother who secures her young
Earth teach me courage
as the tree which stands alone
Earth teach me limitation
as the ant which crawls on the ground
Earth teach me freedom
as the eagle which soars in the sky
Earth teach me resignation
as the leaves which die in the fall
Earth teach me regeneration
as the seed which rises in the spring
Earth teach me to forget myself
as melted snow forgets its life
Earth teach me to remember kindness
as dry fields weep with rain

Prayer is so simple
It is like quietly
Opening a door
And slipping into
The very presence of God.
There, in the stillness,
To listen for His voice,
Perhaps in petition
Or only to listen,
It matters not.
Just to be there,
In His presence,
Is prayer.

When we speak the Truth,
we do not need to be defensive.
Truth needs no defense.
When we speak the Truth,
we do not need to attack
because Truth cannot be attacked.
It is so easy to want to manipulate
or to be deceitful or dishonest.
My head tells me I can get away
with doing these things,
after all everybody does it.

My Creator, today let me know Truth.
Let me live Truth. Let me risk the Truth.
Let me make the Truth sweet.
Help me to make my word good.
Let Your spirit and intent be added to my words.
Let my thoughts be Truth.

My Grace is sufficient for you.
Accept My forgiveness.
When I forgive, I choose to forget.
Why should you keep recalling what I have forgotten?
Stop living with feelings of guilt. I have great things in
store for you.

Receiving forgiveness will enable you to offer yourself
as a channel of my forgiving love
to flow into the lives of others.
In so doing, you will live a life of joy and victory.

Well, here's a little poem I wrote on running to
God in times of trial......Enjoy.

I Run To You

I run to You
O God
When I am afraid
Distressed
Alone.
I flee to that secret place
Deep within the Light of Your Presence
And there
I find healing
Forgiveness
And a heart that truly listens
Understands
Accepts
And shows me how to grow.
I escape to Your love
For a moment
From amid the daily war of reality
And I am strengthened in the stillness
To return
And overcome.

But rejoice to the extent that you share in the

you may also rejoice exultantly."

A Parable............. "A Picture Of Peace"

There once was a King who offered a prize to the
artist who would paint the best picture of peace.
Many artists tried. The King looked at all the
pictures, but there were only two he really liked
and he had to choose between them.

One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect
mirror, for peaceful towering mountains were all around
it. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy white clouds.
All who saw this picture thought that it was a perfect
picture of peace.

The other picture had mountains too. But these were
rugged and bare. Above was an angry sky from which
rain fell and in which lightening played. Down the
side of the mountain tumbled a foaming waterfall.
This did not look peaceful at all. But when the King
looked, he saw behind the waterfall a tiny bush
growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush a mother
bird had built her nest. There, in the midst of the
rush of angry water, sat the mother bird on her nest
... perfect peace.

Which picture do you think won the prize?

The King chose the second picture. Do you know why?
"Because," explained the King, "peace does not mean
to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble,
or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all
those things and still be calm in your heart. That
is the real meaning of peace."

I remember the story they tell
Of my ancestor
They knew her well
She held a spirit that none could contest
Yet rare was she
She did not notice
Anything different
Love for mankind was shown
She was born with weakness
Overcame it
Became a woman of strength
Conquered life's travails
Without complaining
Only once did I see her wince
Grandfather said
When she thought I was not looking
But I knew the pain she felt
And yet she dealt
With it and prevailed
Bore children and worked like the rest
A test for all
She was kind and generous in everything
Even her words would take the sting out of life
He husband mourned her till his death
Because she was a testament
Of heaven on earth
So I call upon her to help me bear
Life's travails
For this was her chosen path
My heroine.

