Abridged Version

The Erring Christian Creation V Evolution link looked at areas that would need explaining if 'atheistic' evolutionary hypothesis were true in the sense that there is no Creator God, Master Architect or whatever other name you wish to use, to explain existence. This site explores the implications of holding to a random chance evolutionary concept, the philosophy based on it, and the resulting dilemma of modern man. The term 'atheistic' prefixes the word 'evolution' to differentiate between those who do not believe in a creator god, and those who reason that a superior intelligence manipulated evolution. The creationist argues that God, the superior intelligence out side of but intrinsically linked  to mankind, brought every thing in to being by a supernatural act of creation. Confronted with modern carbon dating methods, (adequately dealt with on many creationist web sites) arguments have arisen over the time period this took. Six literal 24 hour days as we know them with the original creation approximately six to seven thousand years ago. Alternatively, the age day theory which allows for much longer. (A day unto the Lord is as a thousand years) There are arguments on both sides.

Atheistic Evolutionary Hypothesis

To be true to 'atheistic' evolutionary hypothesis it is necessary to proceed on the supposition that there is not a God. Consequently, devoid of a creator, a supernatural intelligence and force outside of  mankind, everything there is, is purely a random chance occurrence that happened without any intelligent intervention, over millions of years in space/time history. It follows that there was and is, absolutely nothing to originate things coming into being. Nothing to generate, design, program, bring about, be instrumental in, cause to happen, provide data, or facilitate change. For if there is nothing there, there is nothing to instigate form and order. The only possible alternative to instrumentation and design by a superior intelligence is the premise that every thing there is came into being from something that has always existed (of itself). That something came into existence (by itself), or that something came into existence from absolutely nothing, (of it self), by complete random chance. Or, there is no answer.

Nothing = Nothing Zero Zilch

It is the only explanation and there is no escaping it.

Fact

We are confronted with the fact that things do exist and they exist in their entirety. Plant, animal and human life is actually there, complete and knowable. Jean Paul Sartre has said 'The basic philosophic question is that something is there rather than nothing is there'. Dr. Francis A. Schaeffer develops this: 'Nothing that is worth calling a philosophy can side-step the question of the fact that things do exist and that they exist in their present form and complexity'.

Evolutionary thought in conjunction with philosophy based on it, has been largely responsible for destroying any belief in absolutes. It denies there is a creator and subscribes to the time + chance + change theory. As such, the 'evolutionist' himself should not (honestly) imply or allude to anything that could be considered a supernatural motivational force. 'Nature' in the secular sense, has often proved a convenient all embracing scapegoat for the unexplainable by assuming properties of an un defined, 'supernatural kind.'  "By a quirk of nature,"  "Nature determined," "The wonders of nature." A superior intelligent force?

What is truth?

With man believing he is no more than an animal 'kicked up out of the slime by chance', he only has the consensus of opinion of other people as himself to establish right from wrong. In this respect, present day society is the complete antithesis of its predecessors. In the not too distant past, western society in particular, acted on the presupposition that there is an absolute basis for truth. There is a supreme intelligence in that there is a creator God. This provided a foundation on which its values could be founded, how right & wrong could be determined and a reason for its existence explained.

Western democracy was largely founded on Biblical principles, often shamefully misinterpreted and ruthlessly imposed. Conflicting doctrines resulted in factions within the church which were responsible for much bloodshed and suffering within that body. Selective use of scripture was instrumental in supporting particular ideologies and beliefs with scant regard to the commandment to love one another. This very division may have aided propagation and support for a thesis that by it's very nature, denied the existence of a creator god. With man alone in charge of his own destiny, believed true in many intellectual circles, man was free of all restraints and alone could create a utopian society. However, his freedom soon resulted in bondage and carnage of the worse kind. His god less existence gave rise to totalitarian domination which in many countries, prohibited his use of free speech and ultimately completely curbed his freedom. 

Atheistic evolutionary hypothesis played it's part in underpinning such exponents of god less ness as with Karl Marx; 'religion is the opiate of the people,' and the national socialism of Adolph Hitler. The philosopher Hegel was a very relevant factor in this. His statement, "history teaches that man learns nothing from history," is none the less very true. A lesson that still has not been learnt. Despite the various philosophies to the contrary, a belief in God the Creator was generally adhered to by western culture. By general acceptance of the Judaeo Christian God's word as the absolute basis for truth, society as a whole and individuals in particular, could relate to truths as laid down by God himself in scripture.

Relative Thinking

The difference in the way we define truth, is the legacy of yet another philosopher who could not personally believe in anything outside of his senses. By his denial of an absolute basis for truth, he introduced 'relative thinking.' This has successfully been aligned with evolutionary hypothesis in undermining any belief in a supernatural intelligence.

Whilst in the past cause and effect logic enabled people to ascertain meaning, (Methodology of Antithesis), relative terms prohibit a direct approach to truth. They are incapable by their very format of providing this. (Methodology of Synthesis). Consequently they have deprived many of understanding let alone believing in an absolute basis for truth.  

