Choir
Our performing choir is open to students in 5th through 8th grade. Rehearsals are conducted during the school day. The choir gives a number of performances during the school year. Choir students are required to participate in these performances. In addition the Choir may go on a spring tour. This tour if offered, is optional.
Band
Band is offered to students in 4th through 8th grade. Rehearsals are conducted during the school day. The band gives a number of performances during the school year. Band students are required to participate in these performances.
Outdoor Education
Outdoor Education experiences are available at various times throughout the school year. Visits are made to nature centers. Some of the centers that have been visited in the past include: Afton Apple Orchard, Belwin Nature Center, Warner Nature Center, Maplewood Nature Center and the Wildlife Sanctuary.
Each year the 8th graders spend one week in the boundary waters area in northern Minnesota near Ely. Camp WIDJI is a YMCA sponsored camp and is staffed the week of our attendance by YMCA staff and three or more adult supervisors from/associated with East St. Paul Lutheran. To help prepare for Camp WIDJI, the seventh graders have a three day outdoor experience at Camp Omega located near Faribault, MN.
Yearbook
A committee of 8th and 7th grade students, under the direction of a faculty supervisor, annually produces an attractive school yearbook which is available near the end of the school year. Forms for the purchase of the yearbook are sent home prior to their arrival.
Field Trips
Various field trips are made during the year. Field trips have been made to the Minnesota History Center, The Science Museum of Minnesota, Fort Snelling, the Titanic Exhibition and to many different plays. The cost of these field trips is covered in the registration fee paid at the beginning of the school year. No additional collections are made.