Peek-A-Boo
~~~
I overheard my neighbor's child.
"Peek A Boo ~ I love You,"
I watched and listened for a while.
The little girl skipped down the walk,
Humming as she moved.
From time to time, I'd see her stop,
And sing her childish tune.
"Peek A Boo ~ I see You,"
Her sweet face looked so intent.
"Peek A Boo ~ I love You,"
Then down the path she went.
I saw her do this several times,
Poor, lonesome child, I thought.
She only has a nursery rhyme,
To go with her on her walk.
"Peek A Boo ~ I see You,"
She did it then once more.
"Peek A Boo ~ I love You,"
Then I scurried out my door.
I could not stand it any longer,
What did this child see?
I hurried up and caught her,
Hoping she'd explain to me.
"Peek A Boo ~ I see You,"
Her face buried in some daisies.
"Peek A Boo ~ I love You,"
Was this child crazy?
"Honey," I call out to her,
"What are you looking at?"
(I may have to tell her mother,
And I needed all the facts.)
She gave me then a vacant stare,
And said, "There's nothing wrong.
I see Lord Jesus everywhere,
That's why I sing my song."
"Mama says He's in the flowers,
And He's in the bushes and the trees.
And He's in rainbows and in showers,
And He's even in the breeze."
"I see Him everywhere I look,
And I like to tell Him so.
You see, He's not just in The Book,
He's everywhere I go."
"Peek A Boo ~ I see You,"
I peeked into her precious face.
"Peek A Boo ~ I love You,"
Then I thanked God for such grace.
And a little child shall lead them ~
My help is in the mountain where I take myself to heal.
The earthly wounds that people give to me.
I find a rock with the sun on it and a stream where the water runs gentle and the trees which one by one give me company.
So I must stay for a long time until I have grown from the rock and the stream is running through me and I can not tell myself from one tall tree
Then I know that nothing touches me nor makes me run away
My help in in the mountain that I take away with me.
Earth cure me. Earth receive my woe. Rock strengthen me
Rock receive my weakness. Rain wash my sadness away.
Rain receive my doubt. Sun make sweet my song.
Sun receive the anger from my heart.
What's Prettier Than Freckles?
An elderly woman and her little grandson, whose face was sprinkled with bright freckles, spent the day at the zoo. Lots of children were waiting in line to get their cheeks painted by a local artist who was decorating them with tiger paws. "You've got so many freckles, there's no place to paint!" a girl in the line said to the little fella.
Embarrassed, the little boy dropped his head. His grandmother knelt down next to him. "I love your freckles. When I was a little girl I always wanted freckles," she said, while tracing her finger across the child's cheek. "Freckles are beautiful." The boy looked up, "Really?" "Of course," said the grandmother. "Why just name me one thing that's prettier than freckles." The little boy thought for a moment, peered intensely into his grandma's face, and softly whispered, Wrinkles."
Love Revisited
I have looked for you in all the old familiar places -- where once we walked hand in hand, sharing our dreams, our hopes....our love.
I walk along the path we once strolled together, seeing things as they were then;
memories flooding my senses.
The green of the meadow, the clouds drifting above me, the smell of fresh cut grass...
stopping to gather my thoughts, I realize I've come upon the place where we first met.
The distant sound of water dancing in the brook sings your name and I stop to rest where once you sat. I close my eyes and it's almost like being here with you again.
Where did it all go? So fast, so fleeting. How did it become a love of the past?
Rested now, and filled with the spirit of you, I walk back along the path we walked so many times.
Am I imagining it? Or are you holding my arm again as you did so long ago; laughing and teasing, but knowing all along that what you really meant was you loved me -- really loved me.
I can feel the warmth of your presence as I pass the things that remind me of you --
the old sign by the road, a wooden fence, stone wall.
Everything so distant now, and yet so new.
I find comfort here.
I find you here.
Your warmth in the rays of the sun upon my back, your smile in every blossom by the road, your love in the beauty of this place.
Tomorrow I may walk this path again and find you waiting there for me as you did so long ago.
Again I walk out into the darkness of another night.
And sit among the stars, as the moon's shadow embraces
my spirit. And through the wind I can hear a far away cry.
A cry from another life, from another time that has become
lost in the wind. Always seeking the path that she had become
separated from. My spirit sheds a tear and sends a whisper
out among the winds. Telling her that I know and have felt
her pain. And that there is no reason for her to be afraid.
