The airliners that were hijacked were American planes, and their targets were American lives and buildings, but the fact remains that this was a global tragedy with innocent victims from all over the world killed and injured.

Globally, families sit down to their evening meal with an empty place at their table - a loved one was killed in America. Children go to bed without a parent to tuck them in. People remember the last time they heard "I love you" from a voice now silenced forever.

We have called this an American tragedy, but as these cowardly terrorists aimed their attacks on the United States of America, THEY HIT THE WORLD!
