Information On Pocket Prayer Cloths for Troops

Patterns of pocket prayer cloths; please go to prayerclothministry.com website.

Pocket prayer cloths:
1) pray over before, during and after making the prayer cloth.
2) After you are done, please label your prayer cloth.
Each label should have the following information. A prayer, verse or poem to encourage. After this it should say “this prayer cloth was made with prayers in each stitch by (your first name) in (your state).
Then the ministry address and email.
3) Bag the pocket prayer cloths. If you do not tie the labels (need to have all information above on label) then you will need to put each pocket prayer cloth in a ziploc sandwich/snack baggie. (you can use generic brands)
4) Please send parcel post, you do not need to send priority mail

Colors for pocket prayer cloths:
muted colors are best for troops.
This is dark blues, greens, browns, tans, camo colored yarn, blues, black, greys, reds, and red/white/blue. No NEONS or WHITE for troops please.
This is because we don’t want colors that attract attention for the ones that are in harm’s way.

Remember most are men so please use men colors mainly..

Baggies:
The baggies serve as keeping everything together, keeping it clean and for the papers not to get lost with them when they are sent.
If you are able please add your pocket prayer cloths into a baggie with your label.
If not, then that is acceptable too.

Cards/labels:
Labels are a MUST on pocket prayer cloths!
It can be something as simple as “This prayer cloth was made with many prayers by in (with ministry address and email below) .
Be creative or not, cards are most enjoyed by the troops! If you would like labels that are made up (just need to add your name and state) already please email me at pcm@prayerclothministry.com or mail at address above. Already made labels can be sent to you please email. Please either put in baggie, or attach label on by ribbon, yarn, string, safety pin or even stapling.

Charms:
Many people ask about charms and such for the prayer cloths. This is optional as we all cannot do this. The real shiny crosses or crucifixes should not be used for pocket prayer cloths.(you can put finger nail polish to darken shiny crosses)

Yarns:
ANY yarn maybe used though worsted weight is best for the prayer cloths as this is more tougher than some other yarns.
Please use a tighter stitch more than a lacy stitch, this holds better expecially on pocket prayer cloths.