For my spirit is ageless and has seen many a lifetime
separated from her. And that someday things will start
a new. For there can't be an ending to something
that has yet to begin.
O Great Spirit,
whose voice I hear in the winds
and whose breath gives life to all the world,
Hear me!
I am small and weak.
I need Your strength and wisdom.
Let me walk in beauty
and make my eyes ever behold the sunset.
Make my hands respect the things You have made
and my ears sharp to hear Your voice
Make me wise so that I may understand
the things You have taught my people.
Let me learn the lessons
You have hidden in every leaf and rock.
I seek strength,
not to be greater than my brother,
but to fight my greatest enemy - myself.
Make me always ready to come to You
with clean hands and straight eyes.
So when life fades, as the fading sunset,
my spirit may come to You without shame.
By the fence near the gate that is where I'll be
By the fence near the gate that is where to look for me
When the wind is blowing cold through the tears you cannot see
By the fence near the gate that is where I'll be
Don't be sad just be glad for God has set me free
I'll wait for you just look for me under the great oak tree
By the fence near the gate that is where I'll be
This was written for me by my cousin because the
Sunday before she died, this is what came to
her by the fence near the gate.
It is a good poem and I'm gonna fix it on one of mom's pictures.
It is so true and yes, it does make me sad,
but it lets me know where she is.
I can find her on my journey home
to see her when it is my time.
Thanks all, Teresa
You
You are flesh, you are bones,
You have a beating heart,
You have the breath of life in you
Plus senses too, to impart,
You take for granted all your organs
Your seeing too, I know
You are a remarkable person,
You also had to grow
You didn't create all these things,
You were created by His All,
He even gave you other things,
An intangible Spirit and Soul,
Just look at your remarkable hands
And think of all they do,
What would you do without them,
They are a big part of you.
We all take for granted our bodies
But they are remarkable indeed,
Give thanks to Him for your being here
You once were just a mere seed.
Dear Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to
************************
Lord, in the quietness reach out and hold me.
Draw me gently into your peace.
And in the loving silence at your heart,
attune my ears to hear the sounds I never listen to.
The harmony that lies in you,
the discords in the world you've put me in.
The laughter and the tears in other people's lives.
Make me more sensitive to others' needs.
Sometimes, I hear the words that others speak,
but fail to grasp their meaning.
Help me to hear the worry hidden in a throwaway remark,
the fear wrapped in a joke,
the insecurity behind unbending dogmatism.
Let me identify the cry for help so casually expressed.
Help me to listen more, and think,
and think before I speak, and then to think again.
And, lord, teach me to hear sincerity in those who see
and say things in a different way.
Give me the grace not to condemn or criticize,
but first to search for common ground,
and grasp the things that draw us all together,
not concentrate on what holds us apart.
Help me to take the richness of another's thought,
and hold it, precious as my own.
Above all, may I hear the gentle echoes of your love,
reflected all around me.
Give me the joy of listening to your voice,
the quiet rustle as your arms enfold me.
The Courage To Go On
 Dear God,
When I am lonely and,
Perhaps I feel despair.
Let not my ailing heart forget,
That You hear every prayer..
Remind me that no matter what,
I do or fail to do,
There still is hope for as long
As I have faith in You..
Let not my eyes be blinded by
Some folly I commit.
But help me to regret my wrong,
And to make up for it..
Inspire me to put my fears,
Upon a hidden shelf,
And in the future never to
Be sorry for myself.
Give me the restful sleep I need,
Before another dawn,
And bless me in the morning with
The courage to go on...
Modern Parable
A man fell into a pit and couldn't get himself out...
A subjective person came along and said, "I feel for you down there."
An objective person walked by and said, "It's logical that someone would fall down there."
A Pharisee said, "Only bad people fall into pits."
A mathematician calculated how deep the pit was.
A self-pitying person said, "You haven't seen anything until you've seen my pit."
A Scientist observed, "The pit is just in your mind."
A psychologist noted, "Your mother and father are to blame for your being in that pit."
A self-esteem therapist said, "Believe in yourself and you can get out of that pit."
An optimist said, "Things could be worse."
A pessimist claimed, "Things will get worse.
Jesus, seeing the man, took him by the hand and lifted him out of the pit.
Feel like you're in a pit today?
