O soul, why do you worry
Why do you shrink back in fear
My heart, do not be troubled
for Jesus is always near.
O soul, why do you languish in pain
Why do you carry such grief
Instead be content in all things
For in Jesus you will have relief.
As children of God, we have a steadfast hope, an assurance that all is going to be ok because Jesus is always with us. Trials will come and go. Temptations may be close at hand. Sorrows sometimes prevail and persecutions many times raise their ugliness against us; but what have we to fear, to dread? Jesus is with us. Almighty God never leaves His people.
What an awesome commitment! God has promised that He will not give up on us. He will never let go of us. His hold on us will not relax. His loving hold is forever and ever. God never lets go of us!
Jesus promised to send a helper, the Comforter who is the Holy Spirit of God that He might abide with us forever. "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you" (John 14:26 KJV). Again in John 14:16 we hear Jesus say, "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever."
We can rest in assurance that God will never withdraw His presence nor His help from His children. He will never leave us - just as He said, "I will never leave thee or forsake thee." We may be content with all that we have and all that touches our lives because we know that God is able and will turn all things into our good. Our heavenly Father never gives up on us. No matter where we are, where we have been, or what we are doing, God is with us. His grip on us is forever. He will not desert us.
Sisters in Jesus, God is committed to us. We have nothing to fear or dread because He has promised to never leave us or forsake us. We may lie down in green pastures because the Shepherd of the flock is near to watch over, protect, and guide us. We can rest inside the still waters of His love.
Psalms Ps 139:1-11 (KJV)
"O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it. Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me."
As each new day breaks forth, know that God is forever with you and is always working for your benefit. Believe that He is in control and will always care for you. Understand that you are loved with an everlasting love that holds a commitment that nothing can break. Step out in faith today. Simply trust HIM in all things whether your life is being touched by goodness or evil. God cannot fail. He will prevail. He will work for your best!
