WE HAVE THE POWERIN THE NAME OF JESUS
Are the storm clouds brewing? Is the storm in your home raging so bad that you don't know what to do? We've got the power in the name of Jesus to over come this!! Do you remember this song? WE'VE GOT THE POWER
We've got the power in the name of
Jesus,
According to Revelation 12:11 "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony;and they loved not their lives unto the death. " Notice 3 things in this verse 1. The overcame him. Who is him? Satan
our enemy.
When we become a christian, that blood that Jesus shed for the remission of our sins is applied to our heart. As we grow in the Lord, we begin to seek after the Holy Ghost. When we receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost, it is not just for praying in a heavenly language, but for Power-- Acts 1:8 "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." So, we know that we have to have the Power from the Lord to make it through and to be over comers. Power means: ability to do or act; capability of doing or accomplishing something. delegated authority; authority granted to a person or persons in a particular office or capacity: a person or thing that possesses or exercises authority or influence. a deity; divinity: the heavenly powers. Luke 10:19 "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." When we go through storm after storm, and the enemy is raging; hold on to that word that the Lord has given you. When the Lord gave this to me, I was going through one of the worse battles of my life. God promised me that he prepared the table before my enemies. He let me know that he would never leave me nor forsake me (Hebrews 13:5-6) He told me not to fear man. Also that circumstances after circumstances has hit my life, -BUT KEEP MY EYES ON HIM AND NOT THE CIRCUMSTANCE. An example of this is with Peter. Matthew 14:22-31 "And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. 23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. 24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. 25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. 27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. 28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. 29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. 31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?" Notice what Peter did. The other disciples thought it was a spirit, -but when the Lord said "it is I" Peter said " bid I come unto thee"-- then oopsy, Peter realized his circumstance. For it was not humanly possible to walk on water. Yet-- instead of sinking all the way, HE CRIED OUT TO THE LORD TO SAVE HIM and, IMMEDIATELY Jesus stretched forth his hand and said unto Peter "Oh thou of little faith, wherefore did thou doubt?" That was the key " DOUBT". When you take your eyes off the Lord for even a second, you begin to doubt and sink. When you realize what you did (doubt) cry out to the Lord immediately. He will hear your cry and help you. John 16:24 "Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full." The word says to ask and ye shall receive. That is what we are to do. The Lord is there to help us and protect us. HOWEVER, WE HAVE TO OPEN OUR MOUTH AND HEARTS. Get as much of the word in you as possible. For David said in Psalms 119:11 "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." When you have the word, you can say to satan like the Lord did, "IT IS WRITTEN" (See Matthew 4:7 and 10) You will be surprised the boldness that rises up in you. That is the power. It is time that we exercise what we have!!! Don't let it lay dormant any longer. 1 Peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:" I WANT SATAN TO KNOW THAT I AM A CHRISTIAN!! THAT I HAVE POWER IN THE NAME OF THE LORD --- WONT YOU JOIN ME?????? This song was sent to me by Elizabeth
