Faith Righteousness

But now the Righteousness of God apart from the law is Revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets. (Romans 3:21)

Righteousness Consciousness

What is a Righteousness Consciousness?  We’re going to learn some knot tying lessons, (like how to “Fear Not” and especially the “Sin Not”). Let’s talk about ”faith righteousness”.

But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Yahoshua, (the Messiah), to all and on all who believe (Romans 3:21‑22)

I am finding out that what other preachers said about righteousness was true, but they explained it in such difficult to understand words that I could never break it down into how to apply it to my life.

What in the world does the phrase ”Establish your heart in Faith Righteousness“, mean?  Or, for that matter, what does it mean to become ”skillful in the words of righteousness“?  Or here’s the one that really went over my head.  What does it mean to be free from a “Sin Consciousness“ and to have a ”Righteousness Consciousness“.

Let’s be wise enough to go to God to find out what was being said.  Look what God said in Hebrews 10 & Hebrews 1.

For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. {Hebrews 10:1}

For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. {Hebrews 10:2}

Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
{Hebrews 1:3}

“Therefore, according to Hebrews 10:1-2, we should have no more sin consciousness.  Therein lies the area of problem.  We have been highly developed in sin consciousness and have done almost nothing to develop a righteousness consciousness.  Again, this is just not what most of us have been taught.

Sin Consciousness

What is a sin consciousness?  What is a righteousness consciousness?  A sin consciousness is thinking I'm going to fail based on something I did.  An attitude of defeat based on works of my righteousness.

A righteousness consciousness is thinking what I did is not pertinent to this, because it’s covered by the blood of Yahoshua.  A righteousness consciousness is saying that I'm going to have success because I am the righteousness of God.  By the way, righteousness does speak as shown in Romans 10:6, and this is what is called being “skillful in the word of righteousness”, (Hebrews 5:13).

I didn’t say that I hadn’t sinned, but that my sins are purged, {Colossians 2:13}.  Gone!  Kapooey!  The definition of prosperous means “to succeed in reaching”.  So, when John wrote “I pray that you might prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers”, {3 John 1:2}; he was saying something about like this as explained below.

Here’s an example.  I used to make money in the stock market.  But, time after time after time, I’d hear Yahweh tell me to buy a certain stock now, and I’d hesitate.  I get in a “Trust Knot”.  I want to see if the stock will go down further before I move.  But, just as Yahweh told me, instead of it going down, it goes up.  And often times I missed the wave altogether.  And Yahweh ends up telling me, “It’s too late, don’t buy it now, as the whole world can see it’s going up”.  I am called to be the head and not the tail, which in plain English in practical words means that I move first, and the world follows me, and as such means that I have to hear from God and then trust what I'm hearing.

Feeling Like I Am So Unworthy

But, I have failed in doing this trusting part.  So, I have often times beat myself up, realizing I just lost an opportunity to make money.  I get so down on myself over the fact that I have missed God once more, that I am then inept to hear God on the next play even though I can hear him saying, “That’s all right, I got several more opportunities for you to reap in money this afternoon”.  And then when I finally do make the next play, my confidence wanes, and the voices start.  Did I really hear from God?  This play has got to be dumb.  All the analysts are saying this company is about to fold.  Why didn’t I look up this data before I bought this stock?  Why can’t I be smarter, and so on.

I have found that because I focus on the missed opportunities, that this impairs my ability to do the next play right.  I was so consumed with my ability, and seeing my failures that I got into a “Sin Knot”, not realizing that I am not working in my ability and my righteousness.  Okay, back to the top.  A sin consciousness is thinking that something I did is going to cause me to fail.  I have been having a sin consciousness.  So what that I missed God on the last opportunity, and maybe even the last dozen!  My sins have been purged.  I am the righteousness of God.  What does that translate into meaning?  I have a right standing with God and can come into his presence anytime.  So what does that have to do with me winning and being a winner?   I have to tell the voices of the accuser that I am the Righteousness of God, and that according to Malachi 3:11 God will not allow my fruit to drop on the ground and rot.

