FAMILY
A Mother's Love Is Different
A Mother's love is different,
Than other kinds of love.
For a Mother's love came from,
Our Father up above.
He made each mother beautiful,
For beauty's from the heart.
He made her kind and gentle,
From the very start.
God gave Mother's special gifts,
He made them all unique.
But one thing all mother's love,
Are kisses on their cheek.
God gave Mother's extra patience,
Lots of kindness too.
She cares about her family,
Each day through and through.
God gives her love and she loves Him,
She shares God with her kids.
They grow up knowing God is love,
By what she said and did.
She knows that she could never raise,
Her kids without the Lord.
She trusts in Him and then she sees,
The blessings He has poured.
A Mother's love is special,
In every single way.
Her love is unconditional,
Her love is here to stay.
So when you see your Mother,
Make sure you say these words.
"I love you Mom, you are the best,"
Don't let them go unheard.

A Mother's Day
In the morning when I rise,
I ask the Lord for He is wise.
To give me wisdom, patience too,
To send the children off to school.
As I go about my day,
I read my Bible and I pray.
That I may get my work all done,
So we can have some family fun.
As I put the kids to bed,
I make sure that their prayers are said.
We thank the Lord for being here,
For loving us throughout the year.
As I'm drifting off to sleep,
I ask the Lord my days to keep.
To guide my each and everyday,
So we may follow God's own way.
 Made By You
You gave me a Grandma
So gentle and true.
I know dear God
That she came from You.
You gave her a heart
So filled with love.
It could only have come
From the Father above.
You gave her patience,
And kindness too.
She served others,
But first came You.
She taught me that
You'll love me forever.
Protecting me, guiding me,
But leaving me, never.
She had so much pain
When You took her dear son,
But Your strength pulled her through,
For You gave her Your Son.
She takes hold of Your words,
Promises true.
She turns no where else,
Except to You.
Thanks for my Grandma,
And her faithful way.
I hope someday,
Others can say.
That I am faithful,
Loving and true.
Just like my Grandma,
Who was made by You.
 My Grandma
My Grandma was my special friend,
Someone who knew me well.
She'd talk to me about God's love,
Oh how she loved to tell.
She gave the Lord all she could give,
Her heart belonged to Him.
All those who knew my Grandma well,
Knew of her love for Him.
She did not waiver in her faith,
The Lord helped her stay strong.
Through sometimes heartaches came her way,
God's path was never wrong.
I loved my Grandma very much,
She was my special friend.
I thank the Lord for her strong faith,
Until the very end.
I know that where she is today,
Is where she longed to be.
In heaven singing songs of praise,
Forever close to Thee.
 Nana
When I think of my dear Nana,
Happy thoughts come to my mind.
She cares about her family,
She is so very kind.
She loves the Lord with all her heart,
She prays to Him each day.
She asks the Lord to bless us all,
She has her special way.
We've seen God answer Nana's prayers,
Her faith in God is firm.
He sees her kind and loving heart,
From her He'll never turn.
Nana taught us how to live,
To give Christ our best.
She trusts in Jesus each day though,
In Him she finds her rest.
Thanks Nana for being faithful,
For loving Christ always.
You've shown us He's all we need,
To guide our path each day.
I know that God is happy with you,
He smiles from above.
You've lived your life honoring Him,
By sharing His great love.
Nana you are special to me,
I love your caring way.
God sure blessed our whole family,
I thank Him everyday.

FRIENDS
I Said A Prayer
I said a prayer for you my friend,
That your struggles would soon end.
That you would feel God's peace with you,
As you trust Him each day through.
I prayed that you would feel His love,
Rain down on you from up above.
I asked Him to take care of you,
Fill you with joy and laughter too.
I prayed that He would let you know,
That He will never let you go.
That He'd pour blessings down on you,
And make your grey skies turn to blue.
I prayed that God would give you rest,
And that He'd answer your request.
I asked the Lord to touch your soul,
Fill you with hope and make you whole.
My friend I prayed that you would feel,
His gentle touch reach down and heal.
I said a prayer for you my friend,
My best wishes to you I send.

