I would like this to be a spot where you can sit and read
about interesting books that I have read, enjoyed, and even
"gleaned" from.
#1, The Holy Bible.

Well, of course I have to include the books I WROTE here now!!!
The first, second, and third--
No Accident,
Our Refuge,
&
A Time of War
are already in print,
and the 4th Never Forsaken is due out soon, praise the LORD!

A Historical series of enduring romance.
Based in Baltimore, Maryland, the series begins in the late 1880's.

"Beautiful for Thee" from the Sword of the LORD Jubilees for Women has been a special blessing to me for YEARS. There is even a chapter on being single, which I had read while still single and just re-read and still get a blessing from!! For example:
p. 75, "You can't control what people are going to say to you, but you can control the way you respond to it."
and
p. 81, "There are going to be times when you are simply overwhelmed. Psalm 142:3 says, 'When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path.' The only way to handle those experiences is to immediately lift your heart in praise and adoration to the LORD, to tell Him once more than you love Him and that He is all you need. There will come a very sweet realization of your loving Protector and Friend."
Those are both very God-honoring pieces of advice, whether single or married! And we can also use this chapter to singles to better council those who are single. But the whole book is filled with blessing after blessing, pointing the reader to God and to being "beautiful" for Him, not just ourselves or even our spouses, for our heavenly Bridegroom *_*

A book I would DEFINITELY recommend:
"Quality Friendship" by Gary Inrig
Some quotes...p. 26:
"A friend is someone committed to help his friend realize God's purpose and potential for his life."
The book uses the Bible friendship of David & Jonathan as an example throughout of what a godly friendship should be.
Another quote...from p. 65:
"No human friend, whatever his gifts,
can be what only God can be to us."
& p. 94: "We will not always be there in a time of
need,
but He will be."

One of my favorite authors is Lori Wick. Her historical
fiction I have quite a collection of, and I enjoy reading them
again and again! She has the gospel woven throughout her
stories, which I have done in the books I have written. I think
it would be safe to say that Jane Austen is a favorite
authoress of both Lori Wick and myself, as I have seen both
style and name similarities in her books *_*
Here is my favorite, the English Garden Series. I'm hoping for
one more story, marrying off a fellow I really think would make
a great father and husband; but she says she's finished with
this series *_*

FYI - I'm sorry to say that I cannot across the board recommend
all of Lori Wick's books, as many of her more "current"
stories contain quotes from bibles credited to men rather than the Author of the Holy Bible, Who is
God. But The English Garden Series, set in Victorian England,
uses The Holy Bible for all Scripture references.

I've read Tim LaHaye & Jerry B. Jenkins' "Left Behind" Series...WOW.
Talk about something that will make you get out and win souls!!!
When you read these, realizing that those who have not accepted
Jesus Christ as their personal Savior will suffer these
terrible, biblically foretold trials, you'll be a more fervent
witness, too!! But I must say, the best Book to inspire you to
share the Gospel with others is The Holy Bible *_* Daniel,
Revelation, Zechariah, Isaiah.... Powerful reading inspired by
God. But "Left Behind" is good writing, and inspiring though
not plenary inspiration!

I John 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
Final statement?
GOD IS GREAT.
National Best-selling author C. Hitchens?
Not so great.
But we can always pray that he will come to know our great God and His love *_*
Jennifer M. Seest - a virtually unknown author who will praise the great God in every book she is privileged to write!!!!!

8/23/05 - I just did a look-see at the New York Times
Best Sellers List for the 3rd week of
August. At number one in Hardcover fiction sits The DaVinci
Code by Dan Brown, as has been the case for nearly a year.
Ummm...note of interest....
The Da Vinci Code has sold millions of copies.
Hey, NYT, done a tally of how many Holy Bibles have been
purchased since 1611??
One of the best Christian write-ups on
the subject I found at Far
Eastern Bible College. Please, if you are a Christian, do
not pour money into this godless apostate's pockets by
purchasing this heretical book! Although Brown's book is listed
in "fiction", his interviews on top TV News morning shows touts
that, aside from the fictional characters, the book is TRUTH. I
do hope he comes to recognize the real Truth (John 14:6) before
it is eternally too late, but I fear that what he has written
in attempts to make money by publishing mega-controverial
heresy will leave millions of curious, amusement- and
pleasure-worshipping Americans in the dark...eternally.