Here’s an other example from the other side of the coin.  Yahweh told me once that that I have some faults that need changing, and that he was going to reveal them to me.  I could have gotten all bummed out about this.  But, the key to understanding God is to realize that God is not mad at me.  You might have to read over Isaiah 54:9 to really grasp this for yourself.

But since I know that God is not mad at me, then I never have to be concerned that God is going to change his mind, and even though he said that he would not be mad at me, (Isaiah 54:9), he really might be.  No, God promises that he will never be mad at me.  End of story.  So, if God wants to reveal to me some of my faults, it must be because God knows that I am capable of changing, and I can’t think of a better person to reveal my faults without criticism than God.  What a loving father, Abba God.

So, as the day progressed, I got an email from someone and it sort of pointed to a lack of omission on my part.  I could have defended myself, but I relaxed and said.  There might be some part of this that is true, and that’s when I heard Yahweh tell me that I have been neglecting my Mother.  There it was.  It was gentle, and followed the guidelines of James 3:17.  So, I immediately recognized that the was Yahweh, and I repented, (meaning to change my mind), and acknowledged that this was a fault, and made a determination to seek God from now on in regards to how I can not do this anymore.

But, at no point was I concerned that God was going to get mad at me.  I think that if I thought that God was going to get mad at me, then I would not have been so eager to have God correct me on the matter.  This is called a righteousness consciousness or conscience, or having my heart established in Faith Righteousness1 John 1:9 says that if I confess my sin, he is faithful and just to forgive my sins and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness.  Well, if I'm cleansed from all unrighteousness, then I'm righteous.  I am the righteousness of God.  I'm righteous, not because of my works, but because Yahweh’s word said so, and I trust that that is so, (this is called faith), regardless of my works.  This is where we get the term “Faith Righteousness”.

Establishing Your Heart in Faith Righteousness

If your heart is not established in faith righteousness, then you’ll not be able to succeed in reaching or to stay in the safe harbor.

In righteousness you shall be established; You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; And from terror, for it shall not come near you, {Isaiah 54:14}.

Here are some big sounding words again, {Romans 10:3}.  “Established” means “Forever”, “Everlasting”,  “Without End”, or “Permanent”.  I wish I could come up with some eternal fixture to illustrate what establish means.  But, all that I can come up with can be torn down.  The best that I can think of are the the carvings on Stone Mountain, or Mount Rushmore; or better yet, look how God told Abraham, “And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.”, {Genesis 17:7}.

A root system on a tree would explain it better.  When the sower sows the word, immediately the enemy comes to steal the word, {Mark 4:15}.  He wants to get to you before you dig down and acquire roots.  Matthew 13:19 expounds on this further stating that “the enemy will take away that which you don’t understand”.  This is why Yahoshua said in the next verses in Mark 4:24,  “Take Heed to what you hear”.  This will establish in you a root system or the “blessed assurance”.  Blessed assurance is that assurance, unqualified confidence in the righteousness of God, knowing that you have an empowerment of Yahweh’s Power for success.

Unless you have established, or convinced, or convicted your heart that you are righteous by faith and that you are not condemned, then when the opportunity comes to prosper or to be made whole, you’ll miss the mark, and fall short of the Glory that God wants to bless you with  We won’t have the confidence or that “blessed assurance” to trust in God, because we will be trusting in our own ability; or we’ll be trusting in another man’s ability, both of which are trusting in man’s ability.

Trusting in Man

Jeremiah 17:5-6 talks about this in the New International Version “that those that trust in man, will not see prosperity when it comes”:

Jeremiah 17

5 This is what Yahweh says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from Yahweh.

6 He will be like a bush in the wastelands; he will not see prosperity when it comes.  He will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives.

