June 22, 2003 God Gives Hope for the Future
Printed Text: Zechariah 8:1-13
1. Why is it important for us to know that the promises of the Bible are from God? How do we know that they are indeed from God and are not merely fanciful inventions?
2. Why would the fact that the Lord is “jealous” be a comfort? Why could it be a frustration to others? How does one move from the “frustration” category to the “comfort” category?
3. What assurance do Christian believers have of God’s presence? How do you experience that presence in your life?
4. Recount a time in your life when God intervened in a situation that appeared hopeless.
5. What are some tasks or objectives for which God may call believers today to “strengthen their hands”? How much or how little attention do you consider that believers generally have given to those callings?
