My Special Friend

Do you have a special friend
Who's always there for you
Who helps you through your troubles
No matter what you do

I'm talking 'bout the kind of friend
Who will not turn away
Just because he disagrees
With what you do or say

The kind of friend that you can trust
For all eternity
A friend who'd freely give His life
Just to set you free

Is this a silly question
I believe it's not
You see, a special friend like that
Is really what I've got

He's a friend who holds my hand
Even when I'm wrong
No matter what my troubles are
He always comes along

With Him I have no need to fear
Whatever I must face
He always leads me from the fire
Into a peaceful place

Sometimes I disappoint Him
With the foolish things I do
But He will not forsake me
Or tell me we are through

He puts no conditions
On His undying love
He lights my path to heaven
To my Father up above

It's time for you to meet my friend
You see, this is no game
He owns the key to death and hell
And Jesus is His name

He's my Lord and Savior
And I can tell you true
Everything He's done for me
He wants to do for you

Time is of the essence
For there's no guarantee
Of any more tomorrows
For Him to set you free

The time has come for you to act
To bow before His throne
To ask Him for forgiveness
To count you as His own

Count it as a promise
That you'll never be the same
Once you have confessed your sin
And called upon His name

He will claim you for His own
He'll wash you white as snow
And He'll always hold your hand
No matter where you go

He'll take you to that peaceful place
Where the waters are so still
You'll begin to change your life
And do the Father's will

Thank You Lord
