"Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud."

Humility

The Creator and King of the universe came to earth,

He left gates of pearl and He was born on dirt.

He had a throne with all authority to rule,

But He on earth was scorned as a fool.

To the untrained soul it appears that He had failed,

Because what could a helpless baby do if nailed.

There was a constant plot to take His life,

He did not defend Himself or carry a knife.

He slipped away often to say a prayer,

And who really knows if He had long hair.

He walked dusty roads to carry His Word,

He healed the sick that had not heard.

Lonely and rejected by the crowd,

For His blood they screamed out loud.

He never owned a house or a car,

Never did He drink at the local bar.

But the leper could come close to Him,

And He could turn water into wine on a whim.

Although He suffered for the sins of every man,

When He was carrying the cross He could not stand.

He was beaten with whips until He bled,

There were few people believe what He said.

Willingly He stood the shame of our guilt,

And in the face of Satan He did not wilt.

This is just a few of the things about this humble Man,

Jesus is His name; He has the eternal plan!
