After I was saved I had such a hunger for God's Word I could not get enough of it. I was starved in my spirit all those early years. God showed me all the things He wanted for me in, His Word The Bible. I went to every meeting and Bible study I could. God gave me a thirst and hunger for Him. Thank God He Gives The Living Water and The Bread of Life, Our Lord Jesus!
I have to admit it was not easy at first, telling my family, friends and others how Jesus LOVED and DIED to SAVE me but, after my first public confession it just came out automatically. NOW I KNEW WHAT IT WAS LIKE TO BE BORN AGAIN, Gone were my old friends and I received family scorn. No longer was I of this world, so they no longer knew me, because they did not know HIM who LIVES in me. I had new LOVE and did not desire the old things of this world.
Jesus gave me a new family and friends better then the former. ALL THINGS BECOME NEW. Soon JESUS gave me a Teen Sunday School Class through HIM I was able to witness about my teen life and helped counsel them in certain areas.
I used to ask God why I went through some negative things in my life. Jesus has shown me this: HOW CAN YOU COUNSEL A BROKEN HEART IF YOU HAVE NEVER HAD ONE? Now I thank Him, that He can take the bad and make it good for His Glory.
I started to listen to New Christian Music Like Dallas Holm, John Michael Talbot and the like. We used to do what you call open air meetings at The Salvation Army we would have a service on street corners. One day while the pastor was away he asked me to hold one, I put a tape in by John Michael Talbot called "Prepare Ye The Way Of The Lord". all of a sudden the pastor's daughter tore the tape out of the tape deck and started yelling at me saying that music is from the devil. I should be playing "Bringing In The Sheaves" and music like that, boy was I red faced, people were looking at the all the ruckus.
THAT WAS MY FIRST TASTE OF LEGALISM. Music was created by God, the devil will make some evil, BUT CAN satans music bring GLORY to GOD? Praise God For Our New Christian Artists! They do not sing of satans glory, They sing of GOD THE FATHER, GOD THE SON and GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT'S glory.

One night while I was attending school for my G.E.D., I was approached by one of my classmates. She told me she had seen the bumper stickers on my automobile which said PRAISE THE LORD and HONK IF YOU LOVE JESUS and she was looking for a place to go to worship. She had just moved into our city. I told her that the pastor of The Salvation Army were I go preached a good message and invited her to service. That Sunday she attended the service and after service she ask me how I was saved. I told her of the man in prison I had met that got me interested into the Love of JESUS (same story I told earlier in this letter) She asked me if I knew the man's names I told her all I remember was Whitey or something like that. She told me she knew the man personally and his name was Richard "Whiti" Gates. Well that about blew my mind! Here was a women new in the area and she picks me, asking where to fellowship,and she comes to fellowship, and she knows the guy at the prison. She could of asked others in our city of 30,000 where to go to church , but she asks me. I call things like that GOD INSTANCE now.

Well me and Sister Jo Teske became real good Christian friends. This women had the same glow as the guy in prison. One day she asked me if I had been baptized in THE HOLY SPIRIT I told her I believe, I had when Jesus came into my life. She asked me if I had the gifts of the Spirit then she showed me in the book of ACTS, how on the day of Pentecost The believers received THE HOLY SPIRIT They spoke with tongues and received other gifts.She told me I was only running on Half a tank of gas and I needed to get Filled with the HOLY SPIRIT.

I believed at the time if God wanted me to speak in French or German without any knowledge of it I could. But what about these other tongues (Tongues Of Angels) 1 Cor.13:1(Unknown Tongues) 1 Cor.14? I also thank GOD that I never take anyones word about scripture. I prayed to JESUS and asked Him the truth about Tongues and said SHOW ME LORD IF THIS IS FROM YOU. Your Word says to ask for the truth. I Have learned HE will show us the truth when we ask in prayer.
GUESS WHAT? The next Sunday while I was praying trying to tell God how much I loved HIM. I just could not find the right words or feelings to express my love for HIM, all of a sudden out of my innermost being came an unknown tongue. I clamped my hand over my mouth to stop. They do not believe in speaking in tongues at The Salvation Army. Then I said OK LORD I BELIEVE. I dropped the issue and did not speak in tongues.
I still was not baptized in THE HOLY SPIRIT, I only had a Taste.

