“Behold, all souls are Mine; The soul of the father As well as the soul of the son is Mine" Ez18:4

"O my people listen! For I am your God. Listen! Here are my charges against you: I have no complaint about the sacrifices you bring to my altar, for you bring them regularly. But it isn’t sacrificial bullocks and goats that I really want from you. For all the animals of field and forest are mine! The cattle on a thousand hills! And all the birds upon the mountains! If I were hungry, I would not mention it to you—for all the world is mine and everything in it. No, I don’t need your sacrifices of flesh and blood. What I want from you is your true thanks; I want your promises fulfilled. I want you to trust me in your times of trouble, so I can rescue you and you can give me glory."      Ps50:7-15

"we are His workmanship created for good works which he planned for us before hand, that we should walk in them."  -Paul

God is the creator of everything: through Him everything was made, in heaven and earth, invisible or visible, whether thrones or dominions, principalities or powers all things where created through Him and for Him, and in Him all things consist! ALL THINGS WERE CREATED THROUGH HIM AND FOR HIM, Oh that this could penetrate our thick wall of stupidity.
We live like the world revolves around us and act as if the most important thing in life is to feel good and do what we feeling like doing. We seek independences, health and happiness, and are irate with the s.o.bs that get in our way. WOE to us! Yet, everything we have is His; we will soon stand before Him who created us to do His will and to do work for His good pleasure.

We rarely do His will, for it often means dying to self; sometimes it even can bring (Lord forbid!) pain, sorrow, rejection and persecution. No wonder we rather remain hearers of the word and not doers! Yet we still think ourselves 'good'! Yet may I ask: are we doing all thing through faith? Do we even even have a clue what the beep this means? What if sins done in ignorance are still sin? That could put us into some deep crap, cause there are a lot of laws out there. Oh and may I add, God considers sins of omission to be as bad as breaking doing bad stuff. In light of this, are we praying always, giving thanks in all things, rejoicing in all things; doing everything in love and never giving thought about ourselves but only how you can please God and serve others? Nevertheless, we still think ourselves as fairly good people. We're fools to the core I suppose.

I sometimes wonder whats the use of sharing all this. To be changed by the reality that all we have, including our time and energy belongs to God, it must be written on our hearts. Otherwise, the following will only sound like condemnation from the pit of hell. I have yet to learn how to cut open my head and pull out knowledge and then do open heart surgery and implant the truth within it. Therefore, it must be God's doing, yet this being no comfort, for when it comes to God applying His truth within our hearts, He is extremely mysterious in his timing. I am frustrated by this, nevertheless, I still think it is good to know some of these truths, for what if He does choose to write them on hearts? This would make us more like Christ. Therefore, in hopes that God might be give grace, I share the following.

We are Stewards

“'Give an account of your stewardship, for you can no longer be steward' One important design of the parable of which the text is a part, is to teach that all men are God's stewards. The Bible declares that the silver and the gold are his, and that he is, in the highest possible sense, the proprietor of the universe. Men are mere stewards, employed by him for the transaction of his business, and required to do all they do for his glory. Even their eating and drinking are to be done for his glory, i.e. that they may be strengthened for the best performance of his business.  That men are God's stewards, is evident from the fact that God treats them as such, and removes them at his pleasure, and disposes of the property in their hands, which he could not do, did he not consider them merely his agents, and not the owners of the property." –C. G. Finny

God made him for this purpose, everything we have is God’s that includes money, time, food, yea, even the air we breath; nothing belong to us; in one sense we own nothing! If we consider we have full rights over those things we own,  we living like a thief. Indeed we need to give our rights to God, but have we thought how to give them to God,  means we have already stolen them from Him? It’s like stealing money out of the offering box, and then giving some of the money we stole back into the missions offering, thinking we are doing something great.

In the bible we see that we all must give an account of their stewardship, this meaning that we are His stewards. If we must give an account, I think it would be good for us to know what our full time occupation is and what our employer expects of us. Ignorance is not bliss on judgment day!

What Is A Steward?

A steward is one who is employed to transact the business of another, as his agent or representative in the business in which he is employed.  His duty is to promote, in the best possible manner, the interest of his employer. He is liable, at any time, to be called to an account for the manner in which he has transacted his business, and to be removed from his office at the pleasure of his employer. -C.G. Finny

"So the men took that present and Benjamin, and they took double money in their hand, and arose and went down to Egypt; and they stood before Joseph. When Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the steward of his house, “Take these men to my home, and slaughter an animal and make ready; for these men will dine with me at noon.” Then the man did as Joseph ordered, and the man brought the men into Joseph’s house…. And he commanded the steward of his house, saying, “Fill the men’s sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put each man’s money in the mouth of his sack. Also put my cup, the silver cup, in the mouth of the sack of the youngest, and his grain money.” So he did according to the word that Joseph had spoken." Gen 44:15-45:2-

If men are God's stewards, they must give an account to him for how they spend their time. Imagine if you hired a man to build your house, and you supply the materials and pay him for his time. The expectation you would have is that this man will build your house. Yet, what if every time you stopped by during working hours, you saw him sitting under a shade tree with a beer, listening to the radio? Would this not cause you to start to wonder?  Yet suppose you should come one day and find man using the lumber that was meant for your house, as firewood and is roasting hot-dogs and marshmallows over the open flame. Would you not be fuming and enraged?

If indeed you consider yourself a Christian, did you know what you were getting yourself into? My dear friend, God's free gift was that He would hire a wretch like you, but did you know that salvation is like getting a new job? And with a carrier comes responsibilities? Indeed God employed us to make discipled of all nation, and to use all your money and possession to advance His purposes; to devote ourselves to prayer and the understanding of His Word; to visit orphans and widows; to give all we have to the poor and to keep ourselves from sin. Yet, are we just sitting idle? During 'working hours', are we using our time watching TV, playing video games, surfing the net and pursuing your own interest? We may think we have the right to relax and go to movies and do whatever you feel like. Umm... opps... yeah, we don't have any rights.

Everywhere we go we are to be salt and light and to love like our Master, showing kindness and serving others, preferring them before ourselves, thus placing their interest and needs before our own.
We are to respect those in authority, and obey them cheerfully, and work hard even when they are not around. During our times of solitude we are to be diligent in prayer and the study of his Word.

Are we living in idleness? Do we not know that we are on God's time right now and will be held responsible for how we spend every moment of our day? Do we not know that the talents, possessions and money He has entrusted us with is to be used for His purposes? Do you think God likes any more when we use them for our own selfish reason, then you would feel is a contractor was using your lumber as fire wood to cook his hot-dogs? Ponder for a moment how my dad would feel, if after giving me the money  me to go to Wal-Mart and buy a good weed-eater, I bought a new play-station 2 with his money? We need to understand that God entrust us with stuff for a purpose, not to do anything we like with it.

May the Lord have mercy on us, I am as guilty as they come; slothfulness is in my blood slowing me down to a slither, most of my life has been spent, trying to solve the mystery of what I feel like doing, because I utterly refuse to do anything I do not feel like doing. All I know is its utterly impossible to live like my time is His without supernatural grace. For I could not remember this lesson to save my life and I am the one who taught it; Indeed experience tells me that I will forget all I just wrote in a matter of hours, it will all get lost among the mess of papers in my mind. It ticks me off to be honest, yet maybe someday I will write something like this and the conviction will not just bounce off of me like a dull dart, but instead stick and sink in and change who I am. I hope this happens for you as well. Amen.