Ask God for a lift up, He'll help you out.
Celebrate that you are ALIVE.
That although you were beaten, you are still here.
That you feel.
That the breeze carried the perfume of spring.
That the sunset was mauve and golden umber.
That the rose broke through at last and bloomed.
That you cried.
That you were remembered.
That you remember.
That the wind carried a message of hope.
That you love.
That you once loved.
That all music and art were intended just for you.
That you were right.
That you forgave.
That it rained and the rain forgave all of us.
That you are human, after all.
The Use Of Flowers
God might have bade the earth bring forth enough for great and small,
The oak tree and the cedar tree without a flower at all.
We might have had enough, enough for every want of ours-
For luxury, medicine and toil, and yet have had no flowers.
Then why were they made, all dyed with rainbow light.
All fashioned with supreme grace, up springing day and night?
Singing in the valleys green and low, and on the mountains high,
And in the silent wilderness where no man passes by!
Our outward life requires them not - then wherefore had they birth?
To minister delight to man - to beautify the earth.
To comfort man, to whisper hope, whenever his faith is dim-
For who so careth for the flowers, will care much more for Him.
Watch
Watch your thoughts, for they become your words.
Watch your words, for they become your actions.
Watch your actions, for they become your habits.
Watch your habits, for they will become your character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny
The Most Glorious Art Of All
In all His wisdom, did He know how incredibly beautiful He would paint the skies?
Dear Lord, let me never be too busy that I forget to look upon Your canvas in the sky.
Whether it be in the sunrise hours, or those few precious moments as the day wanes.
So many have tried to capture Your beauty for centuries with paints and other means of colors,
but no person has been able to capture the true beauty You have put here for all of us to look
at.
Allow me the wisdom to gaze upon the pinks, purples, golds, yellows, and
all the wondrous colors You have put in this world for our sunrises and sunsets.
Let me remember to teach the children to look up..
To wonder in Your paintings...To appreciate the truest beauty of all.
And when Your skies become dark and stormy, let me find the beauty in that also.
For I know You have a reason and a purpose for the darkness.
When I look upon the beautiful trees and flowers, I will see the colors of the sky again.
Teach me to help others keep this Earth as beautiful as You planned it.
And I will be reminded time after time...that once Your stormy skies have done their work,
The heavens again will be painted in colors I cannot possibly imagine.
Allow others to see in their hearts, the beauty I see in Your skies. And when Your skies
grow dark with nightfall, thank You Lord for putting the stars there for me to wish upon.
Let me always remember to look up.
When was the last time you looked up?
My Storm
I had it all, without a care,
the "Self-sufficient" lie.
My path was smooth, my sea was still,
not a cloud was in my sky.
I thought I knew His love for me,
I thought I'd seen His grace,
I thought I did not need to grow,
I thought I'd found my place.
But then the way grew rough and dark,
the storm clouds quickly rolled;
The waves began to rock my ship,
I found I had no hold.
This ship that I had built myself,
was made of foolish pride.
It fell apart and left me bare,
with nowhere else to hide.
I had no strength or faith to face,
the trials that lay ahead,
And so I simply spoke His name,
and bowed my weary head.
His loving arms enveloped me,
and then He helped me stand.
He said, "You still must face this storm,
but I will hold your hand."
So through the dark and lonely night,
He guided me through pain.
I could not see the light of day,
or when I'd smile again.
It was not easy in the storm,
I sometimes wondered why.
At times I thought, "I can't go on."
I'd hurt and doubt and cry.
But Jesus never left my side,
He guided me each day.
Through pain and strife, through fire and flood,
He helped me all the way.
He worked it all out for my good,
although the way was rough.
He only sent what I could bear,
and then He said, "Enough."
He raised His hand and said, "Be still!"
He made the storm clouds cease.
He opened up the gates of joy
and flooded me with peace.
Fireworks
I long to see the fireworks
When You
My Lord
Come to carry me Home.
I long to watch the red
the yellow
The green
The purple
Dance and sparkle
Amid a blaze of orange
Then blue
As You shine Your glory throughout this terrestrial sky.
There Your love
Shall finally be seen
In its perfect
Unveiled beauty
As we celebrate our final independence
From the rule of Satan's terror.
And we shall worship You
Our God
Our King