Special Friend
When you feel sad my special friend.
I wish you joy that will never end.
When everything is going wrong.
I'll ask the Lord to make you strong.
When you feel like you just can't cope.
I pray you feel God's awesome hope.
When giving up is easy to do,
I pray your faith will get you through.
When you're lonely, I wish you love,
The kind that comes from God above.
When you are down and feeling stressed,
In His loving arms you will find rest.
When your pain leaves and you feel strong,
I'll sing the Lord a thank-you song.
When you feel joy beyond compare,
I'll thank the Lord for answered prayer.
When clear blue skies fill up your day,
I'll give Him praise for guiding your way.
In joy or sorrow He's there for you,
No matter what He'll get you through.
For you each day I'll say a prayer,
It's the best way I can show I care.
You my friend are special to me,
And each day I'll be on my knee.
I've Thought About You.
Hey my friend it's been awhile,
Since I took the time to see you smile.
I see you each day but never say hi,
It seems like I'm always just running by.
So how are you doing today my friend?
My prayers for you did not end.
I asked the Lord each day in prayer,
To show you that He'll always care.
I asked him to fill your days with hope,
And to give you His strength on days you can't cope.
I prayed He'd shine His love on you,
And wrap His arms around you too.
Sometimes I'm busy but I want to share,
That you are special and I'll always care.
So next time you're feeling down and depressed,
Remember I'm praying that you will find rest.
I've thought about you a lot my friend,
And to God above many prayers I send.
Hey my friend it's been awhile,
And I'm looking forward to seeing your smile.

HOLIDAY
OUR MONTH IN B.C.
Our summer holiday was a blast.
We have lots of memories that will last.
We did many things while away in B.C.
And all of our cousins we got to see.
The first Sunday there church was a real treat.
It was held at Lorne's church, outside in the heat.
After church was a picnic with food and fun,
We ate cotton candy and kept on the run.
Later that day we helped celebrate,
40 years of marriage, isn't that great!
Grandma and Grandpa deserve a big cheer,
For staying together year after year.
We went to Vancouver Island one day,
The sky was dark and really quite gray.
But we went to see Nana and had lots of fun.
We played shuffleboard and all of us won.
One Saturday we went to the Zoo,
We had lots of fun and learned lots too.
We went on a train and saw the whole place,
We saw lots of animals in that big space.
We went to the beach with our cousins one night.
We collected seaweed, oh what a sight.
We jumped in the seaweed and made quite a mess,
But we had a blast, as I'm sure you did guess.
The day of our picnic Jordan got stuck,
Up a big tree, oh my what luck!
Grandpa came and rescued him though,
Then off for ice cream we all did go.
The next day Uncle Lorne took Jordan away,
Jordan had fun with JD all that day.
He learned how to dive and played laser tag,
We're so proud of his swimming and love to brag.
When he went to the pool he was afraid,
But he learned so much and that fear he did trade.
When he left the pool he swam like a pro,
Fast swimming canon balls and diving, just so.
The rest of us went to the beach again,
It was quite cloudy but it didn't rain.
The girls found shells and chased a crab,
And ran through the water till one felt a jab.
Swimming was scheduled for the next day's fun.
Jordan wanted to show us all the work he had done.
At the pool there was a water slide,
It was a fast and really fun ride.
Dinotown was the next stop we made.
Boats and cars and mini golf we played.
The girls had a blast on the big dinosaur,
While Jordan went off on his own to explore.
The children made smores one night as a treat.
They are a treat that we all love to eat.
Then that night Jordan slept in the tent.
Just in the backyard but he was content.
Science world was another big day.
We went to Vancouver, a long ways away.
It was a cool place though; we learned and had fun,
And once again we kept Mom on the run.
The water slides were a really big hit.
When the slides closed the kids didn't want to quit.
Over and over they went down those slides.
Head first, feet first, many ways they tried.
Go - karts and mini golf, bumper cars too,
Was our last day of fun things to do.
JD came with us to Castle Fun Park,
And we stayed there till it was almost dark.
We did many things on our trip in July,
The days were warm with a pretty blue sky.
But what we liked the best about being out there,
Was seeing our family, a treat that is rare.
Uncles and Aunts were so good to see.
It was fun to see cousins, we all do agree.
And being with Grandma and Grandpa was grand,
Seeing them, hugging them and holding their hand.
Saying good-bye was so hard to do,
But the last day came and we had to.
There were tears in our eyes when we walked on that jet,
It sure is one month we will never forget.

TO OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS
COME ON OVER
Come on over to our home,
Here you'll never feel alone.
We'll listen to each word you say,
Enjoying each moment of your stay.
We'll find a comfy bed for you,
And share our drinks and food too.
We'll give you all the space you need,
For you're the guest and we've agreed;
That what you need is what we'll get,
Just tell us what, we won't forget.
We'll make you feel at home while here,
For you to us are very dear.
So come on over to our home,
I promise as I write this poem.
That you are welcome, so please come,
I know that we will all have fun.
And when it's time to say good-bye,
I know we'll all break down and cry.
But while you're here we'll have a blast,
And we'll have memories that will last.
For you our doors are open wide,
We hope that you will come inside.
Take off your coat and stay awhile,
And on our faces you'll see a smile.
