WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO STUDY?

The word study in the greek means to make effort, be promt or earnest, labour.
So to study Gods word, we need to put forth and effort. that means we need to take time out daily!! We should do this first thing of each day. Set your alarms early if you need to, it will be worth it!!! You wont be able to imagine the difference it will make in your life and those around you too.

As we study, we learn and memorize the word of God in our hearts.

(Psa 119:11-16 KJV)"Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes. With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word."

David is a great axample to us today. This man was an annointed chosen vessel of God since he was very young. God used him in mighty ways. David was human and slipped up; yet, God forgave him-- and David moved on. We see by Davids example -- study the word, hide it in our hearts!!! When we are tempted, going through a battle, need to be a prayer partner/ warrior for someone, we will be able to let the word rise up in us.

If we just read every now and then, how are we going to learn God's ways and His word? We live in terrible times according to 2nd Thess. We can see the signs of the times all around us. If ever was a time to STUDY, the time is NOW!!! How are we going to make it through, much less withness to the lost, broken in spirit, sick and dying world UNLESS WE ARE FULL OF THE WORD!!

God is telling his children to RISE UP!!! When we got saved, it was not to sit on the pue of do nothing, but to spread the gospel into all the world. It is not mean for us to be weak, sick , oppressed, depressed ---- I am not saying that you wont face a battle once you give you life to the Lord, BUT IF WE CAN JUST GET A HOLD OF THE WORD, WE CAN KEEP THE VICTORY THROUGH IT ALL!!!!

God said in James 4:2 that we have not cause we ask not,
John 14:14 Jesus said, "if you ask anything in my name, I will do it."

ANYTHING!!!! He knows what we are going through. He desires fellowship with us, to read and study His word, and to pray!!!

2nd Timothy 2:15 " Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

We should put God first and foremost in all that we do. Some people are just not getting it today. I have heard that God does not heal anymore. Well in Revelations it says do not take away from or add to the word of God. There are many people that are healed. You must have faith, do not doubt God when you pray, when you doubt, you tie Gods hands from performing that miracle that you just asked for.
If you believe that you can be saved from you sins, then you must believe the WHOLE BIBLE, Gods word will not return void. All of his word is still the same.
for Jesus said in Hebrews that he was the same yesterday , today and forever. That tells me that the miracles that he did while he was on earth are still being performed. You just have to have faith!!!
Matthew 17:20-21"And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting."

Are you studying Gods word the way he would want you too? Do you have scripture memorized in your heart besides your head? We are fortunate in America that we have bibles!! There are several countries that dont have that privledge. One day, we may have the same problem, ask yourself, Do I have enough of the word in my heart to sustain me in the battle?????
