.::2005-2006::.
Sadly, with everything going on with James health-wise I've had to stop homeschooling the boys. They attend the local elementary school. Hannah on the other hand is still too young yet for Kindergarten so I'm homeschooling her this year! We're mainly using Pathway readers and Rod & Staff curriculum.
.::2004-2005::. Back to homeschool for Jacob!!! Praise the Lord!!! Oh, how I've missed teaching him at home and having him around all the time! I'm really looking forward to schooling both boys in the Fall. Hannah (3) will be using a lot of the Kindergarten curriculum that Jamie's been using.
.::2003-2004::. Jacob will be attending our church's Christian School this year. With a new baby and various other issues, James and I have decided that would be best for now. Jamie will have missed the Kindergarten "age cutoff" by 19 days (his birthday is January 19th) so I will, in fact be doing "homeschool lite" for him for Kindergarten. That way, he'll have a bit of a head start on Kindergarten next year. I already have all the Kindergarten curriculum for him.
.::2002-2003::. Our first year of homeschooling! I (Rebekah) have been wanting
to homeschool Jacob for a few years now. We had also considered putting
him into our church's private, Christian school but would not have
been able to afford the monthly tuition. We were very unhappy with how
he was being taught under the public school system and since Rebekah had
already been supplementing his schooling with homeschool all along and
after much prayer we knew it was God's will for us to
teach Jacob at home.
As this page is being created, we are in our third week
of school. We have decided to use the Calvert
curriculum for Jacob. He will also be taking private music
and art lessons. This is a really exciting time for us! We will include
a number of homeschooling links which we hope will be of some help
to you as they have been to us.
*Don't forget to check out our Arts & Crafts page for some nifty crafting ideas!
.::Field Trips::. October 21, 2002~ today we went to the pumpkin patch! It was our first
chance to meet other homeschooling familes. The children were each able to
pick out a pumpkin, we saw sheep, goats, horses and even went through a corn
maze! It was a lot of fun.
I would like to dedicate this spot on my homeschooling page to a wonderful and inspiring man who, very sadly, passed away on February 27, 2003. He was always such an inspiration to me as a child with his kind teaching and gentle ways. He has even taught the next generation, my own children. He will truly be missed. :: Mr. Rogers Neighborhood Website ::