7 But blessed is the man who trusts in Yahweh, whose confidence is in him.

8 He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.  It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green.  It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

This is a really good picture of the man with a sin consciousness and a man with Righteousness Consciousness.  You get sick, who you gonna call?  The doctor or upon Yahweh.  Someone might say, woe is “me”, “I” am undone, for “I” am a man of unclean lips, (I, I, I)... or “How can I lose with His blood I use”.  You decide. (hint: I am made the righteousness of God) .  Jonathan’s son, Mephibosheth thought for sure that he was a “dead dog”.  He didn’t know about the blood covenant between his father and the king that made him in right standing with King David.   You can read the account at 2 Samuel 9:1-13.  It is a great account of how we have seen ourselves before God and his throne of Grace, compared to how God sees us.

We are a New Creation

    Let’s go to 2 Corinthians 5:17-18

17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

18Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Yahoshua, (the Messiah), and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,

Now, connect that with verse 21.

21He who knew no sin was made to be sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

Righteousness is not something that grows up and becomes.   It is a gift you received the moment you accepted Yahoshua as your Lord and Savior.

You cannot buy a Volkswagen and hope it will grow up and become a Cadillac.   One was made, or manufactured, a Volkswagen, and one was made, or manufactured, a Cadillac.

You were recreated in Christ Yahoshua—Made the righteousness of God.

I have been made the righteousness of God in Christ Yahoshua.  He was made sin with my sin, and I was made the righteousness of God with His righteousness.  Then, you might say, well you just brought God down to our level.  No, I didn’t do that.  God did that~!  You might say, “Well, you just exalted yourself up to Yahweh’s level.”  No, I didn’t do that either, I'm just reading what God wrote~!

2 Corinthians 5:21 ~

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

I just believed what God wrote.  God is for me, not against me.  I am supposed to prosper.  It should not come as a surprise when I prosper in health, and when I prosper in wealth.  I am already blessed.  I don’t have to put on a sad face and go before God and ask him in his tender mercy to be compassionate on me.  He already is.  I just have to receive it by faith.

Nor, do I have to beg God to give me the words to preach, when he has told me that me that Jeremiah 1:9applies to me.  God said that he will put His words in my mouth.  Now, I could get all “down in the mouth”, saying how I messed up this week, or recount what it seems like the devil won another victory in some area of my life, and I am so unworthy to be Yahweh’s messenger, and again beg God to be compassionate on me and give me a something to preach.

Or I could say, God I see in your word that you who began a good work in me, are faithful to complete it, (Philippians 1:6), and that you told me that you would put your words in my mouth, so I'm going open wide my mouth and let you fill it, Psalms 81:10.

Two Kinds of Righteousness ~ One is Self the other is Faith

Wouldn’t you like to have a righteousness that comes by faith rather than by what you can do, or works, or law?  As long as you think of yourself as unworthy, then you’re saying that based on your works, you don’t consider yourself righteous.  Well, this is not faith.  This is trusting in your abilities rather than what God finished at the cross 2000 years ago.

There are two kinds of righteousness.  One is your righteousness, and this is where Romans 3:10 says that there is none righteousness, no not one.  And as if Paul were on purpose trying to show us that there was a flip side to this coin, {Romans 3:10 ~ Romans 10:3}, he wrote in Romans 10:3, the following.

For they being ignorant of Yahweh’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.

However, going back to Romans 3, notice that in this same chapter Paul goes on to explain in Romans 3:21 that there is another righteousness, and this is the righteousness of God that comes by faith.  Faith is nothing more than believing what God wrote.  If God wrote that he that knew no sin was made sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him... Then I believe based on Yahweh’s word, {2 Corinthians 5:21}, that I am the righteousness of God in Him.  By the way, that in Him is referring to Yahoshua.  Was Yahoshua made sin for you?  Has this happened?  Then it also has happened that you are made the Righteousness of God, in Him.