Our Highest Friend.
And then we shall rise
To roam and play amid the splendor
Of Your Joy.
I know for sure the sun comes up...
At the beginning of each new day...
And if we search and really try...
We will find goodness along the way...
I know for sure that flowers bloom...
As they are nurtured, cared for and fed...
And when someone loves us--our spirits bloom...
Like the flowers in a bed...
I know for sure at times like these...
When we feel lonely, fearful and blue...
We must learn to lean on a higher strength...
So our faith will see us through...
I know for sure if we think about things...
Really stop and take a look...
Our life will lie before us...
Like colored pictures in a book...
I know for sure that someone...
Looks down on us from above...
And He is the one who will bless us...
With the peace of a snow white dove...
Stand Still
Stand still when storms are raging,
Stand still when all seems lost,
For God in all His glory knows
When we're tempest tossed.
Though waves may surround crashing,
And cause you to tremble in fear,
Take joy my friend in knowing
That God is very near.
He knows our every trouble,
And never leaves our side,
For God's love is eternal,
Forever it abides.
So take heart my friend rejoicing,
Whatever state you're in,
God our Father cares for you
He's as close as any friend.
 Matt 5:45 (nlt),
"For He gives His sunlight to both the evil and the good,
and He sends rain on the just and the unjust, too."
Our choice is to decide which we will be -- just or unjust.
The Rose
A certain man planted a rose and watered it faithfully,
and before it blossomed, he examined it.
He saw the bud that would soon blossom
and also the thorns. And he thought,
"How can any beautiful flower come from a plant
burdened with so many sharp thorns?"
Saddened by this thought, he neglected to water the rose,
and before it was ready to bloom, it died.
So it is with many people.
Within every soul there is a rose.
The Godlike qualities planted in us at birth grow
amid the thorns of our faults.
Many of us look at ourselves and see only the thorns,
the defects. We despair, thinking that nothing good can
possibly come from us. We neglect to water the good within us,
and eventually it dies.
We never realize our potential.
Some people do not see the rose within themselves;
someone else must show it to them.
One of the greatest gifts a person can possess
is to be able to reach past the thorns and find the rose within others.
This is the characteristic of love, to look at a person,
and knowing his faults, recognize the nobility in his soul,
and help him realize that he can overcome his faults.
If we show him the rose, he will conquer the thorns.
Then will he blossom, blooming forth thirty, sixty,
a hundred-fold as it is given to him.
Our duty in this world is to help others by showing them
their roses and not their thorns.
Only then can we achieve the love we should feel for each other;
only then can we bloom in our own garden.
Focused thinking
A single drop of water is so light and fragile that it can be
blown around by the slightest breeze.
When that small drop falls upon even the most delicate object,
it yields to that object and rolls off of it.
Yet if that small drop of water is combined with
enough other small drops into a powerful flood,
it is virtually unstoppable.
Even the strongest of structures can fall victim to raging floodwaters.
So too, are your thoughts.
Dispersed, random thoughts have little effect.
They can be twisted and contorted by the slightest disruption.
Yet when the majority of your thoughts are focused over a period of time upon a single objective, their force becomes unstoppable.
There is power in numbers. Nowhere is this more true than with your own thoughts. Put enough of them together in succession, directed toward the same result, and that result will surely come about.
For compelling thoughts lead to effective actions,
and effective actions will bring about desired results.
You possess a truly amazing power -- the power of thought.
Focus that thought and it can be a
mighty force for positive change.
Psalms 127:1-2 (niv)
Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless
the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain.
In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat--
for He grants sleep to those he loves.
Prayer: Lord, no wisdom, no strength, or no plan can prevail against you. Unless you are the author of a plan, how can it ultimately succeed? Help me to discern and understand your leadership, direction, and plans for me because I want you to be the "builder" of my "house", my life. I know I can trust your leadership absolutely, for your love is unfailing and your plans for me are always for my good.
In Jesus' name. Amen.
Imagine Life
Such a funny thing, life is.
We come into this world so free of sin, so filled with innocence,