About three months later I was invited to a prayer meeting by Sister Teske. She told me that a man of God was going to be there. The prayer meeting was held at a Christian bookstore, on Wall Street, at Auburn, NY. I arrived late for the meeting. When I went inside the place was full of people, now this store was about 14 feet wide by 40 feet long, very narrow. The only seat left was way in the back next to the wall.
This man of God starts teaching about gifts of THE HOLY SPIRIT. After the teaching this man starts to pray for different people . All of a sudden people start falling on the floor and speaking in tongues. I said to myself "I am getting out of here these people are crazy, this must be one of those cults". I arose from my chair (way in the back) and started for the front door. I just could not get out of there fast enough.
Well I made it about 3/4th of the way out, when this man who was praying and laying hands on these crazy people is some how standing in front of me. I looked into his eyes and could not look away, there was something in those eyes that I needed, but did not know yet what it was.
He took me gently by the hands and said,"The Lord Told Me You Need THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT" then he asks if I would like to receive the gift. He told me if I asked God and believed, I could have THE COMFORTER IN ME. I told him if it was from GOD I wanted all HE has to give.

This man lays hands on me and all of a sudden all I could see was a brilliant light and I felt like I was thrown up into the air so fast it took my breath away. I felt so full of pure love . I wish there were words to describe the feeling. I started to cry with joy and I could not stop praising GOD. The gift of tongues came out. Next thing I felt myself laying on my back and I can't move my arms or legs only my head from side to side. I opened my eyes to get up and tell someone to get off of me. When I opened my eyes no one was holding me down!! All I could see was this man smiling and he says just lay there and close your eyes and let THE HOLY SPIRIT work. THE HOLY SPIRIT was doing a house cleaning and he was moving in. The man's name is Jack Moore from Canadaigua, NY. OH! HOW I THANK YOU LORD JESUS FOR THAT DAY.

When I arose I felt like I was drunk on alcohol. I just kept laughing and praising THE LORD.That was I night I will never forget. Soon I was learning to be led by THE SPIRIT and listening to HIS voice.

About a week after the meeting I was driving home from work and this voice tells me to go to my sister's house. I was working in Phelps, NY and lived in Auburn and to go to my sister's house was about a 25 mile round trip out of my way.First thing I start thinking is, that's out of my way. But the voice said go, so I went. When I pulled into the drive way she was standing there with my nephew, she was crying and my nephew face was all blood. I told them to get into my car and I drove them to the hospital were he received stitches. God knew that she needed a ride to the hospital and there was no one around to take them. Another thing my nephew did not cut his head until 3 minutes before I arrived and it had taken me 20 minutes to get there. Well that about blew my mind and my sister's when I told her.
Before they call, I will answer!" Isa 65:24"

About two months latter on a very cold New York Sunday I awoke to find that the water pipes had frozen again for the second time in a week.The first time I had to get a torch and heat the pipes to thaw them out, plus I had to replace the water meter that was busted from the ice, it took about 2 hours to complete the job. I lived in an upstairs apartment and the reason they were freezing was because there was not any heat in the basement. I cried to the Lord and said I do not know what to do, I have to teach Sunday school in an hour and I need to shower and shave.
All of a sudden here comes the voice again and it says "Go over to the sink turn on the faucet and blow into it. I stated to doubt the voice and was thinking about all the trouble I had a few days before. Logic was telling me that the only way to fix frozen pipes was the torch. Voice comes again and says same thing. Guess What? When I blew my breath into the faucet the water came running out. Another Miracle!

