The Sense Of Love

Lost in a corner, silent and hidden
unmercifully locked up in a cage
in the hands of neglect and abuse
with no will to find his way.

The first year of his precious life
he had no strength or way to reach out;
But then he was taken away from his world
and now learning what love is about.

A baby born through circumstances
Too sinful to even speak of.
I looked into his beautiful blue eyes
and knew I was so in love.

Oh God, you know he is innocent
struggling each step of the way
and doesn't even think he's different
as he faces each waking day.

Now he's absorbing affection and touch
as it transposes the will to live.
He's a teacher of acceptance and unconditional love;
so much to others he gives.

From deep in my soul I beg of you God
As I bring him to the foot of your throne
let him walk in the sun, run in the rain
and have the love he will always call home.
