The historical writings of the Bible reveal God as a God of mercy. His love is best revealed in the gift of His Son. What do we mean when we say the the Bible is "An Inspired Book"? By "Inspired" we mean that the prophets and apostles, in what they said and wrote, were guided by the Holy Spirit in a manner higher than that of any men of their times. This book contains the mind of God. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true. It contains light to direct you, food to support you and comfort to cheer you. It is the travelers map, the pilgrim's staff, the pilots compass, the soldier's sword and the Christian's charter. Christ is it's grand subject. Heed it slowly, frequently, prayerfully.
