God
does take strange ways to start a man for heaven. The way home is sometimes
shown him by an unexpected finger-post; and from a motive so unworthy that he
dare not tell it in after-life, there comes to many a man his first impulse
toward God. |
God is the Alpha & Omega, the Beginning & the End. There were none before Him & can be none after Him. Everything came into being as the result of personal creation by God. The Holy Bible is God's communication to mankind. |
| And
long after he has begun to run the Christian race, God may try to hasten his
lagging steps by the spur of a motive as far beneath an heir of heaven as his
spiritual life is beneath what it ought to be. |
The Holy Trinity consists of God the Father, God the Son & God the Holy Spirit. We are saved for eternity by Grace through Faith by personally accepting Jesus Christ as Saviour & Lord into our lives. There is no other way of salvation except through Jesus. |

New Testament Grace
Grace = Unmerited, Unearned, Pardon & Forgiveness There is no condemnation for those who are united with Christ Jesus, because in Christ Jesus the life-giving law of the Spirit has set you free from the law of sin and death Romans 8: 1-3 Advocate
= Defence Council Propitiation = Appeasement The great realisation in a Christian life is to know the true meaning of grace. We have genuinely accepted Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord, perhaps been blessed experientially by Him. We know we are different. We have a new Spirit in us. We have a tremendous gift. We are Born Again! Still, somehow, we constantly keep giving in to our old sin nature, and do things we know to be wrong. When we do, this often causes us to experience an almighty guilt trip. With our consciences bothering us, it is difficult to accept the fact: If
we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness. It is imperative to take this on board. Despite feelings and sometimes a very real sense of guilt, our sins are completely washed away by the Blood of the Lamb for those who believe on Him. Grace rests firmly on the reality that Jesus Christ died for all our sins. Grace and law are mutually exclusive! Old Testament Law, prior Christ New Testament Grace, post Christ |
By accepting Jesus as our Saviour & Lord, we are seen by God as Holy and Righteous because Jesus, God's only begotten Son, is Holy & Righteous. He paid the price for all our sins. No sin is therefore too big for God to forgive. Jesus alone is our advocate & mediator with God. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me John 14 : 6 KJV
The Bible States: For by grace are ye saved through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Ephesians: 2:8 KJV Christ bought us freedom from the curse of the law by becoming for our sake an accursed thing: Galatians: 3:13 KJV For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace: Romans: 6:14 KJV Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace: Galatians 5:4 KJV I will not nullify the grace of God; if righteousness comes by the law, then Christ died for nothing: Galatians 2:21 NEB |

LAW
THROUGH MOSES The
Ten Commandments and other laws which
G |
GRACE THROUGH JESUS I
will not nullify the grace of God; if righteousness comes by law, then Christ
died for nothing. ... Galatians 2: 21 NEB |
The (10 Commandments & Other Laws) were given to Moses by God. They show us what sin is and without them there would not be a way to know for sure. Prior to the Big Ten, certain customs may have been acknowledged as law, a man's conscience may have acted as his guide to what was right. Consensus of opinion would have played it's part, or a tribal chiefs imposition of his own law. |
Out of his full store we have all received grace upon grace; for while the Law was given through Moses, Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. ... John 1: 17 NEB |
|
But there was not a larger moral law to relate to. When the commandments were supernaturally given by God, mankind knew how far he could go without sinning. But he mistakenly thought that by just keeping to the "rule book," that was the pre-requisite to eternal life. "But
that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God it is evident: for, The