Hebrews 11:7 ~ By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

Suppose that someone were to ask you, “Are you righteous?”, or “Are you as righteous as God”?  You might look at yourself and the numerous times that you’ve missed it.  You might recall one time when you watched a something you should not have watched, or the time that you got exceptionally angry, and you would say, “No, I'm not righteous at all”.

faith righteousness

It would seem odd, and really arrogant to call yourself righteous.  Well, you’d be partially correct.  Based on what even the top performer of righteous works, God says that even our righteousness is like filthy rags, (Isaiah 64:6).  So, you and the Scriptures agree on that point.  In ourselves we are unworthy, but we are not in ourselves anymore.  God loves me just as much as he loves Yahoshua, (John 17:23).

However, something happened on the cross.  There was an exchange program where Yahoshua not just took our sin upon himself, but became sin for us in order that we might be made the Righteousness of God.  In fact, Yahoshua goes on to tell us that the love God had for Yahoshua is now in us, (John 17:26).  So, with our righteousness we miss the mark.  But, now because of the shed blood of our Lord Yahoshua the Messiah, we are made the righteousness of God.

And although it sounds pretty prideful to say that I am the righteousness of God, it’s actually not.  It’s realizing that whether I feel like it or not, if God said that I am the righteousness of God, then I am the righteousness of God.  To still contend that you’re not worthy, and that you’re so unholy, and so forth; has pride as it’s motivating factor.  I guess you’re saying that your unworthiness is greater than Yahweh’s word, and this in itself is self-righteousness.

For they being ignorant of Yahweh’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.

To deny that you are righteous is to call God a liar, and is saying that you’re trusting more in what you’ve accomplished in the area of righteousness, (which even God has called filthy rags), stronger than Yahweh’s word of righteousness that you receive by faith.

Philippians 3:9

And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Grace

If I could talk about Abraham as pertaining to the flesh, and if Abraham was made the righteousness of God based on what he did, we could Glorify Abraham, but not God.  But the scripture says that Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.  Now, if someone worked all their life at a job, and on each payday got a paycheck, you wouldn’t call these paychecks a gracious gift from the company.  That’s because the company owes that man or woman the money for work rendered.  But, suppose that this same company helps out another man that does not work for this company and writes him out a check.  The company calls up this second man and all this man has to do is come get the check.  The only way that this man will not get the check is if he doesn’t come pick up the check.

Well, obviously he has to believe that there really is a check waiting for him, or he won’t show up to pick it up.  And he comes and picks up the check.  His faith in believing that there really was money for him paid off.  Maybe, he was so behind in debts that the creditor’s were about to cart him off to jail, but there was enough money from this company to pay off all debts that this man owed, and he gets the check and pays off all the people he owes money to.

This would be Grace, or a Gift.  This man’s faith has set him free.  He is now in right standing with his creditors.  He could have worked until he had paid off the debt, but he chose instead to trust that there was a free gift for him.

King David talked about such a man to whom God imputed righteousness without works, saying “Blessed are they whose inquiries are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.  Blessed is the man to whom Yahweh will not impute sin”, (Now, go read Romans 4:1-8)

Now, here’s the paradox.  If we got Yahweh’s righteousness in place of our own, then we can no longer say that we are unrighteous without implying that Yahweh’s word was not strong enough to work for us.  But, if you believe and welcome Yahweh’s word as true in your life, then accept that you are the Righteousness of God.  And since you are the Righteousness of God, even if you’re just a new “born again” believer.  I apologize if this is offends you, but anything less shows that you are still under the law, and under bondage trusting in what you can accomplish.

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth, (Romans 3:4)

Galatians 3:13-14

13Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

14That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Yahoshua, (the Messiah); that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

The Blessings of Abraham

We have got the Blessings of Abraham.  Read Romans 4 to find out what the blessing of Abraham is.  Aren’t you curious to know what is this gift that we got.

Read Romans 3 & Romans 4

So, how does this apply to your case in point?  Well, I’ve found that as I have confidence that I will prosper, or that I will succeed, not based on my abilities, and my sins.  As my mouth lines up with my heart, I prosper.  My soul is prospering.  And then I find that I have more tolerances for others.  Their sins are purged also, and I am more aware of that fact.

