Having Done All To Stand
It is time that we stop giving up on
Ephesians 6:13-18 "Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;" It does not say give up! Jesus could have gave up before going to the cross. He did not have to come to this world for us; but, he saw the need and realized He was our only hope back to God. Jesus went through alot. 1.When he was a young age, he taught men in the temple. His parents had to come back and get him. Did he rebel, NO, he obeyed. Luke 2:41-52 "Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover. 42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast. 43 And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it. 44 But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance. 45 And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him. 46 And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. 47 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers. 48 And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. 49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business? 50 And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them. 51 And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart. 52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man." 2.When he did his first miracle, he
told his mom that is wasn't his time. But notice, he did it, (he set the
example of being under parental authority.
3.He was not received in his own town. (Family, Friends or Neighbors) Matthew 13:57 "And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house." 4. The Pharisees sought to kill him. Mark 11:18 "And the scribes
and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for
they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine."
5. When he needed his disciples to be there for him when he prayed, they fell asleep on him. Matthew 26:40-41 "And he cometh
unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What,
could ye not watch with me one hour?
6. When his friend that he loved like
a brother died, He wept, then stood on His fathers promises.
John 11:40-44 "Jesus saith unto
her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest
believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? 41 Then they took
away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted
up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that
thou hast heard me. 42 And I knew that thou
hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it,
that they may believe that thou hast sent me. 43 And when he thus
had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus,
come forth. 44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot
with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith
unto them, Loose him, and let him go."
7. When He prayed so hard in the garden his sweat was as blood, he could have called the angles. Luke 22:44 "And being in an
agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops
of blood falling down to the ground."
8. When he was tempted in the wilderness He spoke the word. Matthew 4:4-10 "But he answered
and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread
alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a
pinnacle of the temple, 6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God,
cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning
thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou
dash thy foot against a stone. 7 Jesus said unto him, It
is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. 8 Again,
the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him
all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto
him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship
me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence,
Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him
only shalt thou serve."
9. When He was chosen over Barabbas to be crucified. Matthew 27:17-26 "Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ? 18 For he knew that for envy they had delivered him. 19 When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him. 20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus. 21 The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas. 22 Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified. 23 And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified. 24 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it. 25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children. 26 Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified." 10. When he was being whipped, having his beard pulled out, mocked and nailed to the cross, He still could have called angels to help -- Matthew 27:27-31 "Then the soldiers
of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him
the whole band of soldiers. 28 And they stripped him, and put on him a
scarlet robe. 29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put
it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee
before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! 30 And they
spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head. 31 And after
that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his
own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him."
BUT HE DID NOT! JESUS STOOD!!!!! None of us can fully comprehend all that Jesus went through, sure, we may think that we can , but we cant. Most of us would have gave up. When you get your feelings hurt, you
want to give up.
Put on your armor. We are in the army of the Lord, we re to be strong and courageous and powerful. Time is running out. We need to reach the Lost. But if they see us weak or down, they wont want Jesus. They need to see life is different when we say that we are a Christians. I have a close friend that you hardly ever see down. One day, I asked her how she did it, KEEP THE VICTORY! She told me. Sure, she had her share of trials too, but she has kept the victory. We need to get a hold of that!!! I am tired of people saying , oh ya, your rejoicing now, but just wait. Well, DONT ACCEPT THAT OVER YOUR LIFE! Sure, we are going to cry, but why not rejoice? Know that as you are being tried in the fire, the enemy does not like you. Therefore, you must be doing something right. Also, when we compare our life to Jesus' life, how can we stay down all the time? Jesus know the whole time his purpose was to die on the cross for your sins. yet, one time , in the garden, he asked if it be God's will to let this cup pass from him, but it was the will of God for Jesus to die on the cross. When you feel your about to let go of a promise, ask the Lord to help you to hold on. I heard a minster say one time, just as you are at the roughest time, that is when you are bout to receive your promise /blessing from God. Your spouse, children or friends might be on the other side of that line ready to give their life to the Lord. REMEMBER ,
