Picture Of Author

The author is a retired business man who has successfully survived 30 years in the fast paced, stressful, high pressure business world. He was the eldest of four children born to a Christian family and made the decision to make Jesus Christ as his Lord and personal savior at the age of ten. He is the first to admit that since that time there were many times in which he was less than most faithful in his commitment, but even in the valley times it was his desire to serve his Lord.

Pressures and demands of the business world as well as the responsibilities of providing for a large family often robbed him from pursuing the real desires of his heart which were to learn more about the Great Creator and His redemptive plan for humanity. Early in life it became evident to him that there were many who sincerely thought that they were Christians and were doing "good" things and were living "good" lives, but sadly were not going to be in the kingdom of heaven. In Matthew it tells us:

(Mat 7:21 KJV)  "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."
Salvation is not provided through works, but rather is a free gift through the grace of God. This decision, however, has responsibilities associated with it. It is more than just making the choice to accept Jesus as a personal savior and walking down an aisle of a church, or even becoming a member of a church. It also requires doing the will of the Father in your life. This has been the case even from the time of Adam and Eve in which they were safely sheltered in God's care in the eternal environment of bliss, in the Garden of Eden. However, for them to remain in that state it was necessary for them to be obedient to God in the one command that He gave them , that is, to not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

The author even in the early part of his life began searching for just what the will of the Father was and how it should apply to his life. He first turned to his church looking for answers to his questions. Without success there he turned to the church pastors and over the course of his life had numerous discussions with pastors of different faiths, but still received few answers to the nagging questions in his mind. After some earnest prayer and considerable time reading God's Holy Word he came to the conclusion that the will of the Father was contained in His Holy Word if he would only be diligent and search for it with an open mind and a sensitivity to the teaching of the Holy Spirit.

Since making that decision, he has studied the Holy Scriptures earnestly and in prayer, researching many of the commonly proclaimed church doctrines and other teachings and has resolved most of the questions concerning those doctrines and teachings in his mind. He has found that many of the doctrines taught even by fundamentalist believing churches are in error when studied closely with God's Word. He also found that many of our modern churches have forgotten their "first love," the preaching of the gospel, and have developed selfish, materially centered agendas of worldly prominence and status. For many it has become more important for them to build new, unnecessary buildings and pursue fund raising projects rather than take the gospel message to a lost, needy, searching world. It is the author's desire in this web series to look at some of these doctrines and modern teachings evaluating them using only the explicit reading of God's Holy Scriptures.

In addition to making in depth studies of the predominant church doctrines the author will also provide in depth studies of selected Scripture texts as well as other selected topics. Some of the Scripture texts were chosen by the author in conjunction with teaching a Sunday School class at a Baptist church. The studies themselves, however, will not strictly adhere to Southern Baptist doctrines or teachings since the author is convinced that most, if not all, church denominations, especially the Southern Baptist churches, have a number of false doctrines and doctrines of error. Most of the Scriptural studies are formatted using a bullet format highlighting the author's commentary notes and is presented in a form that can be used without significant modification as a teacher's guide in studying and presenting the material to their students. Other topics of interest are presented in narrative format.

It is the author's desire and hope that you will read and study the information given in this site, evaluating it with an open mind by the reading and studying of the Holy Scriptures and by listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit speaking within you and then to have the courage to follow up on your convictions in your daily life. He is convinced that this will result in your being able to experience a closer, more obedient relationship with your God and His Son, Jesus Christ and that as a result you will experience a more fulfilled Christian life here on this present earth and certainly in the life which is yet to come in God's new heaven and earth which is now being prepared for His obedient followers.