(This is a Righteousness Consciousness).

I Trust that God who began a good work in them, is faithful to complete it.  I find that knowing that I am the righteousness of God, causes me to relax, (I believe the big words that we hear this called are the “Peace of God”, or the “Gospel of Peace”, preaching “Peace”, {Ephesians 2:14-19}), and as I relax in God; then I get into his ability, (and we call this Grace), and not my own.  If we want to be gracious, then we must have grace.

You must have a Righteousness Consciousness, or believe that you’re on the winning team surrounded by winners who were made the Righteousness of God having all of our sins purged.  How can I lose with His blood I use.

Right Before Our Very Eyes... {Romans 3:21-23}

Be Honest...

Have you ever heard this passage of scripture before:

1) “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

Sure, you have...if you’ve been raised in a traditional church, it’s part of the Roman road...{Romans 3:23}

But, have you ever heard this passage of scripture before?

2) “But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,

The second scripture given precedes the first passage by only two verses!  In fact, it outlines the prerequisites for the second passage.  Here’s the verse in between the two above.

even the righteousness of God, through faith in Yahoshua, (the Messiah), to all and on all who believe.   For there is no difference,

In the original translation, there were no verse numbers, and so the part of Romans 3:22 and Romans 3:23 should have all been one sentence.

But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Yahoshua, (the Messiah), to all and on all who believe.   For there is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

This righteousness has been “revealed”, (NKJ), “made known”, (NIV), or it has been “manifested”, (KJV), in the earth.   This righteousness is now available.  {Romans 3:21-23}

Note that this righteousness is  “TO ALL AND ON ALL WHO BELIEVE”.   Of course that means each one of us.   But, this really is going to shed some light on the passage of scripture that we know so well in the next verse, for this was talking about a comparison between the “TO ALL AND ON ALL WHO BELIEVE” and the key phrase, “For, there is no difference”.  Now, see that the next word “For” in verse 23 is referring back to “there is no difference”.  This highlights the fact the righteousness of God is for TO ALL AND ON ALL WHO BELIEVE, for there is no difference, FOR ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.   In other words, this righteousness is apart from the law.

Can you see that there is a righteousness from God that is apart from the law, and this righteousness comes through faith to ALL WHO BELIEVE, for it makes no matter, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.  The very reason he said that we have the righteousness of God coming to us, because we have all sinned and fallen short of the Glory, (the view, the opinion) of God.  This has been called “Faith Righteousness”.

This is what Romans 3:23 was talking about, where it says that we all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God.  The word Glory used here is the Greek word, Doxa which means the “view or opinion”.  So we’ve fallen short of Yahweh’s view or opinion of us as the Righteousness of God.

We have been fooled.  Instead of thinking that we are so unworthy, {this is called having a Sin Consciousness}, we should realize that we are the Righteousness of God, {also called a Righteousness Consciousness}...  Here are more verses about the righteous of God.

Sin Nature

It’s exciting to know that we serve a God that makes us righteous.  And although, it’s been taught that we have two natures, a sin nature and a righteous nature; that’s not really the truth.  In fact, nowhere in the Scriptures can you find that once you’ve been saved that you have a sin nature.

We have to go back to the basics to understand this.  You are a Triune Being.  You are a Spirit.  You have a Soul, (your mind, will and emotions), and you live in a body, (1 Thessalonians 5:23).  The real you is the Spirit man, and we know that to be absent from the body is to be present with Yahweh.  So, your body is not you.  It’s the Flesh, it’s the “earth suit” that we wear while we’re here on this planet called earth.  But, your mind must stay with you, because when we read about the Rich man seeing Lazarus in Abraham’s bosom, he could still recall what had happened to him on earth, and his emotions might have still be intake also.  But, his will was void.  He still had a will, but not able to do anything with it.