Methodology

Methodology of antithesis: If A is true then non A cannot also be true. ............... Absolute

Methodology of synthesis: One fact or thesis, working against another fact or thesis, produces a new fact or thesis. This in turn working against another fact or thesis, produces a new fact or thesis. This in ................ No absolutes.

The Affect on Modern Man

If man truly accepts the premise that he is no more than a product of chance, a higher form of animal, then why need he accede to pressure to uphold generally held values?

The Demise of Family Values

There are families, which experience a complete breakdown in communication from parents to children. The concepts of truth held by the parents can be diametrically opposed to that of their children. Whilst the parents may have been educated at a time when Christian values were taught, when truth had a basis and life had meaning, their children may be increasingly exposed to teaching that denies any such base. Teaching that has accepted evolutionary premise. Their children, in turn are devoid of any foundation in Christian ethics.

No God, No Reason, No Conscience.

Feelings & Emotions

No god and no resurrection from the dead and subsequently no final account of our misdemeanours. Human feelings, conscience and emotions are meaningless. Kindliness, good manners, a willingness to do good may well have meaning on a day to day basis, even be applauded by one's friends, but in the final analysis they are a pointless exercise. Ultimately it makes absolutely no difference if man is a liar, a cheat, a fornicator or a dedicated worker for the good of mankind? He dies and that is his final end.

Society

When society no longer accepts the supposition of absolute truth, the Creator God, then the democratic process itself has no infinite authority to relate to. The difficulty modern society has in dealing with its present day malcontents is that it can no longer provide an adequate reason to establish why they should conform to its values.

By teaching in its schools evolutionary theory as thinly disguised fact and basing its philosophies on 'atheistic' evolutionary premise, then no matter how profound the philosophy, they have no way of substantiation. They have no infinite reference point. Man can only observe the effects of his conjecture. Yet another consequence of accepting 'atheistic' evolutionary premise. Atheistic philosophy is capable of doing incalculable harm and of being exploited by those who would promote anarchy.

Do you ever wonder why some people act as they do? Why some are capable of blatant evil and scorn dearly held values? Why their inherent sin nature is allowed full reign? Can you now appreciate why some sink into depression and despair? If man accepts the belief he is simply a product of chance, he can have no real meaning or purpose to his life? So what does anything really matter anyway? In my opinion, the perpetrators of 'atheistic' evolutionary hypothesis no matter how well intentioned have done inconceivable harm. Do you wonder where it will all lead? Does the Christian realise the powers behind it? Is the media completely innocent in its portrayal of nature from an evolutionary perspective? Is not Creation Science a largely ignored factual alternative?

 Is then belief in God just a convenience for the supposed benefit of mankind? 

The 'Empty' God

Now a day's belief in God the Creator is again being eroded away. The rendering of the expression 'God' is in most secular and some Christian circles devoid of any real substance. It is often used for its connotations with the past, when the term itself had meaning. The artificiality of some liberal Christian churches is hardly different from their secular counterpart. The reason for this change has mainly arisen by acceptance of the theory of evolution, as fact.  The dark cloud of evolutionary hypothesis has permeated even the institutions that hitherto glorified Christ.

I have heard it said by a dedicated evolutionist that a 'vague' belief in a god of some sort should be encouraged to provide a reason for existence! A belief system that can be manipulated to accord with present day thinking, and thus used to give a foundation to  it's values? A compromised, luke warm church in fact that provides an illusion of spirituality, a placebo for the weak, a social club with religious overtones. Without active content! 

The fact remains that for evolutionary conjecture to be true, every thing there is would have had to come into existence by shear, random chance, by itself, without intelligent help.

The Judaeo Christian Bible is not simply a system of beliefs without justification, definitely not. It is THE answer to life. The only real explanation of existence!  Furthermore, the Creator of all communicated to His creation, as Dr Francis Schaeffer puts it: True truth! Not exhaustive truth, but sufficient.

The child of God is not first a British or American subject. (Or any other country for that matter) He is not first a sanctified patriot. But one who's sympathies cross all parochial boundaries, and who's aims beat in unison with God's own heart.  Oswald Chambers

Experientially, the logic and conclusions of a product of chance existence, is not in practice fully implemented. Modern secular man may subscribe to this belief, nevertheless, he cannot and does not consistently live as if it were fact. Modern man is a living contradiction to the premise that he is no more than an animal and ultimately does not matter. Despite being bombarded with 'atheistic' evolutionary dogma, acceptance of the belief is contrary to his very makeup. In his mind, he may believe it but he is incapable of living it.

He cannot consistently live as if life did not make sense. Up to a certain extent he will maintain values, express his opinions, which he believes have meaning and usually he is capable of being affected by tragedy. Whilst there are exceptions, overall he can show real compassion and even inconvenience himself for a worthy cause. He may not even be a Christian but most cannot escape from a God given conscience. He may rebel against it; he may not believe it; that does not alter the truth. In the beginning, God created all living things, and without Him was nothing made.

Man's very being, his very substance is in total conflict with the view that ultimately he is nothing, a meaningless chance occurrence. If man consistently lived as if this were so then we would have a total hell on earth. The Bible states: Man is created in God's own image. As such he has meaning, he has worth, he is a special person. So special in fact that God himself made it possible for man to inherit eternal life without impeding on his free will. Man has the free choice, accept God's way of salvation, or reject it at his own cost.

