For over twenty years Woodgrove Christian Community has been a warm and joyful fellowship of people deeply committed to pursuing a compelling life with God through faith in Jesus Christ. It's an unusually supportive and encouraging congregation, making it easy for people to find ways to give expression in service and worship to God. People who've felt broken or overwhelmed find it to be a place of spiritual refreshment and healing that makes faith in God personal and practical.
Woodgrove Christian Community formed in the Woodgrove neighbourhood of Nanaimo in1989 as a congregation of the Reformed Church in America, Synod of Canada. You can easily find out more about the RCA and it's approach to Christian faith on the web.
We're committed to classical Christian faith, solidly based in the scripture. Our "Reformed" tradition means that our approach to specific beliefs traces its roots to the period in the 16th and 17th centuries when the church throughout Europe deeply re-examined its beliefs and practices, giving a fresh priority to the graciousness of God, the significance of faith in Jesus Christ, and the way the scriptures of the Bible form our beliefs and practices.
While we're "Reformed", people from all kinds of backgrounds and denominations are part of our fellowship - nobody ever has to feel like an outsider here! The most important thing to us is to provide fellowship, worship, and ministry for anyone who's seeking God and following Jesus in faith.