just shall live by faith." ... Galatians 3: 11 K.J.V 'Now all the words of the law are, addressed, as we know, to those who are within the pale of the law, so that no one may have anything to say in self-defence, but the whole world may be exposed to the judgement of God. For no human being can be justified in the sight of God for having kept the law: law brings only the consciousness of sin.' ... Romans 3: 19-20 NEB Except through law I should never have become acquainted with sin. For example, I should never have known what it was to covet, if the law had not said, 'Thou shalt not covet.' Through that commandment sin found its opportunity and produced in me all kinds of wrong desires. In the absence of law, sin is a dead thing. ... Romans 7: 7-9 NEB The law remained in operation up to the time of Jesus Christ. It stirred up wrongful passions that showed our inability to be perfect in our own strength. It led us to know our need of the Saviour. The law condemns us, Jesus has saved us: |
On
the other hand those who rely on obedience to the law are under a curse; for
Scripture says, 'A curse is on all who do not persevere in doing everything that
is written in the Book of the Law.' It is evident that no one is ever justified
before God in terms of law; ... Galatians 3: 10-12 NEB Christ
bought us freedom from the curse of the law by becoming for our sake an accursed
thing; Galatians 3: 13 NEB The Bible says: Before this faith came, we were close prisoners in the custody of law, pending the revelation of faith. Thus the law was a kind of tutor in charge of us until Christ should come, when we should be justified through faith; and now that faith has come, the tutor's charge is at an end. Galatians 3: 23-25 NEB "When Gentiles who do not possess the law carry out its precepts by the light of nature, then, although they have no law, they are their own law, for they display the effect of the law inscribed on their hearts. Their conscience is called as witness, and their own thoughts argue the case on either side, against them or even for them, on the day when God judges the secrets of human hearts through Christ Jesus. So my gospel declares." ... Romans 2: 14-16 NEB |
|
For
they ignore God's way of righteousness, and try to set up their own, and
therefore they have not submitted themselves to God's righteousness. For Christ
ends the law and brings righteousness for everyone who has faith. ...
Romans
10: 3-4 NEB |
From
first to last this has been the work of God. He has reconciled us men to himself
through Christ, and he has enlisted us in this service of reconciliation. What I
mean is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, no longer
holding men's misdeeds against them, and that he has entrusted us with the
message of reconciliation. ... 2 Corinthians 5: 18-19 NEB |
| Jesus Christ's Sermon on the Mount, showed how the laws intention had been mis understood. i.e. The Old Testament Commandment: Thou shalt not commit adultery. Jesus said: Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. St. Matthew 5 : 27-28 "Thompson Many more examples in this great sermon. |

|
I
write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his
name's sake. ... 1John 2: 12 KJV |
|
|
What If? If I accept Jesus in to my heart, ask His forgiveness for my sins, and become saved. I am under Grace then, not Law, right. Right! So then I can deliberately do just as much evil as my heart desires, with no comebacks, and still be saved Right? Wrong. What
are we to say, then? Shall we persist in sin, so that there may be all the more
grace? No, no! We died to sin: how can we live in it any longer? ... Romans 6 : 1 NEB (New English Bible) Total Rejection of Christ
Once Saved Always Saved, but Are We? Yes, but! God is a just God and sin had to be paid for. If God's Son who died in agony for our sins, is totally rejected as Saviour & Lord, even after giving ones life to Him, (and there are some formerly saved persons that have done this) then there is no longer a sacrifice for that persons sins. By no longer acknowledging the perfect, sinless Son of God as his Saviour, the rejecter will again be in sin and will be judged by the law. He will be in a worse situation than if he had never known Jesus as Lord in the first place. One cannot be saved from sin if the Saviour who made this possible, is then disowned. Imagine being on a boat in a rough sea. The boat is keeping you safe from the elements and is without doubt your lifeline. But then you deliberately sink the boat. This is an an extreme situation obviously, knowingly rejecting Christ. I am not referring to human weaknesses, no matter how bad. |

The Erring Christian |
Reflections |
|
Despite being born again, accepting Christ in to our lives and becoming a Christian in the truest sense, all of us still have the old sin nature within us. We can, and most of us do at times, deliberately sin. It is true to say also, that some Christians can actually fall away from the faith to a great extent. Again becoming drawn in to the things of this world and become encompassed with doubts. No longer do they feel the evangelical zeal to win others to Christ which they once had.