We’ve probably been taught from someone older than us who was taught by someone older than them that we are body, soul and mind.  But, this is incorrect.  It is the traditions of men that make the Word of God of no effect.  Take a look now at the Word of God concerning us.

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Yahoshua, (the Messiah).  (1 Thessalonians 5:23)

The 'Traditions of Men' leave out the fact that You are a Spirit, and they put down the “mind” twice.  This also is not in the Scriptures.  I’ll show why this is important later on as the Soul is comprised of the Mind, Will & Emotions.

So, while you’re on this planet, you live in a body.  This body is the flesh, and the flesh wars against the spirit.  Before you were saved your spirit was dead, but once you accepted Yahoshua as Lord and Savior in your life, then your spirit was recreated and made alive unto God.

Romans 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Yahoshua, (the Messiah) our Lord.

Romans 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

You are now a new Creature~!
Take a look below at 2 Corinthians 5:19-21.

2 Corinthians 5

19that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

20We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

21God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

We Have a Righteous Nature

So, you are a new creature, and as such you have been made the righteousness of God.  So, therefore you do not have a sin nature any longer.  You have a righteousness nature.  But, why you might ask am I still tempted to sin.  Ah, I'm glad you asked.  Our spirit was born again, but our body has not been born again.  We still have a corruptible body, and our mind has not been born again either.  We are told to take up our cross and die daily to the desires of the body, (or flesh), and to renew our mind to Yahweh’s way of thinking, {Luke 9:23; Matthew 10:38; Matthew 16:24; Mark 8:34; Ephesians 4:22-24; Romans 12:1-2, Romans 8:13, Galatians 6:8}.

Here are two key words.  Confess & RepentConfess means to “say the same thing as God says”.  And Repent means only to “Change Your Mind”.  No sobbing, crying or weeping involved.  That’s remorse.  Repent means to change your mind.  So, once you see something in Yahweh’s word that you did not know before you REPENT, (“Change Your Mind”), and then believe what God wrote rather than what you thought.  This occurs in your Mind.  So, by doing this, you Renew your mind.  Let this mind be in you that was in Christ Yahoshua... And then as you renew your mind , then you will CONFESS, (to say the same thing about you that God says about you).  God says that you are made the Righteousness of God.  So, you find this in the Scriptures the order is we repent, then we believe it, and then we confess the same thing.

The scriptures tell us to make no provisions for the flesh.  We do not have a Sin Nature, but we do have a body that is made up of the flesh that wars against the spirit, and we are a spirit.  This is not just nomenclature, where one group is just saying the same thing but using different words.  No, no, no.  This is the key to understanding how to overcome.  As long as you think that you have a sin nature, then you’ll think that’s just the way I am.  It’s my nature, and you will be duped into believing that you are powerless to overcome this problem.

Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary the one to the other, that you may not do the things that you desire.

But, once you realize that you are a spirit, and that spirit once saved is recreated and is the righteousness of God, and that we are to crucify the flesh, and renew our mind, you will awake to righteousness and sin not!  I mean once you can come to grips with the fact that Flip Wilson was wrong, the devil did not make you do it.  It’s your flesh that wants to eat that large extra cheese pizza, or to stay up late and watch just one more show, now you can deal with it.

You can check with God about your decisions, and God might not mind, or He might have a suggestion to take it in smaller doses, or to record it nor not watch it at all.  How often, I’ve stayed up too late, and that led to be exposed to something I should not have seen, and the temptations that follow.  Yahoshua said to as many as overcome to them, he would give to eat of the tree of life, (Revelation 2:7).  Sometimes, the key to overcoming is just to simply go to bed when Yahweh tells you to, and having the fiery darts of the devil miss you altogether.

Feeling Accepted

It’s hard to forgive someone, when you feel like you’re under the gun... But, when you feel forgiven, then it’s easy to forgive and give grace to others.

