4 Seests in Paradise
Healthy YOU!
This page is being created to hopefully encourage readers (and
MYSELF!) in seeking and maintaining a healthy, God-pleasing
physical lifestyle. I have links to some excellent nutrition
experts whose books, vitamins, and natural food products I have
benefitted from. But I want this to be much more than a links
page...I want to share my heart-felt and Bible-based convictions
with you about taking care of our bodies, which are the temples
of the Holy Ghost!

Take a moment right now to read these verses:
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the
Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for
the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
I Corinthians 3:16 & 17
That passage of Scripture was a real challenge to me. I always
want to claim the promises of God's Word, but how often I
forget that the LORD desires our obedience before He
gives us rewards! I'm not talking legalism, because I'm not
talking about soul salvation, which is through Christ's blood
atonement for our sin. When I say "obedience brings reward",
I'm talking about a Christian's obedience to God's Word bringing
REWARD, PROMISES FULFILLED.
Now, look at this verse with me:
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink,
or whatsoever ye do,
do all to the glory of God.
I Corinthians 10:31
Another challenge! Can I honestly say
before God that what I am eating, drinking, and doing to this
temple He has entrusted me with to serve and honor Him with is
glorifying Him? Wow. I take that verse to mean that I need to know
what foods He wants me to eat and what beverages He wants me
to drink as important, though usually the "whatsoever ye do" is
what we concentrate on.
So, what exactly does God's Word say about our physical
bodies?
First of all, let me tell you how I view God's Word *_* We are
told in II Timothy 3, All Scripture is given by inspiration
of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for
correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of
God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good
works.
I'll go ahead and state for the record that I believe that the
Bible is God's Word, and that from cover to cover it is filled
with His instruction for us. It's sad...we would believe a doctor's
prescription if he told us what foods to eat and not to eat,
but why do we as Christians fuss at God about the foods He says
in the Bible that His people are to partake of and abstain from? He has told us what to
abstain from and what is actually created for food in verses throughout the
scripture, and I want to bring some of them to mind here as a
challenge & encouragement in our diet.
Food and drink are only part of what we need to care for our
physical selves though. SO, when this study is "complete", we
will have included what the Bible has to say on several topics,
listed below *_*

AIR/BREATH,
LIGHT,
God-Pleasing FOOD,
WATER,
EXERCISE,
THOUGHTS/GODLY MEDITATION

I will be covering each of these topics over time,
hopefully encouraging each of us from God's Word to truly find
out what we can do with our physical selves to glorify Him and be a good testimony to the lost around us!

The MAIN Book and the only inerrant one from which I will quote

not put a copyright on God's Word. I will give the Scripture