Some may become what the Bible describes as cold Christians. They do not understand just what has happened to them and they now compromise their once clear cut Christian ideals. Surrounded by secular humanistic thought, they find they are accepting, often subconsciously, the constant anti Christian bombardment that surrounds them, and is often extolled by the secular media. Some will even be embarrassed to admit they are Christians, as they think they may be considered, un intellectual. Others may become so encompassed in the pleasures of the world, that their conscience becomes hardened. And so it goes on. Jesus is still waiting! Suggested reading: The Complete Works of Dr. Francis Schaeffer. Post Saved
When one is truly born again and has received the Lord Jesus in to ones life, In my personal experience (and I've pushed grace) there comes a point where out of concern for our well being, it becomes necessary for God to discipline His Erring Christians. As one writer so eloquently puts it 'out of love never anger.' As Born-Again believers who love our Lord, we cannot consistently sin without being convicted of it. (Neither would we want to if the Spirit of God lives within us) This is so that we confess our sins and restore our relationship with God. We cannot be truly happy unless we are living in accordance with God's will for us. |
A thought for the day
When something has been accepted as truth and taught in the schools for many decades, it becomes established and takes some challenging. People come to trust in that 'truth', in this case, evolution spanning millions of years, and it gives them a reason not to believe the confrontational reality and real truth that God is actually standing in front of them, giving them a gentle 'ahem', (a cough), and saying "I am real, how will you respond? The clock is ticking before you lose me forever. I am the 'Ark' who will rescue you from 'sin' which will pull you down to hell!" Anonymous Christian Friend

At times most of us experience problems that seem impossible to deal with. Life never runs smoothly for very long. We have good times and bad times. Peaks & troughs. For the Christian it is the same, but he has an advantage. No matter how bad the problem, underneath it is God's assurance, "I will never leave you, or forsake you." He does not need a prop, for he has God in reality. When we have faith and prayerfully trust God to handle our problems, well, find out for yourself if you haven't already. Faith not Feelings |
Conviction by the Holy Spirit V Loading of Guilt by satan There is a subtle, but very real difference between conviction of sin by our conscience and the Holy Spirit, and the loading of guilt on us by the forces of evil. It is at this juncture that the spirit of discernment is really needed, together with knowing that our salvation is not in doubt. Salvation is based on not how good we are, or how unworthy, "We are at our best, but as filthy rags" but how faithful good and trustworthy God is. We must know that our sins have been paid for, and know that God is not holding anything against us once we are are saved. All our sins were future tense from the time Christ paid the price for them. Know it, Believe it, Become effective for God FULL STOP. Not riddled with guilt and in effective. We cannot truly love someone if we think he is holding something against us and we cannot be truly happy unless we are living in accordance with God's will. How can we show a person his need of salvation, if we are riddled with doubts about our own? We are in a battle, a battle against the principalities, the powers, the dark rulers of this age. Put on the armour of God therefore and trust in Him. He is our Hope & Strength in reality. There is absolutely nothing we can do that He can't put right if we completely trust Him to do so. All things are possible for the God who loves us, and the principalities and powers can never separate us from that love. Grace = Unconditional, Un earned Pardon & Forgiveness. The meaning of GRACE, is the most important things to know in our Christian walk. In my own experience, the knowledge transformed me from a whimpish Christian constantly living in fear of being punished by God, to a man that truly loves Jesus as his real Saviour and Lord. Grace is so important yet sadly it is rarely emphasized in the Establishment Churches. Its almost like they have a fear of us finding out the truth. Yes, many faithfully extol what Jesus has done for us, even dogmatically recite the creeds, but still the emphasis is often on "Works" as a means of Salvation. Somehow Grace itself is put under the law. This law based, spiritually dead Christianity is often more in keeping with "Tradition" and maintaining