with the whole world as our playground and with possibilities
unlimited. With future potentials, too vast to fathom.
But, as we begin to grow we get early lessons in love, curiosity,
disappointment, and even fear.
Then we grow some more.
We learn the differences between fact and fantasy.
But... Ahhhh... Imagination!!
Imagination is a powerful thing, and if we're lucky,
it can take us to wonderful places.
It can turn bad into good, and good into great.
With imagination, we can be whatever we want to be.
And still, we keep growing.
But with growth comes change
Then, before we know it, That imagination that was
once a window view of a life filled with peace and happiness
begins to show a glimpse of worry, doubt, and sometimes doom
And suddenly, we've lost our courage
As children, uncharted territory was seen as a thrilling and
new adventure almost like a game
Why is this so?
When we're young
we fall,
we hurt,
we cry,
then a kiss and a Band-Aid and we are on our way
Simple...Right?
Why then does that become so difficult for us as adults?
Could it be the stakes are higher?
Or have we just lost the power to believe,
the power to imagine,
And what about faith?
Have we forgotten the freedom that comes with faith?
And what ever did happen to our courage?
But...
What if we could find that child with in us?
What if we could learn from that child?
Maybe then we could realize...
that one without courage, is left in a frightening place.
One without faith, is haunted by a dark tomorrow.
One who cannot believe, has no hope as well.
And one who cannot imagine, just has nothing at all.
And what if from these lessons...
we grow again
and again
and again!
Then, we COULD give ourselves another chance
A chance to once again use that gift of imagination
that lets us envision that beautiful place...
That place where ALL things are possible
Then we can imagine that place is called...LIFE!!!
Imagine that!!!
   Still Water
Even in the stillness, there is beauty and life
Even in the solitude, there is happiness and love
What you see, what you feel....matters
Who you are, what you will become....is up to you
Until there is chaos, you don't appreciate quiet
Until there are crowds, you don't appreciate being alone
Now is the time to reflect and realize what you have
Others envy you....no matter what your lot in life
If it is what they lack and wish for
You are unique
Take time now....discover yourself, it's never too late
You always have something to contribute
If you are lonely, be a friend....be a smile
For the hectic, find a slice of solitude....no matter how small
Life is not always as it appears
You have the power to alter yours and make a difference
Your are rare and unmatched....there is only one you
What Constitutes An American?
Not color nor race nor religion.
Not the pedigree of his family nor the place of his birth.
Not the coincidence of his citizenship.
An American is one who loves justice and believes in the dignity of man.
An American is one who will fight for his freedom and that of his neighbor.
An American is one who will sacrifice property, ease and security
in order that he and his children may retain the rights of all free men.
When Life
I wanted to find some words on a card.
That would help to get thru it when life gets so hard.
It seems you can't bear it - perhaps can't go on -
When deep in the heart there's no trace of a song.
Some words that would comfort -
when late in the night the trials return and -
you're too tired to fight.
Or the tears flow so often it seems you'll run dry.
And life gets so tough that you just want to die -
Or at least go and hide -
where you're safe from all pain.
Someplace you can rest 'til you find joy again.
What are the words you so need to hear -
That will help and will heal and remove all the fear -
That builds up inside 'til you think you'll explode -
What are the words that will lighten the load?
If only I knew the right words to say.
To encourage and Bless you or comfort some way.
I know not the words but this I can do.
I shall offer up Prayers to the Creator for you.
And I will always be here for you.
The Right Words
Lord, give me the right words to say
To broken hearts that come my way
To those who have been hurt before
That, I not hurt them any more
To those whose hearts have hardened up
To those who won't hold out their cup
That, Lord, You long to overflow
With love and mercy.  Lord, let me know
That I might have the words to say
That I might plant a seed today
That glory would be given to You
Through all I say and all I do
Lord, give me the right words to say
More hearts are breaking every day
They're out there crying in the night
I long to help them see the light
But, fragile are those souls and weak
So this is why Your words I seek
And pray Thee give me words to say
That I, not one soul, turn away.
"For this people's heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn,
