Are You Walking On Water?

 

      Wow!! What a statement huh? Certainly I am not talking about physical, but spiritual water. Are you willing, and do you have the faith to step out and walk with the Lord not matter what?

As Jesus walked on the water to the disciples, they did not realize it was him at first. Peter was the only one out of the whole boat to say "Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. "(matt 14:28)

Now sure, Peter know hew as on the boat out in the middle of the water, but did that bother to him at first?? NO! He began to step out and go to the Lord.
Notice 1: He did not look to see if any one else was going 
2. He did not listen to doubt 
3. He went.

     It was not until he was already walking on the water that he looked at the circumstance. That is how we are. When the Lord says to do this or that, or go here or there, we go or we do. It is not until we are on the way that we see circumstances.  Peter asked the Lord to help him when he realized he let the circumstance pull him under.
     That is the key. HE ASKED FOR HELP!  He did not say, oh me, oh my. but he went straight to his deliver. He did not get in a pity party, but he got picked up! He overcame!!
Jesus said to Peter, "O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?" 
(matt 14:31) Now can you just imagine how Peter must have felt? He can see that Jesus is walking on the water, they had already seen miracle after miracle performed; yet he let his eyes wonder for just a second. BUT NOTICE, THAT IS ALL IT TOOK, just a second.

I know how Peter must have felt when Jesus said that- upset, disappointed, and hurt that the Lord had to say that for I was in a situation too that God had already done miracle after miracle in my life and around me, yet I looked at the circumstance. The Lord ministered to me "Have I ever let you down? Why do you doubt me now? " All I could do was cry and repent for my unbelief. Then I rose back up, held my head high, and walked on the water with Jesus help as Peter did. 
Matthew 14:32  "And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased."

Times like this is when we need to keep our faith built up! Get as much of the word of God in you as you can. Know that if the Lord told you to do something, or the circumstances of life are all around you, you will be all right as long as you keep your eyes on Jesus!!!