society's values, than leading one to actually know the Lord as ones own personal saviour. Been there, Seen it, Done it. As Oswald Chambers again has said: The child of God is not first a British or American subject (or any other country) he is not a sanctified patriot, but one whose sympathies have broken all parochial bounds, and whose aims are in accordance with God's own heart. The difference between Law & Grace is crucial to know. The inspiration for the original Erring Christian Websites many years ago, it's as important now as it ever was. Unfortunately, an all embracing, liberal Christian Grace has permeated many churches. That is not what the the word of God teaches. Our salvation was purchased at an awful price, it is not to be taken lightly. It is my constant prayer that everything on the Erring Christian sites and also Rahabs Church, is in accordance with true doctrine and to the Glory Of God. |
|
Good works are the fruits of salvation, not the means of producing it. As Oswald Chambers so correctly stated. We depend on His word ultimately, not our feelings. For satan can and does exploit feelings. When a Christian starts to follow his natural inclination and focus on his own shortcomings, instead of knowing what Jesus has already done for him, he will soon become ineffective in his witness. The Guilt Trip is a killer and is the most used way to render a Christian ineffective. Even when we realise what is happening, the more sensitive of us still feel guilty and know we richly deserve punishment. When we sin, some of us will try to make up for our sin in order to regain God's favour. Cannot be done. Cannot be done Cannot be done. God has not stopped loving us, it is we that feel alienated from God. We are saved by faith, through grace, NOT BY WORKS. We cannot earn our way in to heaven, neither can we make up for our sins. We have already been washed clean when we accepted our sinless Lord as Saviour. His righteousness is imputed on us. Yes, it is Absolutely Fantastic what God has done for us so we can be saved. We, experientially deep in sin, seen as clean, holy and righteous because Jesus is. How can we not love him? When we sincerely confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins. But again, feelings, not faith can take their toll. We may not FEEL forgiven. But God's word states we are. FAITH not FEELINGS. Can you or I remember every sin we have ever committed? I know I can't mine. What if we have forgotten to confess a particular sin? When we pray forgive us our sins PLURAL. "Forgive us our trespasseS as we forgive those who trespass against us." Sometimes a specific sin will come to mind, and we confess it specifically. But as humans can we know for sure all we have done that is wrong? We have already been washed clean through Jesus. The omission of confessing a forgotten, not realised, sin, will not condemn us or effect our salvation. This may seem blatantly obvious and superfluous, but I mention it because the accuser of the brethren, satan, will use any means to make us unsure of our position in Christ. He does major on minors. I have also personally found that some sins I have committed years ago and forgotten, do come to mind at times. These I confess without hesitation. But doing so is not a pre requisite, just a personal habit, we are under GRACE.
While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. "That We May Have Forgiveness & Grace" Please add our link to your site |

Making Light of the God of Creation? It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Living God!
Salvation was purchased at an extremely costly price. There is no such thing as "Cheap Grace." You can't flirt with God and you can't fool with God. He is the Creator of all, without Him was nothing made and no mortal can match Him, in wisdom, intelligence or any other conceivable way. Not even come close. The Creation will never equal the Creator.
There is as much difference between the greatest human intellect and God, as there is between a micron and the universe. The Lord will reason with us, have mercy on us, forgive us for Jesus' sake, but ultimately, He is the Infinite & Eternal God.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Christ Died for Our Salvation
Free Click Video ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Reflections A thought for the day God is Not Holding Anything Against Us
When we harden or stiffen our hearts, we separate ourselves from our Heavenly
Father but He has not separated Himself from us. For we who have truly
accepted our Lord Jesus as our Personal Saviour, are redeemed by His precious
blood. We are seen as Holy and Righteous because He is Holy and Righteous, we
cannot improve on so great a gift.