Have you ever watched the movie called “Down Periscope” with Kelsey Grammer as the Commander of an old rusty submarine?  If so, do you recall the moment that the dive officer had to direct the two helmsmen in between the propellers of a large cargo ship?  These two helmsmen known as Jackson and Spots had been arguing with each other the whole voyage, until this point.  After successfully guiding the sub through the propellers, Kelsey as Commander applauds the dive officer for a job well done.  He then turns and says to the two helmsmen, and says that goes for you too Jackson and Spots.

Well, a remarkable thing happens to these two guys, who other- wise would be going at each other.  They become friends, and apologize to each other.  Why is this?  I think that when we feel accepted and in right standing with someone in charge, that we relax and feel good about ourselves, and this allows us to have grace towards our fellow man.  It’s hard to forgive someone, when you feel like you’re under the gun... But, when you feel forgiven, then it’s easy to forgive and give grace to others.

This is how God feels about us, and this is how we ought to respond to Yahweh’s love.  God is not mad at us, (Isaiah 54:9).  This is what righteousness is all about.  You can be at peace with God.  Once we accept Yahoshua into our hearts, we are cleansed from all unrighteousness, but often later on we somehow feel that we must obtain a right standing with God based on performance, and we get into our own righteousness.

But, the Peace of God that passes all understanding, comes by faith just accepting that you are the righteousness of God.  You are in right standing with God.  Have you entered into that rest, or are you striving, but never arriving.  Faith Righteousness.  God said that I am righteous, and I trust His words of life, and therefore I am righteous.  And because I am accepted in the beloved, (Ephesians 1:6), then I am at peace with my fellow man.

I am the Righteousness of God

It’s not just that I believe that God heals.  It’s more so that I have found that I am the righteousness of God and sickness does not have a right to be on me.  The Scriptures calls those not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness, babes who live on milk.  (Hebrews 5:13~ NIV)

Our part is to resist the devil, and then the Word says the devil will have to flee, (James 4:7). Recall how Yahoshua went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed by the devil, (Acts 10:38); ...healing all who were under the power of the devil.  In other scriptures, we find that Yahoshua healed them all, on more than one occasion. If Yahoshua healed them all, and healed all who were under the power of the devil... Then sickness, or cancer, or whatever is not from God!

Our part is to resist sin, sickness, or disease, and to take thoughts captive subject to the obedience of Christ.  The battle is in our minds as we renew our minds to the mind of Christ, and then our bodies become as if they were born again just like our spirit, {Romans 8:10-11; Romans 12:1-2}.  This is why it is important to know that You are a Spirit.  You have a Soul, (your mind, will and emotions), and You live in a body, in that order.  I am the righteousness of God, I renew my mind to the mind of Christ, and therefore my body has to line up with who I am, and not the other way around.

But, one word of caution. You cannot stand on another man’s revelation.  If you are just standing, make sure that you have a word of God that you’re standing in faith on.  A word that was brought to light, so that whenever the enemy comes to you, you can say, “Now that’s not right according to such-n-such word of God where it is written... 'I am the righteousness of God, and I am ordered to resist you.  I resist the urge to yield to this temptation to allow myself to think that I am not whole.'”  I don’t blame God or ask why he has allowed this.  However, I do go to God, and ask is there some area in my life where I have allowed this, such as not walking in love, or in not forgiving someone.”

Killing the Sacred Cow

Have you noticed that all of the above I have seldom, if at all, repeated any scripture verses, (I will repeat some below on purpose today).  I am overwhelmed by how many verses there are in the Scriptures that talk about our righteousness.  Like just this morning I was merely skimming through the Scriptures on my way to another passage when Romans 1:17 just popped up ~ “For therein is revealed a righteousness of God from faith unto faith: as it is written, But the righteous shall live by faith.”

There it is once more.  As I began to pray over the fact that I have asked God for permission to bust this demonic stronghold of religious belief right where he has impacted the most damage, in the church, I ran across this passage from Paul saying almost the same thing.