More Miracles

I was working for a electronics firm and one day a new girl was hired and it was my job to train her. She had seen that I had some posters on my wall about Jesus. She asked if I was a Christian and I told her yes. Then I ask her if she was a Christian and then asked if she attended church. She told me no for both questions. That was the whole conversation and nothing else was said about God, Jesus or religion.

That afternoon I was asked to report to the owners office, when I reported, before I even closed the door he started to yell and scream at me that saying that I would have to stop telling people about Jesus or I would have to find work elsewhere.

I tried to explain that I was not bothering the new girl and that she started the conversation about me being a Christian and I had asked her if she was a Christian and that was all, I said to her.

He told me that under no circumstances was I do talk about God or Jesus again or I was fired. I waxed bold and told him that I will talk about Jesus when some one asks me about Jesus and I will never stop as far as the job I quit. I had been at that time working there 4 years.

That night I was praying to the Lord about my job and should I go back and ask for to get my job back. He told me no, that he would supply all my needs. I trusted Him at His word.

He told me that I would start my own business. At the time the only assets I had was a Ford van and One hammer and the only money left was for one months rent and groceries.
That Sunday while I was at church, I asked a Christian brother named Don Reed if he wanted to go into the roofing business, he said yes but we needed to get some money to start the business. I shared with him how the Lord told me to start a business and that The Lord will provide.

Next day as I was driving down town, The Lord told me to stop at a real-estate office and ask the owner if he had any houses that needed repair. He told me that he owned a building that housed a pharmacy and the roof was leaking and it needed repair. He asked me if I would go look at the roof and give him an cost estimate on the repairs. I went and pick up Don and we looked at the roof and found out what the problem was with the leaking and then we gave him the price to repair the roof.
He was shocked about the price and asked how we could do the job so cheap everyone else wanted between $2,000 to $3,000 to fix the roof. We had bid $600. I told him it did not need a new roof only needed a coating of tar and some metal screws replaced. He said we had the job and asked when can we start. We told him we would repair it the next day. We agreed to $300 down and the balance to be paid upon completion.
Don and I went down that day, and registered a D.B.A. at the county building and bought insurance for our new business called "D and D Roofing.
The repair on the roof only took 1 hour so we made $600 for our first hour of work. Another Miracle.
A week later a Christian sister asked if we knew how to do siding and we told her yes. We bid on the job and she said we could do it. She went to the bank and they approved the loan, but we would have to start the job before they gave us any money down. We prayed to the Lord asking how can we start the job when we havn't the money to buy materials to start the project.
The Lord spoke and said go ask the real-estate man for a loan. Lord I cried how can I ask that man for $1,000, I have only done one job for him and he really does not know me, no one will give $1,000 to some one they do not really know. I went and asked with much fear and trembling. I did not expect that the answer was going to be yes.
He looked at me and said, he did not know why he was going to lend me the money and that he has never done that kind of thing. But for some reason he trusted me. He called the building supply and told them to put any material we needed on his charge.
Another Miracle From God!
Jesus was blessing the business right and left all kinds of work came in. Every morning before we went to work Don and I would ask that The Lord would Bless and show us His will for that day. We ran the business as Jesus would have us being an example of Him in works and deeds. As long as Jesus was in charge everything was O K.

Sunday Jan. 16, 2000
Today as I was working with my computer it crashed and I had to run a scan to fix the problem.. When I was running the program called scan disc The Holy Spirit started to talk to me and reveal a teaching. He spoke and said, " When was the last time you let me run a scan disc on you?" I said, "Lord you know". As I type this he is running a scan on me and telling me I need to do a scan daily. Oh how I praise His name for reminding me that when I think things are working fine in my system, it can crash. It happens suddenly when we forget to do a scan on our lives daily. Last week someone hacked my web page and destroyed all my files I had up loaded. Thank God I had a backup to fix the problem.. The fault was mine I did not change the password and that's how it was hacked.. The teaching I am getting is we need to change our password so the devil can not hack our lives. Thank God we have Jesus who is the best back up when we are hacked and we have The Holy Spirit to run a scan disc on our lives and fix the corrupt files.