God wants more of us and when that happens, we get more of Him. Our very being is inspired to cry out to a lost world, yes, there is an answer, Jesus loves us, Jesus died and rose again for us, death has been conquered. Hallelujah, Jesus is Lord. When as redeemed children of our Heavenly Father we still persist in doing things our way, we cause problems for ourselves, not God. But, even then when we disobey the call to do what we know to be right, our merciful Lord never gives up on us. He waits patiently for us to return to His safe keeping and cast our troubles on Him. The Main Points
1
John 4: 19 KJV: We love him, because he first loved us. |
Jesus
Christ is our Saviour & Lord. The price for our sins has been paid
already. If we still focus on our selves and our unworthiness despite
knowing this, then we will become ineffective in our walk with God and in
our ministry. Satan likes nothing better than to get a sensitive Christian
on a guilt trip. We are then out of the race where he is concerned. How
can we truly love God, if we think He is holding something against us?
Let
us give thanks
and praise to the one whom through His death and resurrection paid the ultimate price so we can be forgiven.
Let us worship Him who has washed us clean through the shedding of His
precious blood. How can we do anything but whole-heartedly love Him? 1 John 2: 1-2 KJV ... My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
||
|
Grace That Is Greater Than All Our Sins Sometimes after we have sinned, we feel a natural inclination to try to make up for it. Ephesians 2: 8-9 KJV: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. We cannot earn our way in to heaven. Good works are the fruits of salvation but not the means of producing it. |
Not of works, lest any man should boast" Good works alone never get anyone into heaven. We are redeemed by: "The Blood of the Lamb of God". John 3:16 Amplified Bible: For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only-begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish - come to destruction, be lost - but have eternal (everlasting) life. |
|
| Jesus, God's Son, took on Himself our sins. He suffered and died an agonising death for them, then three days later, rose again in order to give us the opportunity to be made clean and inherit eternal life in His presence. | The view that salvation can be earned, or is dependent on works (what we do), not only contradicts scripture, it implies that our sinless Lord's agonising, sacrificial death, was not enough to secure our redemption. | |
| Those that have genuinely confessed their need of forgiveness and asked Jesus into their lives, have received pardon for their sins. On the strength of God's own word the Bible, they are forgiven, their sins blotted out | We are seen as Holy and Righteous not because of anything we could ever do to earn forgiveness, but because of what Jesus has done for us. God is a god of love but of justice also. His justice has been satisfied, but at great cost and is not to be taken lightly. | |
|
|
||
| We are saved by the person of Jesus Christ who died for us! Not by religion, church membership, affiliations or even attending church. Think about it! Can the church save you? | The Bible believing church that glorifies the Lord is a wonderful thing, certainly Biblical, and it performs many and varied important functions. | |
|
|
We go there to worship God, fellowship with other believers and learn about Jesus. Many churches work for the good of mankind in many different ways. Not least of which those that point to Jesus as Saviour and Lord. But it is the resurrected Jesus that saves, and Him alone. | |
|
"If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature" Good works are the fruits of salvation, not the means of producing it. Oswald Chambers |
The Sex Workers Church Multi Denominational Bible Believing Doctrinally Sound What does the Bible actually say concerning prostitutes?
God is no respecter of persons. The Bible states that there are none righteous, no not one. We all fall short of God's perfect standard whether prostitute or priest. Even king Solomon himself fell on account of loose women? Jesus said to the proud and righteous Pharisees of His time? "The prostitutes & tax gatherers shall enter the kingdom of heaven before you." Proud & righteous!!! To the woman caught in the act of adultery Jesus said, "Let him who is without sin, cast the first stone." Mary Magdalene often referred to as a former prostitute, was the first to see the risen Christ. God actually told Hosea the old Testament prophet: "Go take thee a wife of whoredom and have children of her whoredom for the land has committed great whoredom and departed from the faith." The great man of God, Samson "went to Gaza, and saw there a harlot (prostitute) and went in to her." Judges 16 There is no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus. No one can earn their way into heaven, none of us are good enough. The price has been paid already for our eternal salvation. Will you accept this free gift? If you never accept it, you will never receive it. Our salvation was bought at a terrible price: Not asking you to change your ways. Just to 'Get Saved' and allow Jesus in to your life. What happens then is between you and Him. Be assured, you will never regret it. ... God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes, (trusts, clings to) in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life.
