More Sightseeing in New York City

After leaving Ground Zero and the WTC Command Center, we drove north along the east side of Manhattan Island.  We passed by many well known and famous places in New York City, and through Central Park, before arriving back at my hotel.

Dee dropped me off at the hotel about 4:30 p.m.  I went up to my room and relaxed for awhile, watched the news on TV, then decided to venture out into NYC by myself.  I didn't go far, I just walked up 7th Avenue and checked out some of the local shops.  I bought some souvenirs, things to take back to the family at home and some postcards.

By the time I got back to the hotel I was tired and hungry, so I ordered a sirloin burger with grilled onions, cheese and bacon; fries and a coke from room service.  That cost me $32!!!  It was good though ... *grin* ... I think they must have put a 1/2 pound of bacon on that burger.  After I ate, showered and got ready for bed, I wrote out postcards to family and friends.  It was a full day but one I enjoyed immensely and will never forget.

The song playing is
"New York, New York"
