I know at first you would expect to see lots
of wedding pictures and all kind of things here. This page is going to
be just a little bit different. My husband and were married for 16 years
on June 2nd. However, the beginning of July, we were on the verge
of divorce. A wedge had been placed between us among other things. Thank
the Lord that we BOTH knew to turn to God. In the times we live, divorce
is as common among Christians as the world. This should not be. Sometimes
there is divorce among Christian couples because one - or both of
them are not where they need to be with the Lord-- Or wont turn to God
to be their help in times of trouble.
On Sunday July 9, God ministered to both of
us to trust Him and that he would restore our marriage- giving us a greater
love and joy than before-- but we needed to put the past in the past
and move on. July 10, Norman brought some rose to my job and got on both
knees and asked me to marry him all over again! Of course I said yes. God
immediately began restoring our marriage. We both had to lean 100% on God
for this to happen. God gave us July26th as the date to renew our vows.
When we were originally married 16 years ago, it was on June 2nd. God let
us know this was a new beginning , a time of refreshing. This was to be
very spiritual. Norman shared that the Lord showed him when you get saved,
you should renew your vows to each other, as we were married in "sin" before.
Now that we both are Christians, it was time to truly become one in Christ.
We had a beautiful little ceremony at our pastors
house. A sister in Christ that my husband and I look up too was there
with us and shared that it was one of the most spiritual events that she
had ever been to. The presence of God was thick in that living room!
It was wonderful for us to have Gods anointing and blessing placed on our
marriage!!!!! It is our prayer that if ANY couple is having thoughts of
divorce let us both encourage you that God can restore your love for each
other. It takes the husband and the wife to realize that God is number
one and turn to God in the time of crisis as well as in the good times.
We pray that you will take time to renew your love for each other also!!
We need to be a generation of no compromise!!! Let show the world that
God
does make a difference in our lives. For when the world sees Christian
homes in divorce- they wonder where is the God that they serve? Where is
the love, hope and faith that should make the difference.
The following is a song that we played at the
wedding. Please read the words carefully.
God Causes All Things To Grow
by Steve Green with Marijeane Green
Dreams dressed in white, vows made by candlelight
Hoping to find out what true love is all about
A quiet fear, where do we go from here
So many wake and see love slowly disappear
****************************************
But, God causes all things to grow through every season we know
He will guard the light that is planted in our souls
And when we feel the cold winds blow, We'll hold to what we know
God causes all things to grow.
****************************************
I know where I failed, My weakness has been unveiled
And yet by grace you chose to love & to forgive
So, come what may, our home is here to stay
Our witness to the lasting promise He has made
God causes all things to grow through every season we know
He will guard the light that is planted in our souls
And when we feel the cold winds blow, We'll hold to what we know
God causes all things to grow.
****************************************
God causes all things to grow through every season we know
He will guard the light that is planted in our souls
And when we feel the cold winds blow, We'll hold to what we know
God causes all things to grow.
And we know, God causes all things to grow.

Sherries Vows to Norman
As we stand here today to renew our vows, we are renewing our love for
one another. We are making a stand showing everyone that God can make a
big difference in our lives. Just three weeks ago, it seemed as if our
worlds were falling apart. I was ready to call it quits because I felt
like I couldn't go on anymore. In all reality, I did call it quits. I renounced
the doubt that had been spoken over our lives. I renounced the baggage
that had been placed on me. I called it quits to the person I use to be.
As we renew our vows to one another -- this relationship will be more than
the physical, but it will become intimate. Your happiness will be my
happiness, your sorrow will be my sorrow. I will learn day by day what
makes you who you are and become interested in the things that you like
to do. Through these past couple weeks, I have learned to let go of a lot
of
the past -- even a past that I cant fully remember. It is my prayer
that we will be able to pray together, read & study Gods word together
and have a healthy balance in our lives. I pray that I will bring you the
joy that a wife should. The Lord ministered to us both on the 9th of this
month for both of us to trust Him and believe that he would move in our
lives and that we would have more love & joy than before. I have seen
that begin to happen- Isaiah 43:18-19 says "Remember ye not the former
things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing;
now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way
in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert." I pray that we will truly
be a godly family - the family God intended us to be. I thank God for this
new beginning with you as we continue in our journey of life marriage and
parenthood.
Normans vows to Sherrie
From the first time our eyes met, I knew I loved you. As I look in your
eyes today, I know you carry the other half of my heart. God put us together
with love and compassion and the devil's tried to rip us apart. God's word
does not return void, neither does His love or grace. I stand
here today a changed man. God's grace and mercy has set me free to
love Him and You !
The bible says to return and do your first works over. Now as we become
one in each other, we may travel over mountains or through valleys. We
both know God's there and He already knows our tomorrow. So, I offer my
love to you and give God the rest to take care of. For without Him, we
would be nothing. From this day forward, I'm here to comfort you and help
you for marriage is sharing and caring. There is an old saying " A penny
for your thoughts" Well, here is the first 200. (Then he handed me 4 rolls
of pennies).
I LOVE YOU.
If you have been blessed by how God has renewed our marriage, please
email us to let us know.