The Holy Spirit

Whilst the atheist evolutionist may consider himself free of supernatural influence because of his disbelief, the Bible categorically states there is a tangible and evil spiritual force operative within our world. "The whole world is in the power of the evil one."  Often made light of these days, (Satan hails a materialist or a magician with the same delight) this force known as the Devil, Satan  and many other  pseudonyms, has already been defeated by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ at Calvary. The Born Again Christian is in fact born out of the world system when he genuinely accepts Jesus Christ as his Saviour and Lord. He should love the world, (Christ died for it's salvation) but is not of the world.

Suffice it to say; despite being encompassed with the forces of evil, the great hinderer, the Holy Spirit, the third part of the God Head is present in our world. Whilst He is, we may not yet expect total chaos. There is a profound reason why man, despite having free will, does not completely destroy himself. The reason itself, is that third part of the Holy Trinity the Holy Spirit.

We are still living in an age of Grace. It is possible for the sincere seeker of truth to find the answer to life, the only true answer.

The Emptiness.

Man who is not saved, who is not born again does experience an inner void. Man who does not know God has emptiness in him. He may try to ignore it, deny its existence, or escape from it by continuous pursuit of pleasure. He will never find complete satisfaction until the void is satisfactorily filled, until his life takes on real meaning. If its not filled by the truth, Jesus Christ Himself, it will always be there. The only way to quieten that inner craving, that knowledge that something is missing from his life is to accept Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour & Lord.

He is The Way, The Truth and The Life.

The Answer.

There is the one real answer to existence: The Absolute Divine Being that communicated truth to His creation. The greatest of all intelligence that is as far from man's comprehension as a microbe is from a planet. One answer that consists of the three persons of the Holy Trinity, Father Son and Holy Spirit. Three Persons in one, joined by an infinite bond of love that in itself provides the answer to the philosophical question pertaining to Diversity in Unity.

The creator God that so loves His creation that He gave His only begotten Son to die a terrible death for its sins. By acceptance of the risen Christ Jesus, anyone of any race, colour or creed that believes on the substitutionary death of Christ in his place, should not perish but have everlasting life. The God that gave us completely free will to accept or reject Him. Freedom to follow our own course in life without recourse to Him if we so wish. By that same token, be prepared for the consequences of so doing. The God whose hitherto patience with mankind cannot be paralleled or comprehended. The God that allows us to fellowship with Him. The God that will accept us just as we are for the sake of His Son the risen Lord Jesus Christ. The God of Grace and mercy for those that believe on Him and have accepted Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord. Those who are seen as Holy and Righteous because He is Holy and Righteous. The God that paid the ultimate price for our salvation so His justice would be satisfied. The God that demands faith. But a fearful God of justice for those who have rejected His offer of salvation.

The Erring Christian Home Web Site looked at the difference between Law & Grace. In the main we let scripture speak for itself. In so doing, it was accepted that the scriptures were divinely inspired by the Superior Intelligence, God the creator. As such it is reasonable to believe the Creator of all would communicate to humankind who were a direct result of His intelligent creation. It follows humanity in turn would pass such communication on.

Initially, the various customs, laws, and the Ten Commandments that His people, the Jews, had to adopt were given to them personally by God. After The Law was given to Moses by God, humanity knew, not exhaustively perhaps, there were absolute standards to which it was expected to conform for it's own well being. Such was the importance of them to the Jew's in particular and mankind in general. They were precisely documented and are available to us In the Holy Bible.

Scripture plainly teaches that the law was given to show what 'sin' is. Without it there would not have been anyway to know. (Present day?) Even so, man would still have believed there was a reason for his existence thus giving meaning to his life, in that he had a great advantage over many modern men.  

In like manner the age of Grace was truly implemented through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God's own Son. He in His own person took the sins of the world on Himself for those that believe. In him was the law fulfilled.

St. Paul states: 'Except through law I should never have become acquainted with sin. For example, I should never have known what it was to covet, if the law had not said, 'Thou shalt not covet.' Again: 'When Gentiles who do not possess the law carry out its precepts by the light of nature, then, although they have no law, they are their own law, for they display the effect of the law inscribed on their hearts. Their conscience is called as witness, and their own thoughts argue the case on either side' ... As we progress through scripture divinely inspired guidelines instruct, prophecy and warn!!!

Statement of Faith

The whole universe came into being as a result of personal creation by God. He is the Alpha & Omega. The beginning & the end. There were none before Him & can be none after Him. The Holy Bible is The Word of God the Holy Trinity Father Son & Holy Spirit. We are saved by Grace through Faith by personally accepting Jesus Christ as our Saviour & Lord. There is no other way of salvation except through Jesus. We can be seen as Holy and Righteous because Jesus, God's only begotten Son is Holy & Righteous and paid the price for all our sins. No sin is too big for God to forgive. When we respond to God's offer of salvation by genuinely asking Jesus in to our heart and lives and sincerely desire His forgiveness for our sin's, we are granted salvation. Good works are the fruits of salvation, not the means of producing it.
