A light is shining

A light is shining right through me
Illuminates my soul
A special light that makes me see
More clearly, and be whole

I open up, receive this light
I know I need it so
I need the light to guide me right
So I know where to go

I mustn’t hide this special light
But show it to the world
So they too see the road that’s right
before their eyes unfurled

Because that’s why I have this light
Not only for myself
But so that others find what’s right
It shouldn’t stand on a shelf