Romans 9:30-33
What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness of faith; but Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, has not attained to the law of righteousness.  Why? Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were, by the works of the law.  For they stumbled at that stumbling stone.  As it is written: “Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense, And whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

Romans 10:1-4
Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel* is that they may be saved.  For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.  For they being ignorant of Yahweh’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.  For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

I am reminded of how one comes to know Christ.

Romans 10:9-10
But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”  (that is, the word of faith which we preach):  that if you confess with your mouth Yahweh Yahoshua and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

We Receive the Righteousness of God by Faith

I kept thinking along these lines.  If we get saved by believing that God raised Yahoshua from the dead and then confessing with our mouth that Yahoshua is Lord, and yet we still think that we have to obtain some form of righteousness on our own, then we’re missing step one!  We really never believed that Yahoshua rose from the dead.  Maybe we do believe God raised Yahoshua from the dead, but we don’t really believe that “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the RIGHTEOUSNESS of God in him”, if you still believe that you’re unworthy.  So, you make his death, burial and resurrection of no effect.

I mean if we were to stand before God and he asked us why should he allow us to come into heaven, and our answer is not because “By the blood of your son who cleansed me from all unrighteousness, therefore I am the righteousness of God in Christ”, then you’re not going to get in.  If your response is “I am so unworthy”, when he calls you worthy, then you have just committed the unpardonable sin.  You have rejected his pardon.

Hebrews 10:28-29
Anyone who has rejected Moses' law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?

What You Say Determines Your Fate

God has empowered us to call things into being by our voice.  And if we call in with our mouths such as “We are not worthy”, then you’ll have what you say, but you won’t like it.  The sin that is being referred to above in Hebrews 10:28-29 is that your words have been stout against Him.  Look at the previous verses.

Hebrews 10:22-23
Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.  Let us hold fast the CONFESSION, {to say with your mouth}, of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

For you to stand up before God, if you have made Yahoshua, (the Messiah) of Nazareth Yahweh of your life, he has made you his righteous; and for you to stand up and say “Hoe, I'm just so unworthy, I'm just so no good, oh, I'm just a worm in the dirt, I just, ohhh, I just don’t deserve any of your blessings, Lord. blah, blah, blah.”

That borders so close to blaspheming the Holy Ghost, it isn’t even funny, and I’ll tell you this right now, that to talk this way is a sin.  And Hebrews 10 says that.  We’ve concentrated so much on our obtaining righteousness by our works, that we missed what is an unpardonable sin.

It’s not so much, oh, oh we’ve, we’ve done an unpardonable thing, and.  But, How can you pardon something when you’ve rejected the very thing that’ll get you out?  You’ve reject your pardon.  How you going to get pardoned?  You’ve reject your pardon.

Your confession ought to be, “I am made the righteousness of God in Christ”, and that’s all!  Many of those whom I love might not go to heaven.  They will say, but we did this and did that, and God will reply, “I don’t know you”.

What shall we say then?  That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness of faith; but my friends and family, pursuing the law of righteousness, have not attained to the law of righteousness.  Why?  Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were, by the works of the law.  For they stumbled at that stumbling stone.  As it is written: “Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense, And whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. (Romans 10:4)

Will you stumble and fall at the fact that you have to receive that you are the righteousness of God in Christ by faith?   And then confess with your mouth you are the righteousness of God in Christ.  My prayer of faith today is that God is restoring your soul, {your mind, will & emotions}, and is leading you in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake, {Psalms 23:3}.

Colossians 1:12

12Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.  13He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins

The Free Gift of Righteousness

“For if because of one man’s trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive [Yahweh’s] overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness [putting them into right standing with Himself] reign as kings in life through the one Man Yahoshua, (the Messiah) (the Messiah, the Anointed One).”  {Romans 5:17 ~ Amplified Bible}.

Scriptural Backup ~ This stuff is so opposite to the way we’ve been taught that I putting in more scripture here on this web site than I might normally have, because You shall know the truth and truth shall set you free, (John 8:32).
