Let Me Tell You A Little About Myself
I was born in Windsor, Vermont having been given the name of Irene Jane Bouley on December 4, 1931. I was the product of a broken home. I had been, up to the age of eight years of age, raised by my father's faith. Even so, I had never heard of the real plan of salvation.
I moved from North Adams, Mass. away from my father because of an illness. I was introduced to my mother at the above age. I now was to be raised in a town called Bridgeton located in the State of Maine. It was there that I attended the local schools until the age of 12 1/2 years...at which time I went to work. At the age of sixteen years old I met and married my present husband, James G. Burnell. We were blessed with our first child three years later of which we names Ruth I. Burnell. She herself has two beautiful children and the grandmother of six children.
After we were married we moved to a small town in Lincoln Center, Maine. At the age of twelve years I had decided to leave my father's faith as the Lord was dealing with me from the age of seven/eight. I then was not affiliated with any church nor did I attend anywhere. However, God had his hand on my life but it was not clear to me at that time. There was always a constant stirring within me that never found fulfillment.
My husband joined the Armed Forces in 1954 and moved to Newport News, Virginia. After being separated for awhile we began to realize that God was missing in our lives and in our marriage. Upon reconciling with my husband, I took our daughter, now five years old, and joined him in the Newport News, Va. area. We together began to seek God. We contacted a small denominational church in the town then called Morrison, in Virginia. We were both saved into the Christian faith on the same day and service. This great event took place on September 16, 1956. This now placed us (me) into a different denomination than what I was raised up in. My life began to take on a drastic change! I began preaching the Word of God shortly following my conversion and teaching His Word immediately.
By now my husband received his military orders which took us to the Upper Peninsula in Michigan State to a small town called Laurium. This move was made in the spring of 1957. Our first son, James I. Burnell, was born that same year. He too is married and has three wonderful children.
With much prayer and two other families a church was birthed and therefore the ministry continued. Once again upon military orders, my husband was then transferred to Okinawa. This was in June of 1958. The following November I joined my husband and together we started another church work. What a tremendous challenge! This time with the local native people and it became a missionary work. We started in our home with the locals and also the American personnel.
A second son blessed our lives while we were stationed on the Islands. We named him David R. Burnell. He has since also blessed us with five precious children and he is the grandfather of one. At this time the Lord was calling my husband into the work of the ministry. He accepted the call and have been laboring for the Lord ever since. After working faithfully and seeing much fruit from those labors my husband was now being transferred back to the United States. We were sent to Fort Hood, Texas in December of 1960.
We settled in a very small town (at the time) called Harker Heights just a few miles from the base. Upon arriving we realized that there was no local church of our faith in the area. The closest one was in Waco, Texas some 60 miles away. We traveled it weekly with our three children until the Lord directed us to proceed with home prayer meetings in our home. Soon another church was birthed. We expaned out from our home into an Army tent and then moved into our newly constructed building. We pastored there for nearly twenty years. During this period of time we had taken in two teenage girls and raised them until their own graduations and marriages. One has two daughters and the other one son.
After preaching and teaching God's Word some seventeen years the Spirit of the Lord began dealing with me about the Holy Spirit Baptism. After about nine months of personal research and study I decided that this was for me. After much prayer and fasting I received this glorious experience with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gave utterance. This was and is yet today one of the greatest days of my life. This took place in my home on March 24, 1974. My husband, all the church members and our three children received this latter rain experience. Because of this we could no longer stay in the denomination of which we were saved. We were seeking once again. Always pioneering and breaking new ground to go up higher. Under the leadership of my husbands ministry the Church Incorporated.
The prophetic call and anointing on my life was quickly established and seen by all who came in contact with the ministry. A little more background material... since the early age of seven years I had had many visitations of angels from the Lord. The Lord had appeared to me during my childhood illness and there has been many other visits from my Lord and His angels in my adult years. He continued to reveal knowledge and revelation to me of which I am humbly grateful.
Two scriptures have been given to me as a charge for my life. They are found in Isaiah 61: 1~2 and also Isaiah 50:4. They read as follows: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn..." and," The Lord hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary; he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned."
Over the years these words have certainly become a reality in my life as I had and have set forth to yielding myself to be that instrument in the hands of my Lord. Because of this the writings and other things the Lord has set my pen to have come forth. If purchased, I ask under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and the gift of prophecy that you not only "read" your selections but rather meditate upon them as they are from God's heart to yours.