and I would heal them.
But blessed are your eyes because they see,
and your ears because they hear.
For I tell you the truth,
many prophets and righteous men longed to see
what you see but did not see it, and to hear
what you hear but did not hear it."
Matthew 13:15-17 (niv)
Do not try to penetrate the cloud He brings over you;
Rather look to the bow that is on it.
The Rim
I come here to explore.....
to take my solace from the world
to put back what has been used up from the weariness of the day.
I know each step ... each view it is all so familiar ...
and yet, each time I see it ... it is so new.
Slowly ... I feel my breathing quiet ... I sense my pace slowing ... and I begin to wonder ... in the racing of my mind ... where I fit in all of this ... when I gaze upon The Rim.
My mind slows ... the solace steps in ... and frantic moments cease. Slowly ...
ever so slowly ... the quiet pervades all ... and there is peace. I walk along
the paths ... I gaze at the shades of blue of the sky ... and wonder ... how do
I survive the week without this place and time.
It is known to me ... from times past ... that we are as one with that which we
partake ... the sky ... the trees ... the wildlife around us ... the water
and I am at peace.
Knowing that I am part of this, drives away the insanity of the world. I come
here often ... to fill my soul ... and to wonder ... to wait ... anticipate
to drink of the beauty ... and to get caught up in the rapture of The Rim.
The Four Candles
The Four Candles burned slowly.
Their Ambiance was so soft you could hear them speak...
The first candle said, "I Am Peace, but these days, nobody wants to keep me lit."
Then Peace's flame slowly diminishes and goes out completely.
The second candle says, "I Am Faith, but these days, I am no longer indispensable."
Then Faith's flame slowly diminishes and goes out completely.
Sadly the third candle spoke,
"I Am Love and I haven't the strength to stay lit any longer."
"People put me aside and don't understand my importance.
They even forget to love those who are nearest to them."
And waiting no longer, Love goes out completely.
Suddenly...
A child enters the room and sees the three candles no longer burning.
The child begins to cry, "Why are you not burning?
You are supposed to stay lit until the end."
Then the Fourth Candle spoke gently to the little boy,
"Don't be afraid, for I Am Hope, and while I still burn,
we can re-light the other candles."
With Shining eyes the child took the Candle of Hope
and lit the other three candles.
Never let the Flame of Hope go out of your life.
With Hope, no matter how bad things look and are...
Peace, Faith and Love can Shine Brightly in our lives.
Walking through a park, I passed a massive oak tree. A vine
had grown up along its trunk. The vine started small--nothing to
bother about. But over the years the vine had gotten taller and
taller. By the time I passed, the entire lower half of the tree was
covered by the vine's creepers. The mass of tiny feelers was so
thick that the tree looked as though it had innumerable birds'
nests in it.
Now the tree was in danger. This huge, solid oak was quite
literally being taken over; the life was being squeezed from it. But
the gardeners in that park had seen the danger.
They had taken a saw and severed the trunk of the vine--one
neat cut across the middle. The tangled mass of the vine's
branches still clung to the oak, but the vine was now dead. That
would gradually become plain as weeks passed and the creepers
began to die and fall away from the tree. How easy it is for sin,
which begins so small and seemingly insignificant, to grow until it
has a strangling grip on our lives. And yet, Christ's death has cut
the power of sin. Yes, the "creepers" of sin still cling and have
some effect. But sin's power is severed by Christ, and gradually,
sin's grip dries up and falls away.
Teach me how to trust
My heart,
my mind,
my intuition,
my inner knowing,
the senses of my body,
the blessings of my spirit.
Teach me to trust these things
so that I may enter my Sacred Space
and love beyond my fear,
and thus Walk in Beauty
with the passing of each glorious Sun ~*
~According to the Native People, my friends, the Sacred Space
is the space between exhalation and inhalation.
To Walk in Beauty is to have Heaven (spirituality)
and Earth (physicality) in Harmony~
Where Is Your Hope
My hope is in what the eye has never seen.
Therefore, let me not trust in visible rewards.
My hope is in what the heart of man cannot feel.
Therefore, let me not trust in the feelings of my heart.
My hope is what the hand of man has never touched.
Do not let me trust what I can grasp between my fingers.
Death will loosen my grip and my vain hope will be gone.
Let my trust be in Your mercy, not in myself. Let my hope be in Your
love, not in health, or strength, or ability or human resources.
